According to Mouth04 (who is a Target employee) over at the
Allspark message boards, Target is set to get a figure being called (at the moment) "Stealth Jet." Could this be the repaint of G2 Dreadwing/Smokescreen we´ve been hearing so much about? It´s supposedly set for a Spring ´03 release but a sales rep says it should be out by the first week in January. You can view the original thread
here.

I received an anonymous e-mail today containing the following:
"Behind the scenes at Hasbro, there is a debate about the direction & future of how to market Transformers.
"Much of the current marketing staff view Transformers as their "younger" boy´s action brand, while GI Joe is aimed at older boys. Thus they want simplified toys with gimmicks over poseability. Each series will be centered on the gimmicks rather than the characters much like the HeadMasters-ActionMasters years of Generation One. The fact that the current cartoon was as childish as it is was merely a fluke. No one at Hasbro had really paid much attention to the Armada cartoon until the criticisms started rolling in. From within the fandom and within Hasbro´s own offices.
"A small segment of Hasbro´s work force (sadly not the decision makers of the company) view Transformers as epic sci-fi and want it to replace the quietly dying Star Wars brand for boys, teens AND adult collectors. But the brass see the fandom as little more than a nuisance and are unwilling to risk a major marketing campaign to attract more of them.
"Right now there is a serious debate about whether the next series will continue the "Final Fantasy" approach and aim squarely at boys 4-9, or whether it will feature the return of the characters from Generation One in some form.
"While Hasbro is not taking the adult collector´s interest seriously, Takara and surprisingly Cartoon Network have BOTH voiced an opinion to Hasbro to redirect the brand back to G1."
This is strictly a RUMOR. However, if I get more information on this, you can bet I´ll post it RIGHT HERE @ SEIBERTRON.com!

Yes, I know how much it bloody sucks and that we´d all like to take a shot at the wankers responsible at SEIBERTRON.com´s hosting company, but the accounts from the most previous incarnation of the message board were deleted by the server when the power went out this past Friday. Once again, the message board had to be started over and is now called
THE ENERGON PUB. This name change is meant to reflect the laid back, fun atmosphere I encourage on the message board. You won´t find over bearing moderators or extremely strict guidelines to follow and as always,
new members are welcome! All that the Moderators and myself ask is that you try to be respectful of such an open environment.
"The Energon Pub" is using the latest version of
phpBB 2 and should have a variety of bugs worked out of its´ system. The directory changed to reflect the name change of the message board. Please point your browsers to
seibertron.com/energonpub for future reference. ENJOY!

Several "minor" changes were made to SEIBERTRON.com yesterday after reinstalling the
message board. I redesigned the navigation at the top of the web site. Gone from the navigation is the "
main page" link. If you wish to return to the main page from the navigation, just click the
blank squares in the navigation on either the left or right side OR click the
main title (header) image. I added a
RUMORS link, changed the "message board" navigation to a new image that calls the NEW board "
ENERGON PUB", and modified the "reviews" navigation to read "
TOYS/REVIEWS" instead since there are a lot of images in that section without reviews.
In order to make your machine view the site properly instead of from your cache:
Go to the menu in Internet Explorer
Click on "Internet Options"
In the middle of the menu that pops up, you´ll see a section for Temporary Internet Files. There should be 3 buttons: Delete Cookies, Delete Files, and Settings. Click on DELETE FILES then click OK. This will search for the latest files on web sites you visit.

I was at a flea market today in Singapore and somehow managed to find an Armada
Scavenger from
Wave 3 of the toy line. I believe this toy won´t be released until November, so I
could have stumbled upon a dealer´s sample or something. Please find detailed packaging images, here:
