PR Newswire has released a Press Release from Paramount Pictures International with word that Sector Seven, which is featured in the upcoming Transformers Movie, now also has its own piece of cyberspace on the popular RPG environment of Second Life.

- Q&A with Director Michael Bay, Producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura and the Cast From TRANSFORMERS Launches "Sector 7" TRANSFORMERS Experience Within Virtual World Second Life

In anticipation of the worldwide release of TRANSFORMERS, Paramount Pictures International will be launching "Sector 7", an immersive 3-D experience within the fast-growing online community known as Second Life.

A live Q&A with the film's director, Michael Bay, producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura and the cast from TRANSFORMERS will launch the experience to an invited global audience of press and fans.

In a first for an event of this profile, the Q&A will also be broadcast live as a video stream available for anybody to view both within Second Life and on the web.

Following the Q&A "Sector 7" will open to the public, giving each of Second Life's 7 million residents the opportunity to:

- Explore the high-security "Sector 7" underground facility featured in the movie and rebuilt within Second Life.

- Collect the first of series of official TRANSFORMERS avatars being given away free to "Sector 7" visitors.

- Interact with a wealth of rich-media production material including stills and video exclusives.

- Discover a wide selection of other free avatar accessories, virtual merchandise and hidden 'easter egg' give-aways.

What is Second Life... is it like chances in a movie so TF had 3 lives now they are on their 2nd or is it something that upgraded the movie... :???:

Second Life is a online "game", as the name suggests you can create a "second life" online and interact with others in real time.

Bruce Willis had a Q&A on Second Life as well recently in connection with the Live Free or Die Hard movie.

i cant stand that second life thing. i tried it once, and its retarded. i cant beleive some people buy stuff for their character on there or some people make so much money they can pay their taxes and stuff.

dont bother. its retarded! its so boring and confusing on how to do stuff, and the only way you sell stuff is if you make something and i think thats pretty hard to do or something. overall, its not worth it. you wont end up liking it or staying on it for long soo, i recommend you dont try it. :lol:

ok second like is like the SIMS video/pc game. u make a character that looks like you(or how ever you want it to) you can have jobs, buy items what ever its more free roaming then the SIMs. in the game you can buy things with real money. think of them like upgrades. so if you wanna buy your char a shirt you get out your credit card and then go buy it. or yo can make items and sell them online. and you can have the game set up to a bank of yours so if ppl buy something from you you get paid for real so its kinda like pay pal but straight to the bank instead of a 2nd party. during the past yr this game has become very popular and has had some endorsements with real world companys.

heeeelllsss yeea! that would be amazing and so much fun. but make it better than second life, and have it so we can go fight everyone else and we get points or money for it. :D

Second life is basically a visual chat room with a hideous graphics engine that's been outdated for over a decade, an in-game economy that people buy into with real money, and user-created content that can be sold in the in-game economy. And by user-created content I mean furry avatars, sex toys, bondage outfits, more sex toys, Star Trek costumes, bootleg porn videos, posters of half-fox cartoon characters masturbating...

What it all adds up to is a 3d version of Yahoo chat rooms before they got rid or private rooms, but with an economy based on cyber-whoring and gambling.

Second Life is disturbing.

I saw second life in a presentation at school. It looks interesting, but it does seem to require too much involvement on my end. Plus, I really wouldn't be a fan of spending money through it.

So, is it wrong that I have created a character and am waiting on a neighboring area, until they open Sector 7 up to the masses in the morning?

I'm interested in checking out Sector 7, I'm hoping it's the 7 level base that we've seen 5 of the 7 levels to... (and I'd really like to check out the "First 7" pictures, assuming they're there as well...
