According to Comingsoon.net, the Transformers Movie will be opening early on July 2nd at 8:00PM, instead of 12:01AM on July 3rd. Apparantly Paramount/Dreamworks is fallowing what Disney had done with the early release of Pirates of the Carribean: At Worlds End. You can read the full post here.

And also at Cinemablend.com, Josh Tyler comments about the news. He has a good view point about how much of a bad idea this is, considering anything that happens on the early showing day doesnt count towards the box office goals. To read his commentaries please click here.

Now, we have exciting pictures of the cards. TomHodges along with others at Scoundrel Art Community have posted pictures of the trading cards. The cards feature movie sketches of the movie characters along with Decepticon and Autobot insignias. There is even an autograph card by Megan Fox.

Many of the cards are starting to pop up on eBay and some of them include images from the movie and some have special foil borders.

IGN.com has added a 2 page article on their site, in which they interview cast members Shia LaBeouf and Megan Fox of the Transformers Movie.

"Michael Bay's the fastest, most intense director I've ever worked with. The explosions are right here. They're not CGI. You know, the other day they had me on top of one of these buildings one-handed with wire, a wire here and a wire there and a cube here. It was insane, but that's stuff that you usually shoot CGI and Michael doesn't do CGI. He likes seeing the immediate, he likes being able to go into his trailer and go, 'You're never gonna believe what I just shot.' Rather than have to wait for the CGI to be put into greenscreen. He likes to see immediately, so things like explosions, I mean, it's all very real".
- Shia LaBeouf

"You know, you sit and you think, 'This isn't realistic and people are going to hate this and I feel like a f--king douchebag and I can't do it. But then you think nobody's even going to give a s--t. There's going to be so much happening around this that they have to tie you into the story somehow, because there are a lot of people who would just watch a movie that was nothing but robots fighting. Sure, but the majority of people… I heard Shia say they want to see some sort of human interaction, human involvement, so those things have to, I think unfortunately they have to be thrown in there. And we're trying to steer away from -- we know the fans and they don't want any sappy bulls--t. We're trying to stay away from that and keep it as realistic as possible and as much about the Autobots and Decepticons as we can".

Review of Glu’s Mobile Phone Transformers Game

The folks at Glu were kind enough to let me have check out their Transformers game based on the upcoming movie for cell phones. I must say I was very impressed with what Glu put together.

The game play is not overly complicated and can be learned rather quickly. Game play makes use of most of the key pad. However, there are not many difficult button combinations. Some people will need to use both hands while playing, while most will only need to use one.

When the game starts you are contacted by Bumblebee and given your mission. You will play your way through the games as the Autobot leader, Optimus Prime. The goal is to rescue your fellow Autobots. Though out the game you will remain in contact with Bumblebee. When you reach certain areas marked by a blue bubble you will be able to contact him. Bumblebee gives advice on how to use your control, and how to advance. At times it is very important to listen to the little bot. These bubbles are not as numerous as you advance in the game.

The game is an action packed plat former. As Prime you must, punch, jump, blast, and transform your way through each level. You have to master all of Prime’s skills to get by as you advance. None of the jumps are overly difficult, though you some require more skill than others. The enemies in the game are not pushovers, but they are not very difficult to defeat. The combination of enemies and jumps add to the challenge of the game with out being overly frustrating.

After beating the first level you will be brought to a map screen. From this point you will be able to choose different paths. Though the game play is repetitive it does not feel like it at. Each stage is set up with a different set of jumps and back ground. Once you start playing you will not want to stop.

The graphics for the game are awesome for a cell phone game. They remind me of a Nintendo game with better graphics. The nostalgia adds to the fun in my opinion. I use to love those old SNSES games and this game helps bring back those memories. I could play the game for hours.

I would suggest giving Glu’s Transformers game a try. Tough the graphics are not XBOX 360 or Playstation 3 quality for a cell phone game the graphics are great. Glu’s Transformers game is very enjoyable and can help pass time.

You can try the game out by clicking here.

Fellow Seibertronian Cujo has discovered at his local Gamestop, some gear for Nintendo DS and Sony PSP. Here is what he had to say:

It's a clear shell and you interchange 12 different "skins"... it comes with a strap/screen cleaner (not pictured) and 3 game cases on each case is a autobot logo..... they had them for the DS and the PSP...... $19.99 it's well worth it

i think i'm going to keep this until i se a decepticon pack or a decepticon skin comes out when the game does....

skin inserts are:
Optimus
Bumblebee
Hotrod
Jazz
Ironhide
Huffer
Jetfire
Kup
Arcee
Mirage
Ratchet
Hardhead

And fellow Seibertronian transmetropolitan has found a link for the versions online.

The link is here.
