Seibertron's very own BigBot has found some very good news for our UK based members, the re-release of Transformers RID series on DVD. Here is BigBot's original post:

Good news everyone who didn't pick them up originally back in 2004/05. Robots In Disguise is being completely re-released on DVD in the UK. It will be in 2 packs again, but with different covers.

An interesting item has surfaced on eBay claiming to be a hand-painted, unproduced prototype of a Generation 2 Starscream figure, classified as "Jungle Attack" Starscream.

The auction page can be viewed by clicking here. Here's what the seller, senuseret72, has to say about the history of this peculiar item:

This auction is for a very rare Transformers Gen 1 Starscream prototype. This piece was painted in-house at Hasbro by a designer as consideration for the G2 line. The most likely proposal for this piece was a Jungle Attack Starscream and while not accepted, this piece remains unproduced. This is a production version G1 Starscream that has been redecorated internally at Hasbro for purposes of progressing the line.

This piece is a production version G1 Starscream that has been redecorated internally at Hasbro by a designer in consideration for the G2 line. The proposal most likely would have been for a Jungle Attack Starscream however this particular concept was not accepted and remains unreleased. Proposals are given at line meetings where decisions are made in which direction to take the line. This piece was more than likely created for a line meeting and never made it past that stage of development. The additional Starscream was found with the Jungle Deco Starscream and so they are being auctioned together. Purchased directly from a former Hasbro employee, the provenance is direct.

Simon Furman has once again updated his blog, this time with new information about the final issue of "The Ascending."

SCRIPT (W)RAP
August 27th, 2007

This will (by necessity) have to be one of THE most obtuse and teasing script (w)raps I’ve done so far, largely because it’s for issue #4 (of four) of Beast Wars: The Ascending. My good friend Ben Yee, who read the script and often advises me on all things Beast Wars (simply because he’s arguably THE authority on the series), compared the bodycount favourably to Marvel’s Generation 2 comic, so that gives you an idea that this series is set to end on a less than happy note (in some ways at least). Anyhow, what can I tell you? Well, apart from the fact that several characters meet sticky ends (and this is in no way limited or exclusive to minor characters), the main villain of the piece (by now, thanks to preview images of interior art for #1 and the cover for #4 having hit the web elsewhere, it’s pretty much general knowledge that ‘the nemesis’ I’ve carefully been referring to is Shokaract) makes his grand power play, unaware that he is the pawn of a far greater evil, and Magmatron (still consigned, for now, to a temporal limbo) puts a desperate plan to stop him into all-out action. Big Convoy and Lio Convoy fight side-by-side on Cybertron, Razorbeast takes on Rartorata, Drancron and Elephorca alone (for now) and Ravage fights dirty (as always). Oh, and there’s even a tie-in to the end of the Beast Wars TV series. This one really is cover-to-cover action, with far-reaching events unfolding on both Earth and Cybertron, and it sets up… well, that’d be telling. Beast Wars The Ascending #4 hits in November. Christopher Knight has dropped by the board again to let us know on the status of the upcoming CD release of Steve Jablonsky's Transformers score. It will be a single disc release that will be "as complete as possible", though Warners may plan a 2 disc release for release in the neaer future depending on the sales of the signle disc release (which, from all appearances, will do quite well. You can check out the full report here.
