I will admit that this isn't the best figure to grace the Transformers toy line
However, I do like this figure. It's original. There's no other Transformer figure like this.
I'm sure some of you won't like Alpha Q because he's not a "Transformer".
But Alpha Q is a very relevant character from the Energon series - it's great to have a physical toy of this character.
I'd like to continue to support Hasbro and Takara for producing some of the non-transforming Transformers characters from the shows.
It's also nice to finally have a toy version of the Quintessons. Sure it's not like the original Quints, but Alpha Q will do for the time being.
This is a close-up of the button / trigger that you push to rotate Alpha Q's 3 different faces.
My opinion on the "saw"? Well, I'm sure the kids will like it as Alpha Q carves up his victims.
It's just there to add play value for the kids. Does it detract from the toy? No, it does not.
Personally, I would've preferred that all 3 of Alpha Q's tentacles looked like this.
I'm not sure I understand the point of having ports for the Energon chips ... but that's what the ports are there for.
