First we get a look at what the designers were planning for the interior of the Stingray revamp.
The Designers were looking to channel the original Stingray in a futuristic design. Here we get a concept image of the two seating vehicle from an aerial perspective.
Sleek new "racing" seats were considered to give the driver full driving comfort with ideal support for handling the sports car.
Here are what the actual seats with dashboard look like in all black.
Workers craft the prototype mold of the Corvette.
Designers stand next to a prototype hood for the Corvette along with a look at the rear of the vehicle, or Sideswipes chest.
Sideswipes "Wings".
And we get a look at promo images for the Stingray.
For those of you that just can't get enough of this amazing car, check out these videos giving details on the cars interior and "transforming" capabilities:
A very special thanks to General Motors and the GM Team, Stephen Gray and Robin Henderson for making this possible. Learn more about the Corvette Stingray Concept by visiting Cheverolet.com

My thoughts exactly, I was able to see the Stingray in person....it's just soooooo captivating to just look at. I mean, I must have stood out there for a good 15-20 min just looking and taking pictures of the beautiful car. The hood pic featured here seems a tad huge though. I don't remember the Stingray being that large, and I was pretty much standing next to it. That or that guy is very tiny.
But so what if the car is tiny....still just as appealing, even if I can't fit into it ha ha ha....

Josh

Epic car real shame it was never put into production would have been fantabulous to see how the Stig drove it round the top gear track (for all us Brits anyway)
*returns to drooling over pictures*

Yeah they need make a production line of it stat! It totally looks like the Mach 5 from speed racer, if you put the right colors on it you'd totally see it with right paint job. (though Id prefer silver anyways.)
I've never had that probelm Josh, I'll gladly take it off your hands hehe. As a wolverine sized guy(5'4"), it's perfect. I might need a shorter girlfriend though, since she complains same thing cars being too small/or low to ground at 6'4". Sorry baby, I going out with Sideswipe to score some honeys and damn are we good. (I kid I kid, please don't slag me.)
It's a sweet ride, I'd like see more of it and Sideswipe in the next movie for sure.

Oh no you don't! I might not fit into it but I'll still find a way to drive it by God!
I'm also a lone wolf, so Ive never had an issue with what the miss thinks. I'd say this car looks to be the size of a honda Civic Hatchback....and I have a friend who drove one of those and while I was straddling the car door prepping to do camera moves for the car chase for my short film, my feet could still touch the ground, in fact all I had to do to get out of the car through her window was stand up......funny stuff.
So I'd probably drive this car in the same fashion.
The only dilemma here is the same I had with the Camaro, I don't trust myself with it. But then again, the blasted thing isn't even in production so....all we have are dreams.
*Sigh*

They only made the car for the ROTF.Don't get why they paid so much money to make a car for a movie when they will not make it..waste of money and advertisement. Then again it is Chevy..they obviously like wasting money. Anyways, question is this..think he will become a real Corvette? Or what Chevy do you think he will be? Possible he may stay the same, but who knows. They obviously won't make him what he is suppose to be.
The cars sole purpose was not just for ROTF. It was a concept car already in the process of being built that they decided to use as a character.
99% of concept cars no matter who the manufacturer is are never put into production. There are a few exceptions (Chevy Camaro, Dodge Challenger, Dodge Viper, Chrysler Prowler) There purpose is to gage interest in new designs as well as new technology. Though you'll probably never see This exact Corvette go to production, you might start seeing similar design cues such as the real lights or gull wing doors in future Corvette models. It all depends on the public's reaction. The ford mustang took its design ques heavily from its concept back in 03'.
Also this will be great advertisement for GM. People will instantly recognise it as the "car from transformers". So it won't be the waste of money that you seem to think it is.

I wouldn't say made only for transformers, but that is what the rumor is going around in all the car mags. Car and driver..and such. I do think it is possible they may make it. The demand is there. I only think it is a waste of money if they decide not to make it. Now that the Camaro is out...Corvette sales have been and are hurting. They need to do something to bring it out of the fire...it would be a waste of money if they did nothing with that stingray. Advertising a concept such as being in Transformers with no intention of making it.....that is dumb. I know this from all my car reading. They are going to change the Corvette. They are going to put a way bigger motor in it. The Camaro comes to close to the performance of the Corvette, so they want the Corvette to be once again the "super car" of GM. The main point of my last post is this. If they do decide not to make the Stingray concept, I do not see them using it in the next movie. At the same time I don't see them changing it either. Honestly with Bay who knows. He likes to change everything, so all in all we just have to live with it.

At least this thing really does exist. It's a ZR1 Corvette. Starts around $100,000.00!

A better color is this custom color redish here: http://www.chevrolet.com/corvette-zr1/pictures/
I personally like this better than the Stingray. If the Stingray was a little more aggressive looking then I wouldn't care. The thing I just don't like is the Silver. Just feels like the transformers are all like power rangers now. They all have to be completely different colors.

If they would of had this one in the movie I'm sure they would of sold a few more of these. This is just an opinion. I don't like Sideswipe being Silver, so I would rather this, or a red stingray at least.

Sorry to who made this topic. This was merged from a topic I made that had nothing to do with the Concept car you posted. I guess any topic about Sideswipe should also be moved here? Some people are just too ignorant. Apparently I can not get any proper feedback on my topic because it would be considered "off topic" or "spam" towards your topic. Sorry again. I had nothing to do with this and again, I did not post this here. I have reported it. We shall see how far it goes.

Waste of money? You obviously don't understand the premises of a concept car. Just because they don't build the complete concept car, does not mean its a waste. As i said in a previous post, 99% of concept cars never see the light of day. The purpose of them are to gauge interest in new designs and technologies. To give the public something to talk about. So while you may, or may not see the stingray in the next few years, you can bet that you will see some design aspects make it into the C7 Corvette designs.

Ya I apologize for the confusion. I read a few articles that said it was only made for the movie. After that I stumbled upon some actually GM statements that said other wise. Totally my fault. By a waste of money I mean it is a waste of money to advertise a car that is not being made, when they could of advertised a car that is not seen much and made money off of it. Like the ZR1 Corvette. Many people haven't seen one of the newer ones. For example: They have sold many "Bummblebee package" Camaros because of the movie. People just have the ones they see in the movie.(Sadly I don't think this worked out for the (Ironhide package".) Does that make sense?
So yes I was wrong about it the first place. I try to read things from the most reliable sources and sometimes they make mistakes also. The Car mag(Road and Track I think. I have many.) I have somewhere around here also says they made it for the ROTF, but I think they meant that they made that specific one for ROTF. Thanks for bringing that to my attention so I could clear that up.

All good. All cleared up now. No biggie.

I agree that the ZR1 would have been a better choice for Sideswipe. Though considering the price, i really don't think it would have helped its sales. The ZR1 is a limited edition "super vette" e with a $100,000 price tag to boot. Its a niche vehicle. People in the know or who are seriously interested are going to purchase it whether or not it was in a movie about transforming alien robots.
The Camaro on the other hand is a $25, to $35,000 vehicle that attainable buy the average buyer. It was a completely new vehicle (unlike the Vette) to the general public. People saw it on the big screen, and went nuts cause it was something new....
And it looked pretty damn good too!

I have yet to see one Bumble bee package Camaro on the road. But i do see the Camaro in general more and more every day. especially now that there ramping up production.
The "Ironhide" Kodiak package was a bit like the Zr1 was more of a "niche" vehicle due to its practicality and price tag. $80,000 is alot to pay for a vehicle that has no practical use for the average consumer. While the idea was cool, i knew the idea wouldn't last more than a year or so.
