"Autobots Roll Out!" New Footage of ROTF Autobot Vehicles

Jalopnik.com has posted a video of the new Autobot vehicles from Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. The footage shows the vehicles driving around the various filming locations of the movie, including Egypt and Miami (as Shanghai).
The video features Sideswipe (Corvette Stingray concept), Skids (Chevy Spark), Mudflap (Chevy Trax), Jolt (Chevy Volt) as well as returning Autobots Bumblebee, Ironhide and Optimus Prime. Ratchet is, as usual, conspicuously absent.

just before the clip ends, i think you can see a glimpse of ratchet behind jolt just before he parks.

My theory is that the movie opens with the action sequence in Shanghai - without Ratchet. When the Autobots come back to North America, Ratchet is waiting for them at the military base. That would explain his absence in all the Shanghai scenes, since he was on set for all the Egypt stuff, which I assume is for the Really Big Fight at the End.
And for obvious reasons, Arcee(s) is/are also absent (non-GM vehicles, and having to pay stunt drivers).

I caught that glimpse of Ratchet too. I had to watch it a few times. I thought that would make him a gonner.

During the many shots sweeping in front of the cars, I kept getting the feeling that it was meant to showcase the GM logos. Very distracting.

Yup! I'm glad it wasn't just me. That was a good choice, bringing that part of the movie score from TF1 in to play in the background.
The worst thing about all of this is having to wait til the end of June to see all of the bits and pieces we get come together. I can usually maintain a high level of patience and composure for just about anything, even opening presents at christmas, but this is something I just can't wait for.

i to saw rachet it looks like he small upgrade just like bumblebee his top of his truck mode looks bigger than shown in the first film and he looks some what smaller in lenghth as well could be the angle but i know i saw more stuff piled on top of him when in truck mode.

The Jalopnik website does state "we also got the following never-seen-before sneak-peek footage from Transformers 2, courtesy of the bowtied boys at Chevrolet"
It does make for a nice car commercial.

The green one is Skids (Chevy Trax) and the reddish-orangy one is Mudflap (Chevy Beat), I believe.

i'll never understand the complaints about it being a car commercial. whether for this movie or even the first.
some of the characters in the movie turn INTO cars, of course they're gonna show them off like that. its no different than the cartoons showing them driving around. they have an alt mode so it kind makes sense and its expected that they show it off.
but thats just me.
but even beyond that bit of common sense, didnt bay direct car commercials in the past? would make sense for that part of him to be resurrected when he deals with cars in his movies.

Well I remember when Transformers came out in 07 GM was using Transformers in adds and things of that nature. They had Backgrounds for computers that you could download.....I know i have them
I think GM should use the footage as marketing....since the american economy and automakers are kinda in the toliet.

Felt like more of a teaser commercial for the Chicago Auto Show to me, since the new 'bot cars will be there *wants to go so bad* It works as enough of a teaser for me until Friday when the trailer comes out

We had plenty of Sideswipes without Sunstreakers over the years - and nobody seemed to mind then.
