Hopefully the dollar stays at a reasonable level so I can afford to otherwise I need to save up more money to cover my butt.I wanna get the Primus package for this. I was talking to one of my "aunts" yesterday about doing this( she has known me for years and loves that Im proud of my nerdiness she said go for it. Of course the parents won't like this idea thinks Im a immature little girl.
Well the good news is we already know the date and location so you can start planning now..At least it's not last minute. The earlier you book flights the better. I was worried about cash this year as well but it turned out to not to a huge issue..The key is to know what you want and stick to it...
I know with the add-ons and stuff it came to about $230..So figure $350(primus)+$230 starting cost( unless they somehow lower the prices LoL)

This Botcon has been pretty good and well-run IMO. I look forward to California, take 2

Don't get me started. The Midwest especially gets ZERO love from BotCon...in addition we really don't have our own con while every other region of the country does. So we get it up the back door twice over.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing.
No offense to Californians, but there are plenty other places they could hold this event..

Well the midwest region gets Dairy-Con. While I know a lot of people on here could care less about it, I honestly would love to attend it. The farce type nature of the event has always appealed to me. And i'm STILL hunting a Toiletbot. And let me clarify on my original post some, so as not to offend too many people. I have lived most of my life in the woods essentially & everywhere in California i've been was way too crowded(i'm somewhat prone to S.A.D.). I would love to go hang out with the Seibertron members but I really do wish they would have a Botcon in a bit more, shall we say, sparse location.

I was completely crushed that I couldn't go this year - just couldn't justify the funds to go. But at least the date and the place is set and I've already got the BotCon fund going. Wow, now the hard part starts - waiting until next June!

Well back when it was run by 3H Productions it was rather frequently held around the midwest... 'Course they went bankrupt. But still, It would be nice to have one someplace closer like Minnesota or Indiana again.
I mean, wouldn't be easier for people on either coast to get there that way?
Eh, I'm probably wrong about that.

Oh and a warning for those who are gonna try the whole "visit friends and family and go to botcon" thing..I give you fair warning..IT IS TOUGH! I tried it this year and wow..I wish I had stayed at the hotel!

Looks like the drought continues for ole FB. 3 years without Botcon is killer. Hopefully they skip Orlando in 2012 (*eyeroll*) and go someplace with some actual significance. Ya know, like a place that's actually being used in TF3 like Chicago or Milwaukee.

FP knows that orlando and pasadena are cash cows..Especially for the general admission crowd..I heard rumors floating about the swan this year that another site was lexington kentucky or ohio..
What was funny is most of the time when someone mentioned the movie no one wanted to talk about it..Not in the traditional sense because of spoilers but they seemed to generally just not want to talk about it...

I'd also be happy with it in New Orleans(where I'm originally from and still have family to crash with).

I don't think New Orleans will ever happen. Dallas or Atlanta make a lot more sense for them. Shame, 'cause I could just stay in Houma or Laffy if they came to NO.
The toys would have to be really something I wanted to go to a Botcon at all though. I could have made it this year. My family left Friday to vacation in Florida anyway, but for that kind of cost and having to deal with Orlando and yucky toys... no thanks.

I'll be able to visit my cousin again like I did last time it was in Pasadena. I enjoyed Pasadena alot last time and the rooms at the Sheraton have been the largest botcon rooms I've been to. Could fit 6 people comfortably! I'm set for Wed June 1- Sun June 5th. Hoping I can get into the custom class again.
Maybe I can crash with you guys few nights since the rooms are all full.

I'm sure the PDX area must have convention centers big enough for it. And no sales tax!

The area is really easy to get around in. It's pretty cool actually. The problem is getting from the airport to the convention center. It's a decent sized trip.

Thank god that they gave us 11 months to plan for this! It'll take me some time to come up with airfare (driving is out of the question this time!), but I HAVE to try! Just had too much derned fun at this past BotCon....Feel compelled to attend again!

Defintely Joe!! We actually have an abundance of rooms. I have one, Demonicfirefly has one, and xZAOx has one as well. And we have all roomed with each other in the past. We just decided to snag up some rooms just in case. But not sure if we will all be using them. Better to have and not need, then need and not have right? So we have 2 dbl rooms booked and 1 single room. So you are in man!! It's all good.
