Our friend and theme park enthusiast Ricky Brigante with Inside the Magic dropped by with a couple of video clips of the interactive Optimus Prime and Megatron walk around characters in action at Universal Orlando. Unlike the previous walk arounds, who only spoke prerecorded lines, these actually interact with guests. Transformers: The Ride 3D opens at Universal Studios Orlando on June 20th! We've embedded the clips below, you can read more at Behind the Magic by clicking here.
Transformers: Robots in Disguise Ongoing artist dropped by to let everyone know he will be appearing at Wizard World Philadelphia from May 30th - June 2nd. In addition to participating in the event's Artist Alley (Table #2100) he will be taking part in "How We Got Here" panel on Friday, May 31st at 2:00 in room 109.
2:00 – 2:45PM HOW WE GOT HERE
An overnight success. That gets thrown around a lot these days but what’s the reality? Did all these really talented and successful creative minds just pop up ‘overnight’ or was it a long and arduous process? Join writer/artist Bob Layton, artist Andrew Griffith and filmmaker/writer Daniel Boyd as they tell us just really how they got here. Moderated by Rebecca Housel. (ROOM 109)
Currently providing pencils and inks for IDW Publishing’s Ongoing Transformers series, “Robots in Disguise,” Andrew Griffith first came to IDW’s attention by taking part in the company’s “Be the Next Transformers Covers Artist” competition. Although he didn’t win the top slot in the contest, he did well enough to arrive on IDW’s radar and eventually landed the gig of illustrating covers for reissue comics of classic Transformers stories from the UK during the 1980s. Shortly after, he was brought on as an inker and fill-in artist on prequel comics for the feature film “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen,” before contributing inks for the critically acclaimed mini-series “Last Stand of the Wreckers.”
Eventually, Griffith was given his own mini-series to illustrate, a prequel comic to the “Transformers: Dark of the Moon” film. The success of that book and his working relationship with writer and former Marvel Editor John Barber lead to him being assigned on the current ongoing series job working side-by-side with Barber.
Griffith has also illustrated the DVD covers for Shout Factory!’s recent releases of the original Transformers cartoon series, has done concept work for Hasbro, and illustrated an issue of Titan UK’s Transformers comic. As well as working on Transformers-related properties, Griffith has contributed professional work to franchises including G.I. Joe, Star Wars, and Vampirella.

In 2010, Hasbro founded its TRANSFORMERS Hall of Fame, honoring humans and robots that have left an everlasting mark on the world of toys, entertainment and CYBERTRON during the past nearly 30 years of “ROBOTS IN DISGUISE” action. Now in its fourth year, Hasbro is once again turning to fans to help select two Fans’ Choice robot inductees to make up the class of 2013!
You can tell us who you'd like to be considered for the 2013 TRANSFORMERS Hall of Fame by no later than 12 p.m. Central on Thursday May 30th, 2013. All polling result lists from the various Transformers fansites will be combined together (each outlet getting an equal voice) with the #1 character on each list worth 5 points, etc. The resultant point values will be used to generate the final ballot of five choices, which will be voted upon in early June on Transformers.com.
The two characters receiving the most fan votes in the final polling will be announced at Hasbro’s panel on Saturday, June 29, at Transformers BotCon in San Diego!
Phase 1: Over the next few days, we want you to tell us your top 5 choices you'd like to see for consideration. Do not pick any previous Hall of Fame inductees which include Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, Megatron, Starscream, Dinobot, Ironhide, Ratchet, Soundwave, Waspinator, Grimlock, Jazz, Shockwave, and Wheeljack. We'll tally those results together on Thursday, May 30th, 2013 to determine which Transformers characters the fans on Seibertron.com think should be considered. You must have your choices posted in the corresponding forum topic here no later than Thursday, May 30th at 11:59 a.m. Central. The more nominations a character receives, the better chances that character will appear in Seibertron.com's list that gets sent to Hasbro.
Please post your choices in a list. Each character's name should appear on a separate line. Please do not post anything additional after the character's name (i.e. no parentheses with explanations about your choice). Make sure that you spell your choice correctly!Do not pick any previous Hall of Fame inductees which include Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, Megatron, Starscream, Dinobot, Ironhide, Ratchet, Soundwave, Waspinator, Grimlock, Jazz, Shockwave, and Wheeljack. Your list should appear in the following format:
Phase 2: Hasbro will then tally the results together from all of the Transformers fan sites to create the final ballot which will be available on Transformers.com some time in March.
Phase 3: The winning Transformers character will be announced at Hasbro's brand panel at BotCon in San Diego, CA.
