Starscream looks laughable, but the rest aren't that bad for Happy Meal toys. I personally don't plan to pick them up, but if I had kids I might swing by.

as far as transformers go they're atrocious (but all transformers happy meals go) as far as happy meals go, lugnut isn't bad.

Bumblebee's transformation looks like G1.

What happened to Starscream? Did he even transform?

They look way better than I'd expect from a happy meal toys.Especially prime, he's the ace of the lot. Hope to snag all of them at McDonalds soon.

Every bag comes with a coupon that takes 5 dollars off any tf animated toy over 20 dollars. Pretty awesome.

All toy shops will honor the coupons?

Finally, I've been looking sideways at the American Idol, Speed Racer and Kung Foo Panda Happy meal signs for months!

So I wonder, will McD's even have those tray liners with a TF theme?

This weekend, it's going down!

Over $20 TF:A item $5 off coupon? The Leader class figs will qualify, but the $19.99 Voyagers probably won't work for it. Here's hoping the coupons last long enough until the Leaders hit the shelves here in the states.

As for the figures themselves, I imagine displaying them mostly in their alt modes. Screamer might be the exception. Might even collect two sets, one for home and one for my desk at work.

Nuggets never sounded so good.

It's funny how the Deluxe Bumblebee uses a fake roof when transforming, while the McDonald's toy actually uses its real roof.

Well, they transform.
And they're not that bad, that BB is almost an excat copy of the G1 transformation scheme.

You had the name right! Luge. Greatest ice sport EVER! The wrecks are of biblical proportions! Great fun!

And you're right about McD Starscream...he DOES look like he's ready to shoot the tube!

I read on the Happy Meal site that the release date is "around" July 5; has anyone seen any yet? I'm buying them all, prob an extra of a couple for my daughter. Altho I was showing them to her on the site, and she kept wanting to see the Littlest Pet Shop ones. Girls, honestly...

And yes, luge is some crazy stuff, those guys must make clanking sounds when they walk.

Re: HappyMeal.com launches Transformers Animated promotion (741474)

^^^^ (Absolutely)

Id rather have lack-luster transformations than none at all. The burger king toys months back were nice But I don't recall them actually transforming.

My local McDee's had them. I grabbed prime (but saw ratchet, megs, and lugnut) @ $2.11 with out a food purchase. Yikes..... I'd be willing to munch on the slop there for a $1 more just to get the toy. I cant justify $2.11 for the toy alone. (And as I recall BK sells their toys at .90 or so.)

Re: HappyMeal.com launches Transformers Animated promotion (741598)
Posted by Lockdown72 on July 5th, 2008 @ 2:45pm CDT

Optimus: Not bad in both modes, arms could've been designed beter IMO.

Megatron: Robot mode in one of those pics has his head not transformed right, and his chopper mode? He's like his War Within Titanium toy: the transformation into vehicle mode is like he tripped and did a faceplant, and both toys probably suck overall.

BB: Probably the best of the bunch because of his G1-like Transformation.

Ratchet: He looks nothing like his animation model, so pass.

Lugnut: Second best of the bunch, could use more color on the cockpit windows, though.

Starscream: He doesn't transform, he goes into "severe stasis lock"! :P Seriously, it looks like he just stiffens up when he transforms, and the wings look wrong too in 'bot mode.

Overall, most of these toys are what I'd expect from a happy meal. I'd probably want just the BB toy, though, as it's like a G1 BB only larger. Plus he's cheap enough that I could probably use it as a stand-in for Fanzone's car if I was ever to re-create any episode where his car gets destroyed, like "Velocity".

Just picked up the Megatron at my local McD's today. It's a cool little toy. Not much on the transformation, but he's displayable enough. They didn't have Starscream :-(

I got mine today as well.....a little black and red Sharpie-action, and you can get KINDA close to it's proper colors....Mine doesn't look half-bad....

....as for transformation....HA! So bad! He just stands there in cannon-less robot mode (a Megatron without some sort of cannon is just WRONG).....

Oh my, Starscream looks like he just falls over and then flies away. Does that even count as a transformation?

Re: HappyMeal.com launches Transformers Animated promotion (742666)
Posted by JTKranix on July 7th, 2008 @ 1:23pm CDT

I picked them up this past weekend. They really are not bad for $1.06 each - the McDonald's I stopped at charged $1 per figure without the Happy Meal and 6 cents tax. I have picked up much worse KO's at dollar stores.

I picked up Megatron today when i got lunch and hes not bad for a happy meal toy. The only problem was they charged me $2.60. I dont know if it was because it was at a walmart McDonalds or if thats just how much they are over here in NY. Can any one confirm the price so i know if i should just go to another one or if it doesnt matter. I have $10 left on my gift card and i want to get the best value out of it.

I just bought an Optimus for my friend because she's a fangirl. He didn't look completly right to me. But it's not bad for a cheap happy meal toy. I can't wait to buy Stars and Bee for myself.

I guess the pricing is per-location or maybe per state. I paid $1.06 per figure.

Stopped at the local McD's today and they were selling the toys for $0.90 + tax. I was fortunate enough to get a Starscream (despite his lazy alt-mode :P ).

*EDIT* I just realized...mine didn't come with a coupon :-(

i had to use my coupon at toys r us cause walmart and target wouldnt take if for a voyager cause the price is uner the required $19.99

Re: HappyMeal.com launches Transformers Animated promotion (744703)
Posted by Valandar on July 9th, 2008 @ 6:58pm CDT

I got all except Lugnut today...

- Megatron and Starscream just lay down, but have decent enough robot modes for such cheap toys.

- Ratchet has a good vehicle mode, but his robot mode makes the earliest GoBots and minibots look good.

- Bumblebee ended up reminding me of G1 Bumbles, despite the obvious differences

- Optimus was without a doubt the best of the lot.

Worth it at $1.50 each, IMHO

in st louis, mo a cheeseburger happy meal is $2.90 w/ tax...and $1.69 for an xtra toy...still not bad considering they are bigger but not as detailed as the movie legends i paid $5 for
