APS-01 Striker Optimus Prime Teaser

I so wanted a Premium Series for the DOTM line.
I hope this makes it's way to U.S. retail, maybe under the Generations line.

Interested in what the final product is. I liked Striker Prime but didn't get him. I'd like to see a more faithful representation of his movie deco.

OK, since I missed the first release, I may get this to display with my Buster Prime. Buster can be in alt mode, Striker in bot.

I wonder after hasbros amazons jetwing, striker optimus will be released as an exclusive through them

He gonna be detailed like buster? Cool. the extra weapon probably the swords.

Pre-order please? Man I could only hope for a chromed up version like Buster on the striker mold.

considering most of the asian releases are being released here I would say yes.

Plus I bet most of our sponsors will be getting a few.

I have Buster Prime version 2.

The Jetwing isn't movie accurate, this Striker version is just silly. Release all the parts in one package, and make them movie accurate. Not one of the older designs.

Something really went wrong with the DOTM line, only the bodies look fairly screen accurate, but the guns and addons are all way of. Why?????

TransformersAsia.com have published the first images of the upcoming Asian market exclusive APS-01 Striker Optimus Prime. This limited edition will feature premium packaging, metallic paint, chrome, and his battle blades! He's scheduled for an Asian release on September 30th.

Well, it's exactly what I was asking for. If it ends up being within the realm of reasonably priced imports, I'm in. Looks nice, I am impressed.

If only this had white outlines around the flames this would have been the ultimate version of a movie Optimus. I don't know what to do.

Here's my problem with this, to me Optimus was never super shinny and chromed up, his legs and arms were a dirty metallic/metal. Yes his grill on his truck mode was chrome and looked cool but the main selling point of this is that his body is all silver and chrome but Prime never looked that way in the film. I'm not saying this dose not look good, the paint and such looks fantastic but I'm just not a fan of it. I missed the first striker but to me he looks a little more accurate. The darker plastic make it look more like the CGI. The only problem is the original cost an arm and a leg and if your like me and want the extra battle blades, his axe, and his shield it costs more than $200. If this is cheap enough I might get him, one of my main fears though is the chrome on the bottom of his feet getting scratched up, and right now I don't have enough space to make a proper display for him, so he'll end up in a box with the rest of my Transformers which will not be good for that chrome. Only time will tell, the price might completely sway my opinion but for now I'm sticking with the original....... Takara makes things so difficult.

So Takara, if the DOTM line is still active in your area, can you make DOTM Megs and Shockwave (in Leader size), Deluxe and HA Mirage, HA Que, Topspin, Armored Leadfoot, Crowbar, Leader Blackout (the size of Battle Ops Bee), and Leader Fallen? Pllllllllllleeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaassssssssssssssssse

I promise to give you some tips on designing your toys.

he does have metalic greys in the movie. But what the toys get wrong is the shade of red and blue. The original striker has a great blue but wasnt dark enough, and the redneeds to be more like a ferrari red but darker. Then again red is a hard color to match. Adding a little black to darken red paint can make it look dull instead of just darkenin it

not to throw this off topic, but I am disgruntled at knowing we won't be getting figures that need to be done, like Leader Blackout, HA Topspin and Voyager Crankcase/Dred.

one of the leader class figure i wanted but never got, if this is priced fairly i might have to look into it.

I actually prefer the original striker prime, like what Blurrz said it's like Buster prime all over again and since I have both DA-28 and Buster prime, I see no real reason to get this. But of course for those who missed DA-28, this is a good buy for them.

Having a shield and gun did not sell me previously, and the shiny paintjob is still not working for me. With Ultra Magnus priced around $85, I doubt this will be anywhere within my price range, plus, 3 ROTF Prime molds are abit too much IMO.

Unless this thing is below $140USD, I have no interest.

As previously reported this redeco of DOTM Striker Optimus Prime will see limited production, comes in premium packaging, features metallic paint/chrome, and comes with the exclusive battle blades. Looks reeeally good. I need to get some money together for that guy.

I'd like a version of this mold that has both the Striker and Jetwing accessories. Heck, I'd even take a version of Jetwing prime that has chrome parts.

i wonder if you can use the buster gun on this version( i mean, replace the gas tanks) that would make this the ultimate movie optimus version(well, the striker with the swords, the buster gun, jetfire and the jetwing XD) but seriously, i have wondering that since the first striker version came out

They thinned out the pinstripe on the flames which is good but its blue again.looks better white.
I liked the darker blue and grey on the original mold

I refuse to shell out for another version of the movie Op, but I'd love this as a kit.

At first, I wanted him because he is a very impressive piece. Then I saw how much he would cost me if I wanted to add him to my collection. Now I am thinking "Maybe not" because he costs more than what I paid for my "2010" Predaking set.

Okay... Granted, I got that piece on sale. But even then... It is the same price as the set originally cost! I mean... I guess I'll look for another piece to add to my collection.

Expensive, superior exclusives! But still... Stuff like this makes me wish that Hasbro would step up their game. If not, then I need to make one of those commercials showing poor collectors who get stuck with what Walmart (who had a nice, basic exclusive of this version of Optimus Prime) and Target give us!

Besides, I am hoping that if Takara Tomy reissues this into the Japanese market, that they use the same gold detailing used on the Walmart exclusive variant of him. I mean...

I'm having a real hard time ignoring this now. There's still not one version of a movie Optimus which contains all the features that I like, but this one might have the most prominent ones. I don't like the handheld blades, but I do like that they've got the silver detailing. It's got a facemask, pinstriping (albeit pale blue and not white) and the DoTM abdomen. Yeah it doesn't have the Buster's brilliant gun, but if that fella here on the forums mass produces his custom guns that'll sort that out.

Can someone tell me why Robotkingdom sells these for $50 less than TFSource or BigBadToyStore? And do all of those sites ship to the U.S.? And is there a customs or import tax coming from Japan?

First off, it's only a $40 difference and this is an asian market exclusive which doesn't include Japan. Robotkingdom is based in Hong Kong and yes they do ship to the U.S. which will run about $26 and some change.

BBTS and TFSource are both U.S. based so it goes without saying they ship to the U.S. They also have higher importing costs as well as your usual mark up for profit which accounts for the difference in price. There may or may not be other factors that I am not considering but those are the main ones.

The U.S. also doesn't have any customs or import tax so that question is no.

U.F.O. Unknown Factory Originals - War Axe For DOTM Leader Class Optimus Prime.

Can you remove some of the grey paint around the edges to make it appear to be glowing? If so, is there a "right" way, or just paint remover and patience?

Our first image comes to us from the Hobby Ark Toy Store facebook page, and gives a look at the figure's packaging. The second image, courtesy of the Planet Iacon facebook, is of the actual figure. The figure is scheduled to release on November 7th.

I put this on my Christmas list. My girl keeps pretty much assuring me I'm getting it. We'll see. Looks pretty awesome.

It's just buster with a shield and gun...

I still want the option to pull out the smokestacks to use the Jetwings backpack and the Buster Gun.
