Hasbro has done something a bit strange. With a major motion picture about to appear in three weeks, Hasbro has said ‘sayonara’ to Creative Artists Agency, which is the agency that brought together and helped broker the deal for the Transformers Movie with Paramount, DreamWorks, Hasbro, and Spielberg.

Creative Artists Agency (CAA) is one of the most powerful talent and literary agencies in American show business. Previously headquartered in a I.M. Pei-designed building in Beverly Hills, the agency represents a vast array of actors, writers, directors, and athletes, as well as a variety of companies and their products.

So what does this all mean? It means that something is not going right between Hasbro, Paramount, DreamWorks, CAA, and possibly the movie. This is a bold move for Hasbro to do several weeks before the movie’s debut.

For the powers at the Creative Artists Agency, Hollywood’s pre-eminent talent representative, the coming blockbuster “Transformers” has already brought a lesson in the cold-hearted ways of corporate entertainment.

The outsize robot adventure movie was born when the talent agency connected Hasbro — a client, and owner of the Transformers toy line — with DreamWorks, Paramount and another longtime associate, Steven Spielberg, among others. As the project grew, at least 10 Creative Artists clients picked up credits, including the writers, several stars and both Mr. Spielberg and Brian Goldner, Hasbro’s chief operating officer, who are executive producers.

But a scant month before the picture’s release on July 4, Hasbro decided to jettison Creative Artists and jump to the rival William Morris, which represents the director of “Transformers,” Michael Bay.

So it goes in the new Hollywood. Loyalty stops at the bottom line, and even the most powerful of agencies is finding it can be tougher to meet the needs of a corporate customer than to baby-sit for a temperamental star.

Wayne Charness, Hasbro’s senior vice president for corporate communications, credited Creative Artists for its “invaluable assistance” in hooking it up with DreamWorks and Paramount. “For that, we’ll certainly be eternally grateful.”

But, in explaining the corporate kiss-off, Mr. Charness added, “William Morris, from an entertainment point of view, is best able to deliver something for us now.”

For Creative Artists, the loss of Hasbro is hardly a show-stopper. But the embarrassment comes just as it is trying to prove that it can mirror, if not exactly match, the intricacy and reach of the media conglomerates and consumer and technology companies that have come to define the entertainment world.

Gamespot has just posted a lenghty interview with Daniel Suarez, executive producer of Activision, creators of the Transformers Movie Videogame

The video interview shows tons of new game footage (in-game and cutscenes) and gives us a good look at some new apsects of the game we have not seen yet, including clips of Optimus Prime fighting a giant Shockwave and a quick glimpse of Bonecrusher and Starscream causing general mayhem (Note: Bonecrusher was not originally among the list of playable characters for the game, could this hint to him being an unlockable character?)

Check out the interview here!

Seibertron's own Burn gives a first hand breakdown and report about the special screening that happened in Australia...

"So it's now just a bit before 10:30pm Australian time and I just got back to the hotel after seeing the movie.

So, where to begin? Well for starters, we're not allowed to talk about the movie until the 28th.

What we are allowed to talk about is the event it's self...

The red carpet was actually a "camo" carpet and the announcer made the comment "we've transformed this place into a junkyard, to make the Autobots feel at home" which gave me a bit of a chuckle.

What did get annoying though was him constantly referring to Autobots as "Autobarns", someone obviously corrected him though.

He kept handing out free tickets until the celebrities turned up, they also had music blasting away, and Lion's Transformers theme was one of them. It was the only TF related music they played.

They were also hyping the fact they had a Hummer there done up with the Transformers logo, nothing spiffy about that really but apparently we were suppose to be in awe.

A bunch of celebrities attended (Mulla can provide a full list after he swangled a Media pass and scored a media press kit), Megan Fox was the first to arrive and she did over the camo carpet. Michael Bay eventually turned up which is when things got a little crazy as we were told we could begin entering the theatre, except we had no idea where.

It was all quite a bit disorganized at that point but we eventually found our way in. There were two cinemas in use with Bay and the Rachel chick in one and Megan Fox in the other.

Bay got up and gave a speech at the beginning and stated that he had only finished the movie 19 hours ago (complete with one big error), then the movie got started and we were treated to one hell of a fantastic movie.

There's good points and bad points but quite frankly the good definitely outweighs the bad. I'll post more and some pics (provided they turn out) when I got home in a couple of days.

But I'll say this. GO AND SEE THIS **** MOVIE!"

Sounds like we will have more to report and hopefully some pictures to share from other Australian members when they start reporting in and sharing how things went. Thanks Burn!

Seibertron member Starscream has brought to our attention an interesting eBay auction for a variant of the 'Legends' class Ratchet figure from this summer's Transformers Movie.

The original Ratchet figure was painted in a bright, neon green while the one in this auction is a more subdued tone of greenish-yellow, more accurate to colours of the actual vehicle used in the film.

See the auction from eBay seller crazy_collectablez69 here
