FansProject Protector Armor Preorder is Up! Also a Targetmaster!

I was originally all over this, but due to the announcement of MP Rodimus, Takara will get my money this time around, sorry FP...

I will be getting the Target Master however!

I'm so excited for this set. I can't wait to have universes collide and have Protector fight Shadow Scyther!!!

Awesome! Now waiting on TFSource.

Also, that Targetmaster doesn't seem to look like the CG renderings we saw a few days ago. Now I wonder who is making him?

Fan-freaking-tastic! Fansproject has done it again! And here I thought there wasn't anything more they could do to surprise me. Boy, was I wrong! His Targetmaster partner not only transforms into the classic modes, he can man the battle station, AND combine with the wing parts to form a crossbow for an Animated Rodimus homage! Amazing!

My money is faithfully theirs.

Prices are very reasonable too. $82.99 plus $9.99 for a targetmaster-size figure? That I can do. (Yeah, I'm looking at you, Perfect Effect )

I thought the same prior to purchasing this...but I rather get this one and wait for the watered down Hasbro version in a year or too

Preordered. Fricking sweet! And it's nice that Sidearm will help further differentiate Protector from Scyther.

Ordered mine, I just hope that December release date isn't as far out as Crossfire's 4 month difference.

Have the G1, and despite digging this and the MP edition, I have to focus on the holes in the collection first. Will grab the Targetmaster though. That is a great price.

Meh I'll be okay. Only have to get about 4 presents and I usually get them in November regardless.

Pre-ordered both. If I am right are the "crossbow" attachments teh add-on wings for bot mode? similar to those on shadow scyther? Either way I am really craving some color photos here-or renderings like scyther.

"Extended wings are in Orange." As in, the Classics version? Funny seeing as how it looks like they're using the gold winged Henkei version in those pictures.

Looks like the orange comes with Protector and the chromed comes with Sidearm.

Not sure if this was posted elsewhere, but there were some comments about who "Guardian" is from the comic preview for Protector. It appears from this we can now say that Guardian is the battle station/trailer of Protector.

I found that interesting.

December is going to be one lean month. With Protector, Shadow Scyther and 2 Sidearms coming in... I am boned.

Im all over this..It's gonna be epic seeing shadow scyther and Protector side by side with Superion and Bruticus as well as the City, shadow and DIA commander sets..That is gonna be one epic shelf!

Wow, FP really knows how to make your dollar count. It's awesome that Firebolt is coming back, and great since I never had him the first place. Plus all those additional accessories just make pure WIN, and as always their accessory kits for their add-on kits are worth and affordable.


Hmmm... this guy looks a lot different from the CGI renders. I wonder if the CG one is FP, than is it an early concept render?

If not, I'd love to pick up the other guy, can never have enough modern Targetmasters.

I can't say that MP Roddy is a "watered down" version of this at all, though. In fact, MP Roddy tops it a little in that Roddy never needed armor to become Rodimus Prime and always needed the trailer to become his vehicle mode.

Nevertheless, this is a set I'm looking forward to!

To me the MP Rodimus is what it is supposed to be. MP Rodimus is what we saw in the movie and the series. I see FP's take as an armor for the newer Neo G1 version of Hot Rod...err...I mean Rodimus.


well I ordered two of those targetmaster sets, and one protector. Sweet ....

I think that when people were talking about a "watered down" MP Roddy, they meant that they would spend the money on this FP release of Protector and wait for the anticipated "Hot Rot" Masterpiece that Hasbro may release in the US as an exclusive; this MP Hot Rod (or maybe just "Rodimus") would be a "watered down" MP Roddy because it would come without the Rodimus Prime trailer.

That's how I read the comments.

About time!! I hope TFSource get their pre-orders up soon. I've got some credit to use up with them and this would be perfect! At $10 I'll definately get Sidearm, but I'm a little disappointed. It doesn't look as amazing as I thought it would be coming from FansProject. Might have to keep an eye on that the one who's CGI renders were shown the other day.

I wouldn't say it's better than MP Rodimus. I think Protector is great for Classics. But MP Rodimus is like the cartoon came to life

preordered both. nice of FP to provide a cheap upgrade in the form of Sidearm. SoC Rodimus is getting the armor and CaC Rodimus is getting Sidearm .

when ifirst found about this i wasnt able to preorder sidearm preorder was sold out at bbts but 3o minutes later found out bbts had him up for preorder again hopefully everyone that wants this guy will get him

Oh, and the Targetmaster too of course. I like not having to wait a year or some like we had to for the City Commander rifle & rockets. Now waiting on color pictures.

Yeah, once again I kick myself for passing up TFs. For some reason, once I moved out of the apartment I shared with my roomie(also a huge TF collector), I got this strange idea in my head that wargames were more important than other things I collect and so I missed out entirely on Classics, 2007 Movie, and the majority of Animated.

Only now do I realize how stupid I was...

I took a break myself after the classics line. I missed all of movie '07 (not really much imo) and a lot of animated (which is my only regret). Right Now, I'm trying to get the more expensive stuff I missed out of the way before I can buy more animated figures.
