Hasbro Inc second largest toy maker in the US reported this morning a rise in profit of 15% in the fourth quarter of 2005. Led by strong domestic sales growth powered by Star Wars merchandise, they reported net income of $94.3 million (48 cents per share) compared with $81.9 million (44 cents per share) last year.
Revenue in the U.S. toy segment, which includes the Star Wars and Furby lines, increased to $305.6 million from $263.7 million. Game segment revenue fell to $235.8 million from $270.3 million.

Seibertronian High Command has posted some rather interesting new on future Transformers releases in the UK. Seibertronian and UK Transformers Retailer Ellismodels.com has run through his Hasbro UK order forms with him, giving us details of what we should be seeing in the first UK wave of Cybertron, and news on other Transformers release we may be seeing later in the year.

Transformers Cybertron Wave 1

Scouts: Ransack, Scattorshot, Overhaul and the Railracer Micromaster team.

deluxes: hot shot, thundercracker, dirtboss and landmine
Plus Tesco and Argos also appear to have Sideways and Snarl as possible exclusives.

Voyagers: So far only Crumplezone and Vector Prime have been seen domestically released in the UK.

Ultras: Argos have Jetfire, plus some European overstocks of Scourge and Jetfire have made it to selected Co-ops.

Supremes: Both Starscream AND Metroplex seem to be included in wave one, both as supreme class figures. Although Starscream is not listed on the order forms he has already appeared in Toys R Us stores across the country.

Also It seems like the rumour of 20th Anniversary Optimus Prime and futher G1 reissues at Toys R Us may well be true. They are listed as FOB (special order items) Hasbro UK doesn't keep them in stock but order them when a retailer requests it. Any store that has a wholesale account or is part of a buying group can get them, so its really up to those retailers as to whether we see these toys in the UK or not.

Many thanks to Ellismodels.com for this information!

Don Murphy's has posted this message in reference to Peter Cullen and Frank Welker returning to thier roles as Optimus Prime and Megatron in the forthcoming Transformers Movie:

I should tell you all that the Cullen/Welker thing is far from a done deal. I spoke to some Dreamworks execs last week long distance and they really think the old voices link our new movie to old things. I disagree. I know you do too. It will be Michael Bay's decision. When I prepare my report to him about this very subject I will let you know. I believe this is the ONLY thing the fanbase is in agreement with. And before reporting this as news, like a lame site like Cinescape might do, be advised- NO DECISION HAS BEEN MADE YET about the voice actors, EITHER WAY.
