Transformers fan site and 3rd Party toy producer/distributor TFClub have a new auction over at TaoBao.com. The auction is for a rare prototype of the Deluxe Class Classics Optimus Prime from the Optimus Prime vs Megatron DVD 2-pack. According to TFClub probably no more than 20 in existence.

I always thought this figure had a really excellent robot mode, save for the kibble on the back. It's the alt mode that looks awful. Almost Kreo-ish.
I'm tempted to pick him up, if only to display in bot mode.

It's waist rotates 360 for the 'battle action' and does not always click into place front forward.
The alt mode is very piece meal, and not a very smooth rendition of the truck. And it's small.

Ok, a few minutes ago, the headline said this was a KO. Now it says it's a rare prototype?

As far as the mold, twisty chest gimmick aside, I like it. Great robot mode, truck mode is ok. I prefer the voyager mold for Nemesis though, more fitting.

There was some confusion with the translation initially. One of staff members who can read Chinese straightened it out. According to TFClub it's a prototype of the original.

I've had four different versions of this mold and NONE of them have ever not just spun around constantly. I really hate "action features". They almost always ruin the figure's aesthetics. It's really not such a bad interpretation aside from that flaw, there are worse.

You can stop the torso from spinning by pulling the action feature's button till it clicks. Locks it into place nicely. I think that was left out of the instructions.

The action feature can be disabled, as has been said many times since the mold first debuted, pull back on the black tab with a little force until it clicks and the torso will stop spinning and lock in place. It does have a little but a very little give though, but its for the most part static.

I like this robot mode, a really good nicely sized rendition of G1 Prime. Not concerned about a black repaint mind you. G2 Prime is the one I want repainted black, even if they must call it Nemesis Prime, it'll be RiD Scourge to me.

I think at one point I discovered this without knowing the cause, but could never recreate the effect so quit trying. Not exactly intuitive… Live and learn.
