Walmart.com have placed their upcoming 2 disc Exclusive edition of the
Transformers Movie for pre-order.
Judging by the sticker on the cover, the Walmart exclusive animated prequel: "Transformers: Beginnings", voiced by Peter Cullen, will be on the second disc, possibly meaning that the Movie itself will be the standard 1 disc edition.
The set will retail for $19.86, and will be available in stores on October 16th 2007.

Seibertron.com member mr.terrific has let us know that he recently contacted the Best Buy chain in Canada for information regarding the store-exclusive
Transformers Movie DVD. Though the message is not clear as to whether or not the
Best-Buy exclusive Robot Heroes are also included in the Canadian set, it does state that the Canadian DVD set will come with a 32-page book that is
not included in the American Best-Buy set.
Here is the original email as sent to mr.terrific:
Thank you for your email regarding Transformers (Widescreen) (Best Buy
Exclusive) (2007).
We have investigated and confirmed that the two sets are not the same. The US
one comes with 2 figurines and does not make any mention of the 32 page book
that comes with the one available on the Canadian site.

Member Alex reports in on a new contest related to the DVD release of the movie this month:
"In addition to the Hostess and Chevy contests, Heavy.com is hosting a Paramount-sponsored "Transformers Ultimate Fan" video contest to promote the October 16th release of the Transformers DVD.
Contestants will submit 3 minute long videos demonstrating their superfandom in hopes of winning a cash prize of $1000 along with $440 worth of Transformers movie swag. To enter, contestants will have to upload their videos through the contest page at Heavy.com before early November. I believe this sort of thing has already been done by others for the theatrical release of the TF movie."
So for the creative folks in our audience, have a go, and good luck!!!

Recently several reporters were invited for a tour on the grounds of
Industrial Light & Magic. Amoungst them was
IGN.com. They have put up an article on their site about
the tour they got by
visual effects supervisor on the
Transformers Movie, Scott Farrar.
Aside from the tour, they also got the chance to ask some questions, like why Optimus Prime was given a mouth and how much Michael Bay was involved with ILM. Go to IGN.com for the complete
article and interview
"
Michael is always thinking about new and crazy actions. It's a circus and we're going to raise the tight-rope a little higher next time. It'll all be very dramatic. The commitment is not just to chuck out a sequel. It's a deep story; there are lots of layers. They want to really keep these characters rich….It'll be improved".
