In his traditional
Sunday post the ever cordial
Don Murphy has revealed that the head of Megatron from the forthcoming
Transformers Movie, will not look like it did in the
leaked concept images, and he credits us with making it happen!
I CAN tell you that Megs' head will not look like he did in the leaked pics. This was done solely because of the leader of Seibertron.com's delicate work on the process. He is so revered throughout fandom, Hollywood and the world that we decided to make the change. It was NOT because we were trying to make the fans happy. NO SIREE.
However you read his rather sarcastic post it does appear the changes were made for the sake of the fans, and possibly due to the largely negative fan reaction over the
leaked Megatron images we saw a couple of months back.

The official Japanese
Transformers Movie website went live this weekend. The site is very similar to the US
Transformers Movie website, only with Japanese text. As yet no Japanese release date has been announced for the movie.

Transformers novelist
David Cian (pseudonym for
David Russel) announced on
Don Murphy's forums that he'll be writing the upcoming
Transformers Movie Prequel novel that will be released sometime in the 2nd quarter of 2007 before the movie's release on July 4th, 2007.
When asked about the premise of this novel,
David Cian responded:
"I guess I get to own this idea. The storyline is essentially mine, though plenty of input was provided by the various parties involved. Hints... well, let's see now... how about this: you'll get to learn a lot more about the history of a certain secret government agency; a significant part of the story occurs in the far reaches of our galaxy; oh, yes, and there will be a surprise at the end for fans of the film."

Don Murphy's forums.
You can find the novels written by David Cian at Amazon.com by clicking here. On a personal note, I really enjoyed the 4 existing Transformers novels that came out a couple of years ago. They're certainly not without flaws but they're some pretty dark and interesting Transformers stories that you won't see in comic book form anytime soon. If you haven't read these novels yet, I would highly recommend them.

Flickr.com user
Lizzie B. has posted some interesting
Transformers Movie pics of what appears to be a prop of Optimus Prime's head and shoulder used for reference during filming. This pic gives us a good idea at what Prime might look like plus his scale on the film.
Keep in mind this a set prop that is being used for reference and probably be added with CGI later during post-production.
To see more set pics plus a few images of Ratchet, Ironhide and Barricade's alt mode, plus what appears to be Megatron's finger head over to Lizzie B.'s Transformers photos
Don't forget to check out the official
Transformers Movie website!

Good evening my fellow Seibertronians,
I received an exciting message from our friend
Stan Bush, who many of you might remember as the original performer of the infamous "
The Touch" from the original animated
Transformers Movie (1986). Here's what
Stan wrote to the staff of SEIBERTRON.com earlier today ...
| Stan Bush wrote: |
Hi Ryan,
I wanted to let the legions of Transfans know that my Producer and I are in the studio mixing a new track for a certain upcoming live-action movie directed by Michael Bay ... I think you know the one!
It's a BIG song, with 70+ tracks at this point!
We hope to submit this track in the next couple weeks.
Also, you can give your readers the link to my new website/MySpace page: www.stanbush.com.
All The Best,
Stan Bush |
I think it would be really great if we could rally behind
Stan Bush to support him in his efforts to make another kick ass song for the upcoming
Transformers Movie. Thanks for contacting us,
Stan. I think I speak for many fans when I say I can't wait to see what you've got in store for us. I'm sure it will be great!
If you missed SEIBERTRON.com's "remastering" of
Stan Bush's "
The Touch" music video, make sure you check it out
here.
