Courtesy of the Planet Iacon facebook page we an image of what could be artwork for an upcoming Asian exclusive box set of Classic Seekers. The art features all six Seekers and has the bears the Transformers Asia watermark at the top of the image. Chalk this one up as a rumor until confirmed, but this does seem to fall in line with their model of reissuing older releases with updated decos into the Asian market. Check out the artwork below.

I can imagine Skywarp and Ramjet possibly being redecos. The rest might just be straight re-releases of their previous Universe and Generations decos.

Agreed; after seeing that our next Constructicon reissue has a new noggin that makes me feel better about passing up CrazyDevy's upgrades, I was kind of hoping some sort of exclusive seeker set would include Rainmakers and a lot more orange and purple. Now THAT, I would buy to make my army even bigger; this looks like 6 guys I pretty much have already, though some of us missing 1 or 2 could probably justify getting the whole set just to fill their gap.
I mean, the recent explosion of Knock-Offs of original 3rd party sculpts only makes an existing moral minefield even more tangled, but the official companies actually learning from 3rd parties and KO-meisters and incorporating their ideas into reissues wouldn't exactly be theft, but rather 2 wrongs making a right, right? Come on, masterpiece dino-combiner cassettes, don't let last year's s#!t-storm and sacrifice have been all for nothing...

All I really need is a slightly better version of Skywarp than my KO, which is still pretty good.
I'd consider getting this just to keep them in the box, but it depends on price, which I can only assume will be astronomical.

They all look like they're going to be heavily based on the cartoon.
Starscream - slightly different details and (likely) shades then the Henkei figure (no chrome?)
Thundercracker - slightly different details and (likely) shades then the Henkei figure (no chrome?)
Skywarp - different color purple, purple arm cannons (instead of partly black) and purple shoulders.
Ramjet - red wings like Henkei (presumably), all gray fists, white forearms, gray waist and upper legs. Presumably he'd have white feet.
Dirge - tan wings, all gray fists, gray forearms, gray waist and upper legs. Presumably his feet would be gray too (but that seems a bit unlikely due to the mold break down).
Thrust - I pray for white or silver wings. Based on the picture he has all gray fists, gray forearms, red waist and upper legs. His feet should be red but if his forearms are gray that might not be true.
All the coneheads look to have blue windows.

So... Apparently this is a boxed set of al 6 figues. Damn, I don't want to even think of the price.
I doubt its popularity, since most collectors would at least have a few seekers already...

Already have all the classic seekers so not to intrested in this. Wish they would do Generic seekers instead. Id love to have an army of them i didnt have to repaint myself

The G2 Starscream is a pretty solid match for that hot-pink USA version. The only thing it lacked was the camo stickers. Maybe ReproLabels will come through with some of those.
Our G2 lineup could stand for a Starscream, since we already have a G2 Ramjet, Megatron, Prime, Jazz...
Oh yeah, and I'd love to see a mainstream G2 Classics Sideswipe release.

I may be a sucker for the seekers, but this one I'll pass on. I already have those from Hasbro (including the second Starscream, with coronation outfit), and the Henkie ghost of Starscream. No need in buying them again. Now if they would get around to a Sunstorm............

My favorite was actually that lavender seeker. I'd been wanting one of those since DAY ONE when I watched that three-part debut show. Come on Hasbro. They're troop builders!!! Heck. They could issue a box set with each seeker mold as a lavender guy, and I'd buy them again.

I'd be tempted. If the price isn't ridiculous, and Ramjet and Skywarp are nice, and Starscream is more like the Universe or Henkei ones than the original Classics release. Pretty happy with my Gen Dirge, Thurst and Cracker. If they're all pretty toon accurate, I might bite.
Wouldn't mind a set of generic purple/lavender Seekers as well. Hasbro's done troop builder multipacks in the GI Joe and Star Wars lines for years. Admittedly there are less opportunities in the TF franchise (the WFC and FOC games notwithstanding) but there are the plain Seekers, Rainmakers maybe, Junkions (c'mon, there's at least 3 head molds, knock up a couple more and get it on!) and maybe even Autotroopers in the form of the Universe Prowl mold, or RTS Jazz. A new Sharkticon wouldn't go amiss either.

I'd take some of that. Like you say, this is a cool idea, but given the prevalence of this Seeker mold over the last few years how desirable would this set be? Chances are collectors are only missing one or two of these characters. Is it worth coughing up for all six? A Rainmakers set, add in Slipstream, Sunstorm and someone else and I'd be all over it.

I'd love a Classics Slipstream based on the usual Seeker mold. But it'd really have to be almost entirely remolded. The only things I can see them really preserving are the null rays. the nosecone (save for the head part), the back, and the thrusters. They'd have to copy the back of the legs and rely on a lot of relief work to give her a remotely feminine look while retaining the vehicle mode. Bit it may be possible since most of the body is stuck inder the jet.
This would be a pretty cool set, if that's what it is. I already have all the figures, but this is heads and tails better than getting KOs. And it's good timing since said KOs aren't quite as prevelant as they used to be.

Can anyone confirm that? I'd also rule out flat reissues. They put out G1 Optimus prime every couple years. :-p Talking about repaints and redecos here.

If they had been really smart with this set, they would have done a cross set where it was Starscream, Thundercracker and Skywarp paired up with 3 new Seekers and a separate set with Ramjet, Dirge and Thrust along with Sunstorm and 2 others.

I own 20 official Hasbro and Takara Tomy uses of the Starscream/Ramjet mold. Would love to get Sunstorm out of all of this one day.
If they had been really smart with this set, they would have done a cross set where it was Starscream, Thundercracker and Skywarp paired up with 3 new Seekers and a separate set with Ramjet, Dirge and Thrust along with Sunstorm and 2 others.
I can't help but think that Sunstorm would be a PERFECT choice for the Transformers Collectors' Club Subscription Service. Make it happen TCC!

I dunno, I personally hate exclusives, it's just an excuse to charge three times the price for the same amount of plastic.
As for this set, it's still cool for those that want it. I definitely don't need it. Judging by the pic it looks like the original three are based on their Henkei paint jobs but without the chrome.

Yeah, losing the chrome is actually a HUGE plus IMHO. Not to mention show-accurate decos... I hated the lightening deco on Thrust.

Owning about 33 versions of this mold (Hasbro,Takara,CHMS) I am a sucker for seekers. But Im not wasting $150-$200 on a set just to have the "no chrome" option as a varriant. If e-bay dealers break up the set, I might consider Thrust and Dirge if they dont have annoying graphics on the wings.

Seekers are the wrong toy to make exclucives of. At least of the main 6. Just release the main six at regular retail and be done with it.
Still, I think G2 Ramjet and AM Thundercracker worked out really well. Seems like they are just making minor repaints to the same exact character that has been previously released. But something like the seekers already have loads of releases, like you said, so I can't imagine this selling well.
They should just make Toxitron from RTS Prime... That way I'll actually buy something.

Putting out the full set of seekers should ALWAYS be the plan from the start. They can make an exclusive VS set to round out the less popular ones as a store exclusive ....or a full set like this one... OR just friggin put them out on the shelf.... but they can't just put out a couple of seekers and call it done.

And thinking about it, these ARE from HasbroAsia, right? It IS a 4th company. (Hasbro, Takara/Tomy, TFCC, HasbroAsia.) Each makes its own business plan, toy lines, exclusives, sculpts (at times)... It's clear why odd things like this happen, and why it's confusing to collectors. Each is thinking about its own market and what will sell. With the internet, we monitor all four companies and what they are doing overseas, and it looks like a big mess.
If we knew better what was going on in the 80s, we'd have pitched the same fits. Why did Canada get Diakrons in this color?! We didn't get a yellow Trailbreaker!? Peru colored minibots! Why did we get shafted??? And we've been waiting years for a red Tracks! Where is our Salt Man Z!
