It is that time once again, for us to ponder the unponderable. To look deeply within ourselves and our collections and set out to find the best questions to submit to HASBRO related to our favorite brand of toys, Transformers.

So what questions are bothering you? What are some things that you think HASBRO has been holding back on that it is now time for them to give us an answer for?

In the interest of trying to get the best questions submitted, Seibertron.com staff will also be answering questions that we KNOW have already been answered.

Ask away. We'll be looking to submit these in a few weeks, so you can ponder wording, etc., in your questions so that we can get them just right!

Thanks for your help!

Lame questions which will probably get the "we can't discuss specifics":

Have either Sky Lynx or Omega Supreme been considered for the reissue line in the US?

Are there any plans for more Minicons in the US, possibly using some of the Armada molds?

Any plans concerning the RID Trains?

I'm totally OK if none of my questions get picked.

why is the big ROTF Devastator toy so lame?

With regards to the Human Alliance Toyline for the Revenge of the Fallen Movie, is a Human Alliance Ironhide in the works or planned for production?

Feel free to change how my question is stated for as long as the gist is still the same. :)

Ok, this is the real deal.

Who became Cyclonus? Skywarp or Bombshell?

We will not complain if we get this answered.

OK! one main question.

So far Hasbro has already released both combiners Superion AND combiners Bruticus under the ROTF toyline. Are there any plans in the works to see a repaint and release of the third combiner (Devistator) in the line?
and if not Why?

two lesser question.
once the universe line kicks in again is there any chance we will be seeing a few more armada molds re-released (or remade like hotshot)

also, any chance for a red rampage toy (or scavenger themed demolishor?)

(I personally feel that an ROTF devistator theme would be quite fitting)

I know this sounds stupid  , but I don't really know how to ask q's, so here's a question that im gonna though out to anyone who does know:
Are there going to be any more Decepticons that'll get the Human Alliance treatment?

Have you considered releasing Lio Convoy to the American market in the Universe line, perhaps labeled as a "Beast Era Optimus Prime?" Many fans have been wanting that mold for a while and eBay prices are ludicrous.

Is there someone in charge of coordinating the movieverse to make sure that the films never contradict the IDW comics revolving around them and vice versa?

(For that matter,) How did so much off-color humor, such as Devastator's testicles and the plethora of humping jokes, get sanctioned by Hasbro? For a movie partially meant to market toys to children, you're really shooting yourselves in the foot by allowing elements that would preempt parents from allowing their children to have seen Revenge of The Fallen.

I have 1 question about the box styling, so make the question sound formal. I wont mind

Question:
Why are most box stylings on the back of most Revenge Of The Fallen have mistransformed toys and/or wrong mech alive gimmick? Not to be rude, its like Teenagers are working on these styles.

is it true we may get another revegne of the fallen devastator that has bot modes, vehicals mode & combine modes all into one.?

will we see any of the g1 or rid combiners or fortess maximus, or cybertron primus released anytime soon?

are going to get any of the japanese beast wars seeries, & transfromers R.I.D. complete dvd box sets release by anytime soon?

will we see a repaint of universe starscream painted into Sunstorm, or any other name that comes to mind i cant get enough of the universe seekers?

Re: HASBRO Q / A October Questions Roundup (995781)

This partially echos someone's previous question, but I'm gonna throw it in here anyways.

The next time Universe starts up, are their going to be more figures remaking a better version of characters from some of the lesser known themes, like their was a Hotshot? Like from RiD or more Beast Wars reimages. Or reproducing some of the good but hard to find now G2 molds, like the Cyberjets or Laser Cycles, to follow on the heels of Skyfall/Skyjack?

Is there going to be another new cartoon series now that Animated has run its course? Preferrable sticking to cel animation instead of CGI.

Also, I agree that the question of why the box art for figures and more importantly the instructions tend to be so atrociously wrong. e.e;

Q: We know repaints are a staple in Transformers. Will the Human Alliance toyline be featuring repaints with new Humans? Cliffjumper comes to mind.

Why are most box stylings on the back of most Revenge Of The Fallen have mistransformed toys and/or wrong mech alive gimmick? Not to be rude, its like Teenagers are working on these styles

That's simply how things are. Sometimes the people handling the production photos simply mistransform the figures.

That's still a question that you can't answer. He's asking if there are MORE decepticons in Human Alliance, not IF there are. You can't answer the Grindor thing either, and I'm quite sure everyone knows that there is a Starscream.

There has been fewer and fewer "early views" of prototypes and unreleased figures as of late; does this mean that Hasbro/TomyTakara is stepping up their factory security?

It is no secret that Paramount has quite a bit of pull and ownership when it comes to Transformers Movie figures. Can Hasbro please elaborate on who owns the molds. For example, would it be feasable to see the upcoming Voyager Bludgeon, ROTF Brawn, Mindwipe etc figures re-released (or re-deco'd) under a non-movie related line such as Universe? Or is that kiboshed because Hasbro doesn't own the molds?
Re: HASBRO Q / A October Questions Roundup (995790)

Ok, mine probably will never get picked and Hasbro probably wouldn't answer it anyway, knowing my luck, but here's one I've been wanting to ask for a while:

How do you (Hasbro) feel about Transformers products being taken from the factories in China and getting sold online such as on eBay, months before the release of those products? Furthermore, what steps are you taking to stop this? TakaraTomy does not seem to have this problem, so is there any particular reason that Hasbro products are accessible, and TakaraTomy's are not?

1.will you ever rerelease some older transformers from down the line like r.i.d. landfill or or some classics like rodimus prime or mirage(just the top of my head) becouse some figures are so fun but so rare!

2. wil you ever make that extra tf from ez devastator or teh rest of the constructicons

Q: With the release of Masterpiece Starscream and now the upcoming release of Masterpiece Skywarp, can we see the future release of other Masterpiece products seen in Japan such as Thundercracker, Megatron, or Optimus Prime?
Re: HASBRO Q / A October Questions Roundup (995805)

1. When will we hear about the new series?

2. Any plans for rereleases or repaints of some popular Cybertron figures if the Universe line revamps? I.E. Jungle Planet Optimus and Megatron, or Hot Shot and Thundercracker? I'd be particularly happy with a Cyb Deluxe Galaxy Force Optimus or Jungle Planet Optimus.

3. Any chance of Animated guys like Strika, Bumper, or Red Alert in the Universe line?

If any questions of mine are answered, I'd be happy.

Not to say I don't like this question, but IIRC, most of the Armada mini-con molds have deteriorated, hence why TFCC Astrotrain was packaged with a set of Cybertron mini-con redecos.

ROTF Superion and Bruticus were originally planned as Universe releases. Considering the fact that Universe is the sequel toy line to the Classics series, and that Devastator was released under that line, it's mostly unlikely.

To help save the hassle, I thought I'd answer some questions that have already been answered (people, please do a little research before asking these questions. It just helps stop the thread from overflowing with pointless questions):

thedrknss48 wrote:Q: With the release of Masterpiece Starscream and now the upcoming release of Masterpiece Skywarp, can we see the future release of other Masterpiece products seen in Japan such as Thundercracker, Megatron, or Optimus Prime?

They've already said no to Megatron because he is a gun, Optimus Prime there has been two versions of (and as far as I know, they have no interest in bringing over MP-04, but I could be wrong, but he would have short smokestacks anyway), and I believe they want to bring Thundercracker out in the near future.

1. As far as I know, they currently have no plans, but I'm sure they'd be interested in a few more years (but Classics Rodimus and Mirage aren't rare. You should be able to find those online easily and for a good price).

2. Yes and no. They said they are looking at getting EZ/Legends Devastator over, but maybe as an exclusive. They're not sure yet. And as for the rest of the Constructicons, they said no. That was in the previous Q&A from another website.

Swiftpaw wrote:This partially echos someone's previous question, but I'm gonna throw it in here anyways.

They've already said there will be another cartoon on their new Discovery network. We just have to wait. They said probably 3rd quarter of 2010 (so Fall/Autumn in the Northern Hemisphere, Spring in the Southern Hemisphere. And it's damn hot over here in New Zealand for the beginning of Spring. I hate Summer. And Spring).

Fortress Maximus, no, because he apparently didn't past the drop/safety-test in RID, so they won't be considering him any time soon. It'd be nice though.

The Japanese Beast Wars series are actually only available on VHS in Japan. Not only are they rare, but they have never made it to DVD even in Japan. So just keep watching them on YouTube. Or TFcog if you want dubs.

If by Universe Starscream, you mean the Classics seeker mould, they said they will look into Sunstorm at a later date, maybe next year, but no definite plans yet. As for others, such as Thrust, Dirge, and Thundercracker, they want to do them, but they'd have to be significantly different to the Botcon and Henkei versions, so at this point, no plans.

As far as I am aware, the Universe versions of those combiners never got released in the US or Canada, but they did get released in other parts of the world (like here in New Zealand, but they were still retailer exclusives. Exclusive to our Farmers stores here in New Zealand, since the only Target we have is Target Furniture). But no, that Constructicon Maximus repaint into Devastator was released in the Classics line, so now we've now got all three combiner homages/repaints done. They won't do another, unless it's a reissue (or they're dumb. Or unless you buy Nexus Maximus, because we all love that toy  )

guardianprime wrote:also, any chance for a red rampage toy (or scavenger themed demolishor?)

There's already a red Rampage planned. I believe it's an exclusive, but a listing was found in a store computer (I think it was WalMart but I can't remember).

That's all for now. I'll edit this post if anyone else asks already answered questions. Hopefully I'm helping out, and hopefully this helps some people.

Hasbro stated in one of the earlier Q&A's that they have no plans to reissue any further constructicons. Personally I hope they change their minds. EZ (Legends) Devastator has been looked at for sale in the US, but nothing concrete has been set.

Takara has had the same problems however they are not as obvious right now because Japan and the US are both getting the same figs. Henkei had leaks the same as Universe.

-Will G1 Transformers such as Shockwave, Whirl, Roadbuster that are licensed to other companies every be reissued?

-Are the G1 Constructicons' molds really destroyed/lost?

-Are there plans to release all the Masterpieces that Takara released to the States?

A few more:

1. Will you make any more Marvel Transformers that are X-Men? Also, on the topic of Marvel Transformers, why did you choose to make the obviously War Machine-themed Iron Man redeco another Iron Man?

2. Will we get Animated Mighty Muggs for Universe?

1) Will there be any new combiners/gestalsts with new molds?

2)Will you ever give Europe any exclusives, it isn't fair that the US and Canada alwats get exclusive TFs and Europe don't?

3)How do you decide what TFs will be exclusives and which will be on general release?

4)Why don't Tfs ever have a fan choice poll like other ranges like Marvel Universe?

5)Why don't you fix flaws with molds that have been released over the years. ROTF Sliverbolt still has the same leg problem he had when he was Storm Jet in Energon?

1) They are thinking about it.

2) Exclusives are requested by the retailers, so it's out of their control, but where possible, they offer it to many retailers. Example - here in New Zealand, we never got exclusives, but we've slowly started to get them now. We still only have about half, but it's a start.

3) It's usually only repaints/remoulds that are exclusives (not all the time, but usually). Again, often requested by retailers, Hasbro sometimes puts promotional items out as exclusives too (like Chevy Swerve. Except that I think Chevy/GM asked for that, but I could be wrong).

4) They don't care. Their target audience is children (but really, I can't see that children are the ones who buy the most of the 'good' stuff).

5) Apparently, they try to as much as possible. Hey, it has been happening recently, but I guess with figures like Energon Silverbolt, it's hard to do a good job without some heavy remoulding, which obviously they're not at liberty to do since they just want to repaint the mould.

1. Could you give us any imput on what you have planned for Transformers on your new Channel, like will it be a continuation of an already existing TF franchise, a new direction or a combination of the two?

2. Would it be possible to have a poll similar to Star Wars or Marvel Universe, just based on repaints and minor retools like a new head if necessary?

3. With the hasbroToyShop now delivering to Canada would it be possible to let it ship to other Hasbro markets like Europe with having all HTS products available to non US Hasbro markets?

1) They wished they could have made Omega, but Optimus is a much more beloved character, hence him getting the treatment first. Also, budget constrains only allows one Supreme sized mold per line.

2) Simply put, with only 3 Leader molds per line the choices came down to Ultra Magnus, Megatron and the beloved Bulkhead. The Lugnut character didn't warrant a toy that size, as Hasbro's more concerned with (cost-effective) features than scale.

3) It's rumored to be in the works. A G1 Voyager Ironhide repaint seems unlikely now this late in the line.

1) The Universe line is planned to continue as a filler line, but nothing's confirmed yet. The line-up hasn't been announced yet either.

2) Takara was the one who made the improvements, not Hasbro. The budget only allows for a certain number of molds and if lucky retools, and since Megatron's not as beloved as Optimus the chances of him seeing any "fixes" are fairly low.

A question I have frequently asked before but with no solid answer; will you be releasing a Premium ROTF line? If so, which ROTF figures will you be giving a Premium make-over? And when?

And, will you be giving any of the Human Alliance figures and RPMs a Premium treatment (despite the current HA accuracy)?

On the subject of accuracy, will we be seeing more remolds (like Leader Optimus Prime and Voyager Starscream) of certain figures from both films (like Ratchet and Jazz), and Leader-sized versions of the Decepticons that are supposed to be Leader-sized, to go with Optimus and Megatron (like Blackout, Bonecrusher, Starscream, Soundwave and The Fallen)? :-B

Also, an echo to a previous statement regarding the Star Wars Transformers; instead of retools and remolds, will you be issuing some of the more popular vehicles (like the Original Trilogy Y-Wing and AT-ST) and maybe characters from games (Example; I'd love to see Rhys Dallows transforming into a Naboo Starfighter and Nym into The Havoc from 'Star Wars: Starfighter' and Montross transforming into his ship, Hell's Anvil, from 'Star Wars: Bounty Hunter')?

1) The Masterpiece line is mostly based on characters as they appeared in the G1 cartoons. The G2 Tank form is a whole lot less known, as it only appeared in commercials and the Marvel G2 comics. Then there's the fact the first G2 Tank Megatron wasn't intially sold in Japan, instead it first saw release there as Beast Wars II Megastorm. In short, any plans of him getting a Masterpiece treatment are not high priority.

2) Combiners are easily one of the most beloved toys among the fans, but on the flipside they're extremely hard to design, akin to the Triplechangers. Should Hasbro design them, they won't see release until they're just right. Chances are greater for the core bodies (the leaders) to get standalone new molds, like Silverbolt and Onslaught in the past.

1) The Premium line of the first movie was used to fix some of the inaccuracies of the first toys and to give collectors a second chance of buying an initially unavailable figure. No plans for a Premium line for ROTF are made, let alone announced.

2) See Above

3) Retools are expensive to do, and the line is tied to a certain budget. That budget only allows a certain number of molds per size class, and possibly retools. More Leaders is out of the question, as the maximum number of Leader molds is 3, and they've already exceeded it with Starscream. Remember, Hasbro is not concerned with scale, so more Leader molds is next to impossible.

I hope at least one of these gets HasTakTomy's attention.
1) Will there be any more ROTF constructicons made( I know the answer from before but due to the demand for it I'm hoping the answer has changed.)
2) What is going on with your ROTF Quality Control people??? I have 12 figures from ROTF and all but 1 have loose, floppy, broken joints. Animated had a good many loose joints but it's been nearly impossible to find a figure from ROTF that has tight joints when I get it. My Scalpel came out of the box with 2 legs detached and 5 upper cup joints cracked in half. If you're using a new form of QC you need to go back to the old ways.

Will Hasbro ever release a set of the legends class constructicons that combine into devastator? If not a set, individually carded figures?

They stated that they want to try to release them 2010 as an exclusive set of sorts.

Q1 No, from what we where told that won't show up till next year.

Q2 Hasbro has already stated that there won't be any more Constructicons.

Q3 Spring 2010.

"JelZe GoldRabbit"

Thanks but with respect, this board is for questions to Hasbro, so I would like Hasbro to answer them!

You say the Premiums were to correct faults? No, they were for more realistic colour schemes! The only 'fault' they altered was the Leader-Class Optimus Prime (changing the gun to a sword) and when I got Premium Barricade, I noticed there was a fault in his foot; it doesn't transform or clip into place properly. Plus, the arm on my Deep Space Starscream can't be held in by the body properly. Plus, most of the ROTF figures have major faults in them (my Sideswipe, Sideways and Bumblebee suffer from something, the only ROTF figures I'm really pleased with is Soundwave and Wheelie) so by your rationale, Premiums *will* be on their way!

They are definitely holding back on the Premium line...I think there's something shifty going on... /:)

:BOOM:

He didn't state that they where there to fix the toys, they where there to make them more move accurate colour wise.

And we have made it our policy to answer questions that have already been answered by Hasbro so that we can pick the questions that are new as we only have 3 to spend. And hasbro has already stated that there will be no premium line for ROTF.
So it's wait and see if they will do them but I'm pretty sure they won't make any as the original premium line deputed around this time in 07 and we haven't seen one indicator for it happening again save for Takara's Buster Prime.

I got a few questions, and this time, I'm limiting myself.

1. Why were the ROTF Robot Replicas shorter than the last line's? And without the interchangable pieces?

2. Will we get a Cybertron Primus rerelease sometime in the next Universe Line?

3. Will Buster Optimus Prime get a release in the UK (And U.S., I suppose), even if without the Premium paint scheme?

4. Will we ever get a Leader Class Fallen or Leader Class Blackout/Grindor in the future as the rumours have been floating around?

5. Will Devastator ever be redone or even get a new mold at some point in the future?

6. How did so much toilet humour end up in Revenge of the Fallen?

Asked what I need to... for now.

Why is Hasbro pushing the Revenge Of The Fallen out so fast, things are being released a month or even two months ahead of time in some areas of the US?

Does Hasbro plan to slow down in their releases and improve their Quality Control because it seem that a lot of people like myself have either purchased figures with missing parts, parts installed wrong, parts popping off, parts not connecting properly and have sloppy paint jobs?

Nemesis Rodimus wrote:1. When will we hear about the new series?

I would like to second this one. I'm sure others would agree. I don't know about anyone else, but I hate anticipation.

My other questions:
1. I just watched the TF: Cybertron series through and noted that the end of the series, though it was supposed to end the "micron trilogy", was left wide open for a sequel with Wing Saber finding evidence of Starscream. Will this be pursued at some point by Hasbro or TakaraTomy at some point?

2. How much input does Hasbro have on the release date of Transformers 3 and will you be pushing for a 2011 release as opposed to a 2012 release?

3. Is there any way you can put a moratorium on green construction vehicle repaints? :P

4. Out of curiousity, is there a set number of new molds that the design team looks for in each line? For example, aiming for 10 scouts, 20 deluxes, 10 Voyagers, etc. If so what are those numbers or estimates of those numbers? Does the design team have repaints in the back of their minds when then design the new figures?

My only question is when are we going to see a Transformers Tataki release in the US?

Might be a good question that people are interested in hearing the answer to, but somehow I envision not getting a very informative answer, but rather some lawyer speak along the lines of "we'll let you know as soon as we can."

Not sure how interesting it would be to others, but I would be curious to hear how Hasbro determines the (often times ridiculous) conversion ratings. It appears they base it on size, in which case what's the point; why call it a conversion rating? There are deluxe class figures worthy of 4s and supreme class worthy of 2s (I'm looking at you, Devastator.) Seems these things could be a lot more accurate and helpful.
