Hot on the heels of the recent news of
Hasbro version of Legend Class Devastator gift set, Takara Tomy surely will cause dilemma to potential buyers by introducing the G1 coloured repaint version of EZ Devastator.

Thanks to Famitoy for the image, we get to see the new picture of the repainted version. The release date tentatively will be on March 2010.

Nope, those would be the two different G2 colour schemes, which could still combine.

The one thing that made movie Dev's so cool was the ridiculously different construction vehicles in different colors coming together to form him.

I love G1, but this is a bit much.

this is why i dont like g1 colors on movie figures it looks bad and it doesnt look right vehical mode they look good but bot mode & combined form look like crap.

im surprised took this long to make devastator in g1 colors im shocked we didnt see one alot sooner ill stick wit movie colors

some figures cn get away with it prime bumblebee megatron starscream maybe but anyone else doest fit with me

The European edition of the yellow constructicons didn't have combiner parts, and some even had been retooled to not even be able to combine (Hook, if I remember right); but there were versions that were full accesoried.

I think I might end up getting that if Hasbro ever releases it in the U.S., but in the meantime I'm going to go ahead and buy the regular version.

Not to rain on anyone's parade, but is this image the only evidence anyone has? It's a really sloppy photoshop color substitution. You can see how they just desaturated an image of the original colors and put colored layers set to "multiply" over top of them. It's the purple that really gives it away.

I suppose it could really be coming out after all, but this photo isn't any sort of proof.

Dear God,

HOW COULD YOU LET THIS HAPPEN!?!?!? WHAT DID WE DO TO DESERVE THIS??!?!?!?

Holy crap is that thing fugly. I knew it was going to happen...just to appease the people screaming for the G1 repaints. And now it has...and it is NOT good. Let's just leave the G1 Constructicons where they were buried okay? And throw out the green and purple thing forever and ever.

Yea, the Photoshop job is weak, but it still looks better in the green & purple than I thought. I'll probably order this if BBTS picks it up.

Nah not that nice and I prefer the Movie one.. Anyways Hasbro may release these too.. so Should you buy the current one that is coming out? Make your choices..

Actually, there's a minor differences between EU "generic card" Constructicons, and the US G2 ones: The purple on the EU ones is the same as the G1 version, while the G2 version uses a paler purple.

I saw a custom repaint of ROTF Supreme Devastator to G1 colour. Personally i think it is quite nice.... Ain't bad at all...

I bought the movie Supreme combiner. I will get the smaller one in G1 colors if they release it here. If not, no big deal.

I actually think it is less interesting in the G1 colours.
Sadly, I have made a decision to cancel all my preorders because I am trying to move and am in University, so i won't even be getting the regular version that I oh so want right now.

I absolutely loathe the Supreme Class version as I think it looks more like a Fisher Price toy, but this one looks like it has some promise.
I think I'll end up ponying up for this one, and that price for an import is really not bad at all.

As with all ROTF Devastators we have seen thus far, the worst part is easily the head.

I'm a fan of the G1 colours of Devastator but I love the colour scheme of RotF Devastator. I'd love to have an EZ Dev in movie colours and another one in the G1 colours.

Pre-order placed, curse my obsession with G1! Wonder if they will release the supreme class Devy in G1 colors at some point. I'm guessing that might be too cost prohibitive.

It most likely is, but I know this is a legit set coming out because Mike from Digital Toys has confirmation on it.

I just hope the head is more black.
