It was only days ago that the Trypticon Reissue went from rumor to confirmation (with a TFsource Pre-Order), and now we have shots of some stunning box artwork and the open flap picture window of the figure. Looks like the decals are already attached just like Piranacon.

Focus on one genre. What is your primary? I'm on G1 vintage. So I focused on it like my Seeker Squad. The UW line comes in 2 month intervals hence I can recharge the funds.

Shockwave7 wrote:That's pretty cool. But I think I'll still hold out for a generations remake of Trypticon that's even taller than Metroplex
In the Japanese back story, the original Metroplex (Encore#12 recent release) was severely damaged. The reconstruction on him lead to his doubling/tripling size to that of Fortmax. So now, Maybe a new backstory for a generations remake of the big Dino. Though I wish for "less" electronic gimmicks this time.
But nearly 9 years from Tomy/Takara's Metroflex re-issue...........sigh.Now a Hasbor Asia/Platinum release! Our hobbies are quite a bit of a frustration and self flagellation. But rewards are quite priceless once completed.

Btw, for those who want a Titan Class version, good sales on both this and Devastator would probably help convince them to do one.

Mine is in base mode and covered in legions, but I'd guess between 12 to 14 inches in dino mode. Anyone feel free to correct me.

I have both of those figures...which is another reason why I wouldn't want a G1 reissue of Tryppy at this price.

12-14" is about right. I had mine up with the larger Godzilla figures and my Robostrux Terox (Zoids Gojulas).

Here here. That or around Titan Metroflex's knee(the lower part).

I've already been screwed by the Fort Max reissue. As much as I want this figure I may have to wait for the sale for money to even out.
I might regret waiting or I might regret jumping.

How did you get screwed by Fort Max? Aside from the painted eyes on Cerebros, he's identical to the original...
Anyway, maybe this will drop ebay prices on Full-Tilt's gun. I can't stomach paying upwards of 50 bucks for that as it is.

Yarrrp. No electronics in Fort Max.
Also, the price on Trypticon's little bowtie is hilariously high. I'm so bloody happy I have mine in place.

Whether I buy him depends entirely on price. If it's more than $200, no dice.

Yeah, from the top of my head I can count only 3 toys that had electronics back in G1:
- Shockwave
- Trypticon
- Galvatron
Back then, electronics were rarely used in toys because of expenses and lack of technical know-how.

Lost / broke the radar dishes, and one of the towers that becomes the tank, but otherwise, he's the same as when I first got him. I find he works great with g1 autobots and decepticons like the individual constructicons, the omnibots ect.

I didnt think Hasbro would ever reissue this guy and thus I bought a G1 version (less equipped but a lot cheaper than this). And there are many fans who are now just willing to move on from G1 and want updated forms, which makes sense since that is what Hasbro has been doing pretty intensively these past 2 years.
But now Hasbro will read these boards (since it is one of their main indication of what this particular market may want), see the low interest, and it will reflect in sales as G1 rereleases ALWAYS do. And they will further make up their minds that there isn't much of a market for G1 rereleases and we lose again.
Sometimes, we are our own worst enemies.

What makes this Reissue set special is that while the original trio has been reissued a number of times, the Conehead trio was only reissued once by E-Hobby in 2001 (limit 1000 pieces and quite expensive on secondary market) and Dirge got a solo release in the ToysRus Commemorative Reissue series. This Seeker Squadron is available at some specialty online retailers (like sponsor TFsource), but was squired by yours truly through Wal-Mart.ca so hopefully it will show up on the American site and maybe even store shelves. But without further ado, the gallery below is why you clicked on this story so keep scrolling. Stay tuned to Seibertron.com for all your Transformers News!

Hey Hasbro- don't listen to these people! G1 reissues are a fantastic idea, particularly reissues of Japanese G1 stuff that never made itto the US/UK. Victory, Return of Convoy and Masterforce are great places to start!

"The only noticeable difference between this reissue set and their G1 counterparts is that Thrust's missile launchers are slightly remolded to remove the firing mechanism, though the missiles themselves remain the same."
To my knowledge, the only tampo'ing done on G1 Reissues were done on the Takara Encore figures, and I have yet to put the stickers on my trio.AutobotAlvaron wrote:Awesome find! Hmm, no Decepticon symbol tampos? How does the overall QC look & how does the plastic feel? I assume that Dirges's gold wings are still metallic & Thrust is still beautifully swirly-maroon (though not as much as the CHUG one), the die-cast is there & their joints are nice & tight. I hope we see a US release soon.
The QC is fantastic. Strangely enough, the only seekers I had as a child were Dirge and Thrust. It's hard to explain, but these guys feel a little lighter than I remember but of course I'm working from memory of toys I played with 25 years ago. So while they don't feel exactly the same, they do feel fantastic, at very least on par with the other Seeker Reissues I've handled.
I HIGHLY recommend this set
