I can't say I'm fond of Binaltech packaging. It feels very stale and bland to me.

whats the differnce between this version & the version thats out now?
is this the version that will be coming to the us in stores is that why its differnt?

judging by the ship weight, this version is die cast(similar to wonderfest bt black convoy). The previous versions of prime(alt and kp)were both plastic.
It is a binaltech and therefore will NOT be in US stors, save for specialty shops that import it.

I am glad that they are using the same style packaging. I hate it when the style of packaging changes during a series. This packaging has been pretty good too, since it doubles as a storage case and it has a decent window.

Yes, and no. It's the first general release. There was a BT- Nemesis Convoy that was a Wonderfest Exclusive.
Kiss Play Convoy which included the surfboard sword of death was technically not a BT release.

It would be nice to see a comparison of the die-cast parts between BT22 and BT17 
BT17 weighed 1Kg or 2 Pounds, I pray BT22 is the same but just different colouring since BT17 is impossible to buy anymore (under $500 that is) ....

I like the color WAY better than my alt version, that one was too orange. But not enough to pay the premium for importing him.

Convoy looks great! but not enough to displace my alt prime from my collection. I wouldn't mind Takara doing another round with this mold and repaint and remold the head into Rodimus Prime.
