The Universe of the Transformers is vast, and populated by many characters. Their universe is a large tapestry, made up of the stories and points of view of countless experiences that serve the larger whole.
These are some of those stories. This is:
[size=80">It should be noted that while this project has been recognized by IDW Publishing and Hasbro, none of the works presented have been commissioned or solicited by either company. The stories are not official canon, except where noted.
These stories are the result of Transformers enthusiasts taking the time out of their busy days to contribute to a universe they love.
No one has been paid for the production of these stories.
IDW Transformer Artist, Guido Guidi, has updated his Deviantart pages with plenty of what one can basically just call 'eye candy'. These are mostly sketches where he is working on designs for a few of IDW's recent or future central characters.
so this is just me messing around with photoshop.
after i saw some of the art from the blurr spotlight i wanted to do a head sketch of him. i then thought i should add some color to it. it's nothing spectacular, but it was fun to just play around with stuff.
well, back to sketches
While this not an image that will get officially used, it is nice to see another one of IDW's artists taking a crack at the design, and sharing it with us. Who knows, maybe he'll get to draw Blurr in the future.
Casey Coller, famous for his very special 'All Hail Megatron' cover of Megatron styled like the Batman 'Killing Joke', will have the art duties on the actual upcoming Blurr Spotlight.
For those sad that they did not get to see the IDW presentation at SDCC over the weekend, Denton Tipton, Transformers Editor at IDW, shares a YouTube video of the slide presentation at his Blog "From the Tip", reviewing basically all the goodies we've been sharing with you over the past few days.
Denton also shares IDW's current schedule of release for Transformers books...

Reign of Starscream #4

And finally, we have one last IDW update, Marcelo Matere, busy gut that he is shared his Oil Slick Animated Comic Cover, earlier in the week, and now Chris Ryall informs us at "RyallTime" that another cover of Marcelo's will be used for the next collection of Transformers Spotlights. The shattering Grimlock through the cover was a favorite of fans, but not used when the TF Spotlight Grimlock printing came about. (Click the link to see the cover)
They found a place for it as the cover for this collection set to come out in mid-September.
From Marcelo's Deviant Art Page he brings us the cover art for IDW's Animated Comic #3 featuring...OIL SLICK, the evil Decepticon who was never a part of the Animated cartoon...yet, but who is going to get his character explored in the IDW comics.
This was revealed last weekend at SDCC by IDW, so Marcelo decided to share with everyone! Enjoy!
More information is coming out regarding the sequel to last year's blockbuster Transformers Movie. Following news that the sequel is filming in San Pedro, we now have two interviews with some of the top talent at IDW publishing that gives us some new information regarding the "Fallen" from the new film's title, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen.
The first is an interview on Comic Book Resources with Transformers writer Simon Furman, who mentions that the "Fallen" may very well be the famous character created for the DW comics.
"It's interesting that the second movie is using this character called the Fallen, which is a character that we created back in the Dreamwave days for this big series called 'The Dark Ages' which tapped into what had gone before. So these names and institutions like The 13 are rolling on into different incarnations."

Second is an interview with writer Chris Mowry, who corroborates Furman's statement about the "Fallen" being the DW-created character.
We're going to explore the background of The Fallen — the main villain of the movie — as well as expand on the ‘Reign of Starscream’ story that we’re doing and tie everything in to what this next movie is going to be [...] The next movie starts out with just tons of action and there’s obviously going to be a lot of questions, so we’re hoping to answer some of those beforehand.”

IDW Publishing's resident colorist Josh Perez has posted some new cover art for the upcoming Maximum Dinobots #1 comic book. The first of the two images was presented at the San Diego Comic Convention by Editor in Chief, Chris Ryall and Max Writer, Simon Furman. The second image is a new cover showing Grimlock how many TF fans view him.

With just a few short days to his Auto Assembly 2008 appearance, Transformers Comic Writer Simon Furman has done another update to his personal blog, giving us a peek at some line art for the upcoming Titan UK #16. Mr. Furman states that this will be a 'stand alone' book but will tie into a later story. Dark Spark ushers in the return of certain, thought dead, characters in this alternate movie-verse story.
