If this is Voyager or Leader class, it'll be the first Megatron I passed on in years. However, as deluxe, he's drone worthy, even though that jet is pretty falic.

hey! how bout those classics, they look kool! seriously, this whole animated thing makes me shudder.

| Re: Images of Transformers: Animated Megatron Toy Prototype (298333) Posted by lanzajr26 on August 21st, 2007 @ 2:39pm CDT Megatron just can't get a decent alt mode can he. The Decepticons have enough jets, why can't we get some kind of cannon mode for him since a gun is out of the question? | |
| Re: Images of Transformers: Animated Megatron Toy Prototype (298344) Posted by megatroptimus on August 21st, 2007 @ 2:43pm CDT Alternate mode reminds me of that blue hovercraft (part of Ultimate Transmax Megazord) in the recent "Operation overdrive" Power Rangers show... | |

http://www.tfu.info/1989/Autobot/Skyhammer/skyhammer.htm The outer shells look similar to me.
| Re: Images of Transformers: Animated Megatron Toy Prototype (298368) Posted by InvaderJes on August 21st, 2007 @ 2:49pm CDT I like most of what I've seen reguarding the cartoon so far. Not this, though. Eh. It doesn't say 'Megatron' to me.
I imagine this is a deluxe. I scrolled back up to look again. It's already growing on me. I'm so easy.
| Re: Images of Transformers: Animated Megatron Toy Prototype (298378) Posted by --B-- on August 21st, 2007 @ 2:53pm CDT I think that this will be a pick and choose line for a lot of people. I'll reserve judgement on Megs here until I see the final product. | |

QFT
lol. He dosnt look brilliant, and I hope he isnt actully blue, it dont suit him. Ive liked the larger Prime we've seen, its a shame there hasnt been a line since Armada (and I suspect that was a fluke) that has had a decent Prime AND Megatron toy.
| Re: Images of Transformers: Animated Megatron Toy Prototype (298468) Posted by Megatron Wolf on August 21st, 2007 @ 3:29pm CDT I hate to say it but the Movie Megatron is better than that. I hope Earth Megatron is way better. Other wise im screwed for Megatrons in the next toy line. Maybe this one will look better when its painted. I dont know the shape looks to kiddie for me.
Your kidding me right? Armada Prime sucked man. Megatron was good but Prime was crap. Cybertron Prime was better than armada. And have you forgotten the Classics line?

| Re: Images of Transformers: Animated Megatron Toy Prototype (298488) Posted by Ramrider on August 21st, 2007 @ 3:37pm CDT I'm not hating it. I'll be more interested once we see it in actual colours, though.
At first glance, I'd guess this was the Deluxe. If I remember it rightly, the Voyager Prime is the pre-Earth version, and the Voyager is the one from the main series; it'd be logical for Megatron to follow the same progression. But isn't this the same fig (albeit in purple) as the one we saw pics of a few weeks ago?
| Re: Images of Transformers: Animated Megatron Toy Prototype (298495) Posted by jaster_bensen on August 21st, 2007 @ 3:40pm CDT When i saw him with the cartoon previews the first thing i thought was; his alt mode is a Firefly ship from Serenity??
though it seems a lot of people dislike the Megs figure, personally i think there's more issues concerning the animated Optimus and BBee.

| Re: Images of Transformers: Animated Megatron Toy Prototype (298502) Posted by Talon523 on August 21st, 2007 @ 3:42pm CDT His earth mode will be better. That book cover showed him looking like G1. I think everyone will be happy to see that design. | |
| Re: Images of Transformers: Animated Megatron Toy Prototype (298505) Posted by Redimus GTS on August 21st, 2007 @ 3:43pm CDT
Oh yeah, Cyb Prime IS better than Armada Prime, but Armada Prime (imo) is a good toy. RiD: I dont care for Megatron, this less about my like of the toy, and more about me not thinking it is 'Megatron'. Armada: I like both. Energon: Terrible Prime Cybertron: Megs looks like the Batmobile after Uncron has spewed on it. Classics: OK, I didnt forget about them, they both are rather good in this line, but it isnt a main line, so dosnt ruin my point. Movie: EVERY version of Mevatron is rubbish.
| Re: Images of Transformers: Animated Megatron Toy Prototype (298506) Posted by Bumblethumper on August 21st, 2007 @ 3:44pm CDT I like the robot mode, as a simplification of the clutter of Movie Megatron, and I think it's a good idea that they're trying to meld what we saw in the movie into what will ultimately be a very G1 faithful Megatron like the book cover version seen recently.
The alt mode, obviously it sucks, but perhaps it's somehow mistransformed or maybe when we've seen the cartoon it'll make more sense.
| Re: Images of Transformers: Animated Megatron Toy Prototype (298527) Posted by Corrupted Rodimus on August 21st, 2007 @ 3:59pm CDT looks like he transforms into a shitter with a hovercraft lodged onto it. | |

True, but it's kind of ironic because it was always for Kids, but this incarnation tones things down too much. it's like a cartoon made for kids, but based on a cartoon for kids?
| Re: Images of Transformers: Animated Megatron Toy Prototype (298554) Posted by megatroptimus on August 21st, 2007 @ 4:12pm CDT
RID : excellent Prime, crap Megatron Armada : okay Prime, okay Megatron Energon : good Prime (tons of playability), good Megatron Cybertron : excellent Prime, good Megatron (bad ankles though) Classics : excellent Prime, excellent Megatron Movie : excellent Prime, good Megatron

No, we see photos of several painted figures, and so far the line sucks. I guess you didn't see those ComicCon galleries.
| Re: Images of Transformers: Animated Megatron Toy Prototype (298625) Posted by Overcracker on August 21st, 2007 @ 4:40pm CDT This figure, is either not Megatron, or a pre earth Cybertronian mode. Because comparing there animated design to the this figure, I see no likeness whatsoever:
I kinda get the feeling this figure is Shockwave, not Megatron.
| Re: Images of Transformers: Animated Megatron Toy Prototype (298633) Posted by Night~GONE on August 21st, 2007 @ 4:41pm CDT
Yet you havent played with the toys either. I think they all look awsome. But yet again toys are for kids and cartoons are for kids so they have to be apealing to the larger aduince instead of the grumpy old me.
| Re: Images of Transformers: Animated Megatron Toy Prototype (298653) Posted by Ddave on August 21st, 2007 @ 4:51pm CDT
Ha, I agree. Even if everyone on this site thought these molds were trash, Hasbro would still make a killing, because this show is not going to be marketed for 15-40 year olds, but under 12's, and is going to have a prime time spot on cartoon network. A prodominant childrens show network, with a toy line that 99% of buyers will be little kids (or the parents of). I find it funny how much grown adults can whing and bitch about how a toy looks. The only reason why? Its because you can. Majority are going to take back what they said in a few months anyway. When all the movie line toys were coming out, all I saw was no stop threads about how much they all sucked. Now majority of those people bashing them months ago, now own them all, and love them (par a few). Its just the early stages of a pathetic fanboyism. Be happy that they are taking the time to make a new series, with new toys. Just wait til they come out, and you have it infront of you, in your sweaty little palms to bash it then.... Its a proto ffs...
| Re: Images of Transformers: Animated Megatron Toy Prototype (298658) Posted by Ragnorok64 on August 21st, 2007 @ 4:52pm CDT Exactly. First thing I thought when I saw this was "this has got to be Shockwave." Seriously he share so many designs aspects with shockwave it's hard to believe him to be Megatron.
Compare the face, chest, and weapon design.
| Re: Images of Transformers: Animated Megatron Toy Prototype (298674) Posted by Blurrz on August 21st, 2007 @ 4:58pm CDT VOLTRON!
I will most likely enjoy the Animated series, but I think the toys are going to the s%^$'s
| Re: Images of Transformers: Animated Megatron Toy Prototype (298675) Posted by CircaNOW73 on August 21st, 2007 @ 4:59pm CDT i think it looks horrible, ive seen some of the others and they have potential, iwould drop $2 for this pitiful toy. isnt magatron supposed to be villainous, frightening, scary, tough, intimidating, etc..??? this lil dude is none of the above. | |
| Re: Images of Transformers: Animated Megatron Toy Prototype (298682) Posted by 1337W422102 on August 21st, 2007 @ 5:00pm CDT We've seen two Megatron designs, this blue one and the one of him with the sword. I'm not sure what all this Shockwave stuff is about. | |
| Re: Images of Transformers: Animated Megatron Toy Prototype (298690) Posted by Immortal Starscream on August 21st, 2007 @ 5:03pm CDT
i agree in some ways. the big armada optimus fell short for me some, but bendy prime made up for it. some fans cant tell the diffrence, or rather dont want to, between a cool transformer, and a great toy. me, i look at everything all in all. look, feel, playability. thats why i also agree movie megatrons toys = epic fail. i had my hopes up greatly for those toys, as i have always voiced that the designs looked cool even if i didnt think they suited megatron. and the toys are horrible and a great let down
this is megatron duing most of the first season, we saw unpainted protos of this at botcon, and again at sdcc. both prime and megs have a deluxe size pre earth form. i like it actualy, nice blend of movie and g1, without looking like a freakish baby eating monster made of metal shards. i say give the show and toys a chance before you pass judgement. beastwars surprised people, and apperently, so has the movie.

I'm trying. But from what i've seen (and yes Night~Flare, sorry to disappoint you but my opinion is based on more than just this picture) i'm not particulary liking what i've seen so far.
