I agree. This will be a pass, though. This is one of those times where the mold is fairly solid, but the deco is craptacular. This is why I passed on Armada Tidal Wave, and got his Energon repaint instead.
| Re: First look at TF: RotF Knock Out, in-package (859775) Posted by Pottermus_Prime on January 1st, 2009 @ 2:17pm CST id like him without the 2 huge wheels sticking out of his shoulders | |
| Re: First look at TF: RotF Knock Out, in-package (859777) Posted by TCJJ on January 1st, 2009 @ 2:21pm CST
Yea, he would be better that way. It kind of reminds me of Energon Arcee, a mold which could have easily been improved yet they slacked off on.
Agreed. Also of mention, though is the combination retrofit he is trying to get that everyone is talking about. He's completely the wrong colour but perhaps the first form of an Arcee motorbike bot? Perhaps they're 3 individual robots that combine to make Arcee or just one is Arcee but Knock Out starts off not so great and then gets slightly reformatted into one of the Arcee bikes? Taking from his bio, it sounds highly likely.
| Re: First look at TF: RotF Knock Out, in-package (859781) Posted by Pottermus_Prime on January 1st, 2009 @ 2:27pm CST maybe it might be possible to take off the wheels much like ive done with universe blasters wings | |
| Re: First look at TF: RotF Knock Out, in-package (859790) Posted by First-Aid on January 1st, 2009 @ 2:39pm CST The mention of the Combination retrofit is very interesting. Also, the side of the package has that "hieroglyph" on it...another interesting tidbit I think. I like this fig too,,,maybe the best motorcycle-former I've seen. | |
| Re: First look at TF: RotF Knock Out, in-package (859792) Posted by Kern on January 1st, 2009 @ 2:41pm CST That bottom green band looks very washy in the photos. The version I have is much, much darker and richer - and looks much better for it. | |
| Re: First look at TF: RotF Knock Out, in-package (859816) Posted by Archanubis on January 1st, 2009 @ 3:08pm CST His head reminds me of Rattrap. | |
| Re: First look at TF: RotF Knock Out, in-package (859821) Posted by Scaleface on January 1st, 2009 @ 3:13pm CST He minds me of the "Cool Rider" from Greese 2. Now by "special combat team" they seem to mean Generation 1's "Special Teams"!?!! More combiner teams? Is combiner the theme for this toy line? It's Superlink the movie! | |
| Re: First look at TF: RotF Knock Out, in-package (859834) Posted by Powersa on January 1st, 2009 @ 3:39pm CST nice looking scout size figure. | |

| Re: First look at TF: RotF Knock Out, in-package (859849) Posted by Autobot Snake Eyes on January 1st, 2009 @ 4:06pm CST he looks pretty cool, but what really gets me is the "Combat Retrofit" mentioned in the bio. we pretty much know that the cons will have combining bots in the next movie, bu is this hinting at autobot combiners? Im starting to think that the final battle being set in egypt is hinting at Egyptian subplot like thousands of years ago, some tfs visited earth and met the Egyptians. And like, the people of egypt like, learned the cybertronian language and such. I dont know, maybe... | |
| Re: First look at TF: RotF Knock Out, in-package (859853) Posted by Rated X on January 1st, 2009 @ 4:13pm CST This guy looks better than I originally thought. I think he will look good parked next to Arcee in bike mode. | |
| Re: First look at TF: RotF Knock Out, in-package (859891) Posted by SolCross on January 1st, 2009 @ 5:17pm CST It looks like it's straight out of 1993, but I'll take it. I think it looks cool. | |
| Re: First look at TF: RotF Knock Out, in-package (859907) Posted by JayDee on January 1st, 2009 @ 5:51pm CST I find that trademarked red graphic interesting (the one shown on a side of the package and the top right corner of the cardboard back face.) It's in both packages we've seen lately and it seems to be important enough to the story to include it in packages along the faction logo. | |

| Re: First look at TF: RotF Knock Out, in-package (860000) Posted by Talous on January 1st, 2009 @ 8:52pm CST I like him. The colors might take some time to get used to but he'll fit in wonderfullly with my shelf of Motorbike molds. | |
| Re: First look at TF: RotF Knock Out, in-package (860008) Posted by Swiftpaw on January 1st, 2009 @ 9:15pm CST
Primus I hope not. That's one of the reasons Superlink sucked, it took the previous 'special' concept of combination and turned it into a cheap parlor trick nearly every Bot could do. A Prime/Jetfire combination and the Arcee thing is fine, but it looses its charm when every-slagging-one can do it.

I was thinking more along the lines of Natsuki's bike. ![]() But Kaneda works too.
| Re: First look at TF: RotF Knock Out, in-package (860063) Posted by rpetras on January 1st, 2009 @ 11:10pm CST I'll get this and probably any repaints. But then, I'm a sucker for bike-bots. | |
| Re: First look at TF: RotF Knock Out, in-package (930383) Posted by toker-prime on June 1st, 2009 @ 8:08pm CDT Got him, but his slagging side panels fall off when you breath on them! Did i just get a poor figure? Couldn't they have secured the leg-panels so they'd just turn during transformation? I'm very upset that every time i transform him the panels fall off. A very simple fix could've made this figure much better. Then again, mine could have just been a glitch. anybody else run into this problem? | |
| Re: First look at TF: RotF Knock Out, in-package (934107) Posted by ShGarland_1383 on June 9th, 2009 @ 5:16am CDT Funny how I was gonna gonna pass on guy because of the deco when I posted in thread before, only to get him anyway. I still say the deco could have been better, but it's not as bad as I felt it was back when I first saw this thread.
I have, I think. The leg panels are designed to come off and reattach, so I'm not worried about it. I actually had an arm come off at just over the elbow (not at either ball-joint, but in between) taking this figure out of package, but that was easy to fix too. The assembly here is more like movie Salvage, where I had the piece that becomes the back-left corner of the truck-mode's bed come off, only better because I was able to fix it and not have to worry about it staying fixed.
