And finally, we have one last IDW update, Marcelo Matere, busy gut that he is shared his Oil Slick Animated Comic Cover, earlier in the week, and now Chris Ryall informs us at "RyallTime" that another cover of Marcelo's will be used for the next collection of Transformers Spotlights. The shattering Grimlock through the cover was a favorite of fans, but not used when the TF Spotlight Grimlock printing came about. (Click the link to see the cover)

They found a place for it as the cover for this collection set to come out in mid-September.

From Marcelo's Deviant Art Page he brings us the cover art for IDW's Animated Comic #3 featuring...OIL SLICK, the evil Decepticon who was never a part of the Animated cartoon...yet, but who is going to get his character explored in the IDW comics.

This was revealed last weekend at SDCC by IDW, so Marcelo decided to share with everyone! Enjoy!

More information is coming out regarding the sequel to last year's blockbuster Transformers Movie. Following news that the sequel is filming in San Pedro, we now have two interviews with some of the top talent at IDW publishing that gives us some new information regarding the "Fallen" from the new film's title, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen.

SPOILERS BELOW

The first is an interview on Comic Book Resources with Transformers writer Simon Furman, who mentions that the "Fallen" may very well be the famous character created for the DW comics.

:
"It's interesting that the second movie is using this character called the Fallen, which is a character that we created back in the Dreamwave days for this big series called 'The Dark Ages' which tapped into what had gone before. So these names and institutions like The 13 are rolling on into different incarnations."

Read the interview with Simon Furman, who also discusses future IDW Transformers projects, by clicking here.

Second is an interview with writer Chris Mowry, who corroborates Furman's statement about the "Fallen" being the DW-created character.

:
We're going to explore the background of The Fallen — the main villain of the movie — as well as expand on the ‘Reign of Starscream’ story that we’re doing and tie everything in to what this next movie is going to be [...] The next movie starts out with just tons of action and there’s obviously going to be a lot of questions, so we’re hoping to answer some of those beforehand.”

With just a few short days to his Auto Assembly 2008 appearance, Transformers Comic Writer Simon Furman has done another update to his personal blog, giving us a peek at some line art for the upcoming Titan UK #16. Mr. Furman states that this will be a 'stand alone' book but will tie into a later story. Dark Spark ushers in the return of certain, thought dead, characters in this alternate movie-verse story.

And it looks like Starscream is 'all in' as Alex Milne presents the colored version of his cover for 'Reign of Starscream' #5. Reign of Starscream follows the adventures of post movie Starscream as he makes his bid for Decepticon ruler, pillager of Earth, and destroyer of Autobots.

Here's Shane McCarthy, writer on IDW's all new and somewhat controversial new series "ALL HAIL MEGATRON" writing on his blog 'SMAcTALK most recently about All Hail Megatron #4 and some other things like the new Autobot character 'Drift'...

"When I first conceived the initial idea for All Hail Megatron I had a faint glimmer of an image in my head for a cover design; one that dripped of sorrow, solitude and defeat. I handed this rudimentary idea to Trevor and he came back with what I feel is the best cover design he’s done yet. Gut wrenching in its simplicity and something that will stand out on any shelf. The guy is frustratingly talented.

The owner of this particular silhouette features heavily in the issue and is particularly crushed by the events of AHM. I feel sorry for the big lug.

Man that bot looks totally down. Can things get worse than what we saw in issue #1? Apparently.

Seibertron.com member Skalor is reporting with the goods from the IDW Publishing Panel at the San Diego Comic Convention. Here's what he had to share:

After a not so revealing IDW panel today at SDCC, there were only a few new tidbits of upcoming releases by IDW. They confirmed that a Spotlight Cosmos is in the works, and they talked about the upcoming Spotlight Blurr a little. They said to expect Blurr as you've never seen him before (Pre-Great War on Cybertron, not annoying). Other upcoming titles discussed were Maximum Dinobots, Animated, Destiny (Movie Prequel), and "the 13," but not really any content. One thing said about the Animated issues was that Oil Slick, originally slated to be a toy only character, will be brought to life in the Comics. There was some new artwork that was showed from the Blurr issue and the upcoming All Hail Megatron issues (which look great...Ravage!!!!!!) Another tidbit revealed was the creation of a new character: Drift. He's designed really well and is modeled after a "Japanese drift-race car." The real cool news behind this is that they said Drift will be made into a toy by Hasbro. Lots of good stuff coming, lots to look forward to!

But that's not all. Seibertron.com has found a IDW Panel Q&A with writers that are at the convention along with Writer Simon Furman, who is not at the SDCC. This information confirms what was reported above by Skalor. You can find the Q&A here at Newsarama.com.
