| Re: Hasbro UK to cancel Transformers Animated? (804734) Posted by JelZe GoldRabbit on October 6th, 2008 @ 2:08pm CDT It's a rumor you know? Frankly, I'm not surprised because it ends sooner than expected, more because it seems to end *this* soon! | |
| Re: Hasbro UK to cancel Transformers Animated? (804737) Posted by Sledge on October 6th, 2008 @ 2:11pm CDT I wonder how much of this is down to it taking such a ridiculous length of time for the toys to hit our shores? So many people who would have bought the stuff have got pissed off waiting and imported it. That's without going into the price differences between the UK and USA... Oh, and having the show on a channel people might see would help. | |
| Re: Hasbro UK to cancel Transformers Animated? (804738) Posted by Tekka on October 6th, 2008 @ 2:11pm CDT Once again the UK fails its fans. But what were we expecting? Not advertising it and putting the cartoon on a channel nobody watches didn't help. A little advertising would have gone a long way to help this series succeed. | |
| Re: Hasbro UK to cancel Transformers Animated? (804765) Posted by Electron on October 6th, 2008 @ 2:38pm CDT ODB's Know my opinion on animated so don't really care | |
| Re: Hasbro UK to cancel Transformers Animated? (804771) Posted by Sledge on October 6th, 2008 @ 2:43pm CDT That's kinda shortsighted, Electron. We already shafted with regard to exclusives, now Hasbro UK are looking at not even bothering with mainline stuff. What makes you think this won't carry on to the next TF line? They really dropped the ball on this, given how visible the brand was following the movie. | |
| Re: Hasbro UK to cancel Transformers Animated? (804773) Posted by Overcracker on October 6th, 2008 @ 2:46pm CDT I would not be surprised if other countries follow suit. Considering how poorly Animated Figures are selling. My Wal-mart just can't move Animated. Soundwave, Grimlock, etc.. have yet to be put on pegs because Prowl and Lockdown are clogging them. I probably counted no less 25 Prowls on the pegs and about 15 Lockdowns. | |
| Re: Hasbro UK to cancel Transformers Animated? (804782) Posted by Electron on October 6th, 2008 @ 2:56pm CDT
you blaming me? OJ yeh granted we've been shafted due to exclusives, and animated is a main line item so technically, whts next even hasbro UK know TF's are one of there best selling products, not like there gonna pack up and leave maybe they'll focus on sum other lines? maybe universe sells alot better then we know but sounds like hasbro UK are giving up on us
| Re: Hasbro UK to cancel Transformers Animated? (804793) Posted by Sledge on October 6th, 2008 @ 3:00pm CDT Yes, it's all YOUR fault, Electron. Nah, just saying that this could be bad news for more than the Animated line. | |
| Re: Hasbro UK to cancel Transformers Animated? (804801) Posted by Nekoman on October 6th, 2008 @ 3:09pm CDT Didn’t I say one time in a thread this line would do poorly? Sorry for the fans of it, but it would seem I’m not far off. The toys are nearing cancellation in the UK, most say they’re clogging shelves in their areas, season three’s still not green lit, no Omega Supreme in the works… I sure can’t say things are looking good for this one. | |
| Re: Hasbro UK to cancel Transformers Animated? (804806) Posted by Electron on October 6th, 2008 @ 3:11pm CDT is there an official statement? or hasbro to lazy to give us a half arsed answer | |
| Re: Hasbro UK to cancel Transformers Animated? (804811) Posted by Tekka on October 6th, 2008 @ 3:14pm CDT I don't think there's anything official yet, and I don't really expect one. I'm sure we'll find out if nothing else turns up in stores. It is a supreme class shame because Animated is one of the best cartoons we have had in a long long time, and I don't want to see it go down the tubes because of Hasbro's failure to sufficiently market the toys. | |
| Re: Hasbro UK to cancel Transformers Animated? (804827) Posted by Electron on October 6th, 2008 @ 3:24pm CDT you should hit the streets with bill boards or the ODB can meet up in black and balaclavas, and raid TF's main competition? theres my 2 cents | |
| Re: Hasbro UK to cancel Transformers Animated? (804882) Posted by Bumblethumper on October 6th, 2008 @ 4:22pm CDT
On occasion I've been known to take good TFs down from high pegs and redistribute them to better and more prominent locations. The sooner they shift that stuff, the sooner they can get more in. That's just another way I do my bit to support the franchise. It's unfortunate that TF:A isn't doing great in the UK, but it's really all down to the failure to get the cartoon on a channel where it can reach an audience. If they can get it to the point where it can be syndicated onto mainstream channels, things should pick up.
| Re: Hasbro UK to cancel Transformers Animated? (804943) Posted by i_amtrunks on October 6th, 2008 @ 5:40pm CDT In what would be a heavy blow for our UK counterparts, it appears that the Transformers: Animated line may come to a close far earlier than anticipated. Red Leader of the TFW Boards has posted: I recieved a phone call from one of my suppliers this afternoon with regard to the Transformers Animated line, many retailers have wave 4.5 on pre-order from Hasbro, this includes Swoop, Sentinel Prime etc, the bad news is that I recieved a warning that the line may be cancelled before wave 4.5 and not to offer pre-orders for the figures. As yet there has been no official confirmation, or denial from Hasbro. If and When there is Seibertron.com will let you know. | |

| Re: Hasbro UK to cancel Transformers Animated? (804994) Posted by mattyc1007 on October 6th, 2008 @ 6:05pm CDT WHAT!!! What do you guys mean "no body watches it or the channel" I myself watch spongebob and fairly odd parents evry day aswell as squeezing some american chopper in (i love mikey)and Avatar but that is NOT the subjest. On the matter, i recently said i did get two voyager figs from my local tesco for £9 each, this may mean they are feeling light hearted or they may be clearing. there no deluxe or any stars wars. they be extending the self barrier for Wall-E. But dear god please dont cut us off! for once ive nearlly like the cybertron defence team, nearly got all the dinobots and yes! my very first dinobots of all. im enjoying the experience of having a grimlock, snarl and HOPEFULLY a Swoop. I do hope this is a rumour or hasbro dose change its mind "because what am i going to spend my money on" might start buying Gobots or roadbots. and i do want to start seeing soundwave on the shelves or in back at argos + swoop eventally, sentinal prime and blackarcnia which should be here? but some good dose come out of this, i may be able to restart collecting my micron legends and galaxy force figs. after all that i havnt place any emotions in, i feel empty. I KNOW ill add my best and most used emotion, i love, hes like richard hammond with his peraly whites. Please hasbro dont give up on us, for the past 5 years there been no good toy lines, and when you finally get and make something good, you shun us away! please seibertron find out!! | |
| Re: Hasbro UK to cancel Transformers Animated? (805029) Posted by Redimus GTS on October 6th, 2008 @ 6:22pm CDT For f**ks sake Hasbro UK.... You finally get you arse to gether, to distribute ugly ass toys for a film that wasnt very good, then when they bring something transformery that is good, you decide to well and truly drop the ball again. Im very close to giving up and just orderign the waves from BBTS, cuase this is rediculous. You dont want my business, fine, I wont give it to you, there's more than one way to snag a tf. | |
| Re: Hasbro UK to cancel Transformers Animated? (805033) Posted by Doubledealer25 on October 6th, 2008 @ 6:24pm CDT could it be to make room for an other TF seires? cus the classics are a big hit. right? they might get their own show. out with the new in with the good and old | |
| Re: Hasbro UK to cancel Transformers Animated? (805037) Posted by NuclearConvoy on October 6th, 2008 @ 6:25pm CDT My question would be "Why?" | |
| Re: Hasbro UK to cancel Transformers Animated? (805041) Posted by Laughing Man on October 6th, 2008 @ 6:26pm CDT Hardly surprising really, a damn shame, but hardly surprising. After going without a show, then with one but on a premium channel, no advertising of any kind, a lack of shelf space at many of the big retailer, the popularity of the movie and so on and so on this line more than any previously unsuccessful in the UK TF line really didn't have a cat in hells chance. I'm surprised the UK got any Aminated figures at all TBQH! | |

yeah! i if this is true and i happens inthe states i will just get my tfs of ebay, bbts, action hq and some other site im sure

| Re: Hasbro UK to cancel Transformers Animated? (805063) Posted by Baha08 on October 6th, 2008 @ 6:35pm CDT I don't think they'd be making another series soon. Unless we have another Anime trilogy. | |
| Re: Hasbro UK to cancel Transformers Animated? (805080) Posted by Doubledealer25 on October 6th, 2008 @ 6:41pm CDT
what trilogy are you talking about? allthough i never watch anime so whatever. any ways they have anime trilogys?!

The Armada, Energon, and Cybertron trilogy.

oooooohhhhh. i thought you ment something like gundam or naruto ro somethin like that?
| Re: Hasbro UK to cancel Transformers Animated? (805103) Posted by Baha08 on October 6th, 2008 @ 6:51pm CDT Nope but they way it was put it they might as well made it into Naruto. | |
| Re: Hasbro UK to cancel Transformers Animated? (805171) Posted by Zeds on October 6th, 2008 @ 7:23pm CDT WTF! Hasbro UK really likes to screw with you Brits. I would riot or offer more bullets to the gun that Hasbro UK keeps shooting themselves in the foot with. Maybe in time they will get it right and aim for their collective heads! | |
| Re: Hasbro UK to cancel Transformers Animated? (805229) Posted by Crosscheck on October 6th, 2008 @ 8:03pm CDT This is what I like to refer to as Overlord Syndrome. Way back when, the UK was blessed with the Overlord Powermaster figure that had previously been only available in Japan, and the United States did not get it. Now, fifteen years later, the people in the UK have to pay the price for it. Ultimately, I don't know why Hasbro seems so intent on screwing over the fans across the pond, but they seem to have perfected the method for doing so. Part of the solution, a UK fan needs to mail me a G1 Overlord, and perhaps the Overlord Syndrome will be cured. ...HEY! It was worth a shot! I honestly wouldn't be worried until the UK is a few waves behind the US in terms of Animated. | |

| Re: Hasbro UK to cancel Transformers Animated? (805517) Posted by leokearon on October 7th, 2008 @ 1:33am CDT It seems strange that they would be cancelling it since they showed the show in Ireland during the summer and are advertising and are giving us new stock and it is selling well. | |
| Re: Hasbro UK to cancel Transformers Animated? (805534) Posted by Ravage XK on October 7th, 2008 @ 3:42am CDT Hmm, our local TRU is alwasys stocked to the gills with figures from Animated, Movie and the odd Cyberton Leader. I havent seen so much TF gear in there ever, including during the height of the movie sales. I dont know which channel TFA is shown on in the UK but its not one of the main, freely available ones otherwise I would have seen it in the listings. I have only just in the last week seen a TV advert for TFA and it features the Prime/Megatron + DVD box set which is how old? Hasbro UK dropped the ball once again. They should all be fired and I will do their job. Honestly, how hard can it be? 1. Ensure a decent supply of figures comes into the UK 2. Make sure that GMTV, ITV or the BBC gets the cartoon, NOT CARTOON NETWORK or whoever and ensure it is aired straight away. 3. Make new or dub the American adverts well in advance of the UK launch. Oh look. I just did their job for them. | |
| Re: Hasbro UK to cancel Transformers Animated? (805552) Posted by Hard Hacker on October 7th, 2008 @ 4:57am CDT I hope they don't. | |
| Re: Hasbro UK to cancel Transformers Animated? (805561) Posted by Bluevolt on October 7th, 2008 @ 5:56am CDT This is why Tesco is selling off stock @ half price then. | |
| Re: Hasbro UK to cancel Transformers Animated? (805574) Posted by Fu Manchu on October 7th, 2008 @ 6:21am CDT they had a decent stock in Toys R Us at the weekend. | |
| Re: Hasbro UK to cancel Transformers Animated? (805614) Posted by Kryptoniteking on October 7th, 2008 @ 8:06am CDT Most know my opinion about the show and the toys. My nearest Walmart seems to have a problem moving them from the selves as well. My friends that have kids don't like the show so they don't like the toys. They're all over the Ben 10 stuff! | |
| Re: Hasbro UK to cancel Transformers Animated? (805705) Posted by rpetras on October 7th, 2008 @ 10:08am CDT That's odd. My local stores (several each of TRU, Target & WalMart) seem to rotate through their animated stock pretty well. The peg warmers in my area are SunStreaker and Prowl. I've heard at least 2 parent/kid conversations where the parent was looking at Sunstreaker and the kid was like "No, mom, I want Bumblebee. I don't know who that is." | |
| Re: Hasbro UK to cancel Transformers Animated? (805715) Posted by Dead Metal on October 7th, 2008 @ 10:21am CDT It's odd really, Transformers Armada does well in the UK, sucks so much in Germany that Energon gets canceled. Then Cybertron shows up in Germany, well what the rest of Europe left that is. Movie lines does well in the UK, Germany still has wave1, except TRU. Now Germany gets TFa on the best children's channel, adverts for the toys on that channel regularly during the week, 2 adverts back to back before and after the top viewed weekend cartoons. And they seem to get shipped out in big cardboard shelves that don't fit into the usual toy store corner. The shelves are almost empty every time I go to a store! And the very same line just seems to die out in the UK Seriously, that is fu**ed up! | |
| Re: Hasbro UK to cancel Transformers Animated? (805717) Posted by Tekka on October 7th, 2008 @ 10:25am CDT I blame Gordon Brown for being negligent. Parliament needs to address this failing Transformers issue and make Hasbro UK get their act together. | |

(805740) Posted by Moonbug on October 7th, 2008 @ 10:50am CDT Worry no more, Hasbro UK have replied and the line has not been discontinued and they do still plan on releasing Wave 4.5 just later in the year. So that's it. Its just been delayed.
| Re: Hasbro UK to cancel Transformers Animated? (805744) Posted by Dead Metal on October 7th, 2008 @ 10:52am CDT Shi* I'm glad, I was starting to worry! What a relieve. | |
| Re: Hasbro UK to cancel Transformers Animated? (805746) Posted by Sledge on October 7th, 2008 @ 10:54am CDT Don't worry, we can still hate Hasbro UK over their not importing exclusives. Oh Fracture, will you ever be mine? | |
| Re: Hasbro UK to cancel Transformers Animated? (805747) Posted by Tekka on October 7th, 2008 @ 10:54am CDT That IS good news... Why the delay though? Still have a backlog to go through? | |
| Re: Hasbro UK to cancel Transformers Animated? (805757) Posted by Nekoman on October 7th, 2008 @ 11:00am CDT Perhaps they’re waiting until they sell all of their overstock? | |

| Re: Hasbro UK to cancel Transformers Animated? (805782) Posted by Sledge on October 7th, 2008 @ 11:12am CDT Hang on, does this mean all those of us who like Animated can now go round rubbing it in the faces of all the people who've been saying "It's a crap line, so I'm glad it's cancelled"? | |
