Here ya' go guys, a few of the promised new missions have been added to allow the higher level players here a chance to stretch their mechanical legs and cause a bit of havoc.

Be sure to check back into the Heavy Metal War discussion boards to see how this affects the game over the next few months and to watch for any other changes that may be coming over the next few weeks.

As a follow on to the Max/Pred missions - my mission win rate has increased for my team by 2% since the changes. Given how many missions have been played in total, that actually translates to winning some 90+% of my missions since the change. That may not be the balance the changes were looking for.

Further, G1/Pred is nearly non-existent; understanding that the new missions introduce some more of the opportunities, it seems like Beast and G1 are wholly or mostly isolated from each other. Perhaps the time to dial up the G1/Beast dial is coming up soon given how, as I understand it, the Bots are getting pounded just as badly as the Maximals are.

The new mission gives only 100 Xp/ 50 € for base, while the base payout by a lv.2+mission used to be 300Xp/150€

The mission pay out was reduced a while ago. Back when the Pred/Maxis were first introduced because back then, the Gen 1ers were flooding the missions for the free XP payout that was over 100.

Quite sure we Maximals are in hibernation until the new era...that or we all ran out of hair and been unable to grow it back. See what all those 6 on 1s caused :P

They are trying. Their victories aren't quite as amazing as they could be but there are some losses (and I'm accepting the XP gain in them).

Another thought would be to mix some 4v4 missions in for the Beasts; could encourage some more interesting brawls. Otherwise, let the experiment continue.

New Missions we were told about seem to be myth. No one has seen them. They're like the earth game Star Wars Force Unleashed, an eternal rumor that is supposedly coming out but never will. Fellow Predacons have noted the increase in winning, but are lementing the most valuable resource on this planet, XP. Decepticons have come forward taunting us, claiming it's an addiction. If so, then they are far more addicted to it then we are. Despite their best efforts to halt our growth, however, two more Predacon warriors have attained level 3 threat status. The engineer known as Exia and melee fighter known as Rikou have both been upgraded in their threat rating today.

PPX-23 Day 3

Attempts to bring hope to the test subjects has been met with critisism. Better than I had hoped. Seems the experiment has left the subjects bitter and distrustful. I have been counseled by HQ that my "taunting" of the subjects may render the test results invalid. I disagree, my actions have been used to gauge if the experiment has changed the temperment of the test subjects. Continued research required. I almost feel bad for the preds. I remember a time I could only hope for a mission where my troops brought back 50xp or more. But the times were different then. It was not a lack of opponent that troubled us, but a overwhelming number. We did not have the troop capcity to mount a decent defense resulting in the broken morale of our younger commanders.

thats like sayin you asked for a wooden train set when you were 5, and your parents are just now giving it to you.

yes we did ask for more, but not exclusive. all day i've seen 2 or 3 non beast missions. 2-3 over 14 hours? still havent seen the new missions that the news talked about. The maxi's are sparse, with the exception of short bursts of players every few hours, and even then it only lasts an hour at most. when i get more xp losing against people in the arena, than i do winning missions, why do missions?

the maxi's aren't active enough. they don't play that often. i get 8-10 no opposition missions, its discouraging. the preds didn't even fill all the missions. we never had that problem when there were 2 more factions. i've gone from getting between 500-1000 an average mission to 100-300 on an average mission. the slightly less cr time doesnt make a difference.

also i've heard the bots are now getting stomped, and the maxi's are too. We don't even have a chance to change factions if we don't like it (not that i would, but the option would be nice). this went from one extreme to the other. almost no maxi missions, to almost nothin but maxi missions. Granted it's probably great for beginners, but now the xp isn't enough.

If it had been done from the get go it would be a different story.
its more like what am i gonna do with this now? would've been awesome if i had it at a different point in time. the point was about this radical change and nothing we can do about it but complain, and then get mocked for complaining.

It's funny, as I see there are plenty of maximal commanders around (I encountered 3 different teams in the arena in the last hour)

but its 318 am my time. and their in the arena, i need them in missions. also its the lack of tevels. most maxis are 0-1, i'm used to fighting 2's and the occasional 3's

NO ONE had any idea that the Beast factions wouldn't be as popular. A lot of people were under the impression that with everyone reset and having the ability to choose from four factions that things might be more balanced.

It didn't work out like that. And I don't see how it could have been done any differently.

When it became obvious that wasn't going to be the case something should have been done then, but I don't think people realise just how much of the site's data was damaged. And something people also seem to forget is that there's ONE Administrator of this game, and he's had his own issues to deal with in the real world. Trust me, he got his priorities right.

No one's mocking you. Do yourself a favour and take a few hours away from the computer. It's just a game, I know from personal experience it is NOT worth getting upset over.

It's been over 12 years since Beast Wars first aired. Not to sound like a total know it all, but I think it would have been logical to presume that some of the fans who came in with Armada would be unfamilair with who the Maximals and Predacons were, and those might have more likely chosen the more familiar factions.

But it's not like I don't let things slip through.

Maximal missions have always been a problem when I'm playing. Next to no opposition.

I missed the G1 era on tv due to living in shall we say a farm of sorts. So Beast Wars was my first series I got to watch as it came out. So its always held a soft part in my heart. I fell in love with G1 as soon as I found the tapes then DVDs but BW always was my "first" and I gotta say "Megatron Terrorize!" sure beat out only the transformation noises for me.

That was the popular consensus. And as NV said, it would have helped earlier. When there were more maximals playing actively. Some, however, just advocated the lowering of the G1 missions to lower entries, like the 4v4. A few others changed their opinion once it became apparent that there weren't enough actively playing maximal commanders in missions.

They have the third largest faction... so where are they all?

Well, don't look now, but the last 10-15 missions I've joined have had a handy Maximal showing.

I'd be surprised if it lasted more then a few hours. This is the time of day when they win the most, which is still insignificant compared to their loses at the same time. It's weird seeing a mission with 6 maximals, then a mission with 1, then another mission with 4, then a mission with 1. Is there a mission pattern we weren't told about?

Meh, the bots are just as bad. We go through 3 hours periods when there are none, and then a few hours later theyre outnumbering us, but its always been like that.

Looks like the Maximals are starting to come out of hibernation.

I will continue to be pessimistic and look for solutions until proven wrong. It's kinda like how it was when I first started playing HMW though. No high level Maximals really to speak of. A few higher level Preds with more on the way rather quickly. Looks the same for the G1ers too. Lots of high level Cons, not a lot of high level bots.

They can only be spawned by you guys, so one of you must have activated it.

but averaged with the 100 xp missions its still not alot.

almost all my builds are high avoid, but a few are high strafe or ram. all but 3 of my bots are strait up avoiders with high speed and strong secondary tactics.
2 are high ram/str 1 is fp/strafe still with avoid and speed

Soooo... the Preds have voiced suggestions; do G1 factions agree or do they have other ideas?

I think someone mentioned "give it a week"; we're in day 5 so any recommendations should be considered for changes soon.

As a DCon player, frankly it's a bit boring, I've seen quite few beasties so it's almost always autostomp missions.

I'm ok with just fighting autobots, but knowing the others are out there seams like a waste.

It was a good idea but it's just creating more restiction than assistance.

The mission levels, the G1vBeast 4v4, and that only Beasts generate against other factions are all good changes.

The only change I think anyone should recommend at this point would be to increase the generation of G1 missions by Beasts. All others still seem valid and to have improved the game.

i don't know if it means anything but, i haven't seen a beast mission in ages. To be honest, most of the missions i go into are empty..... maybe i smell.

Either way i'd like to see some of those 0-1 missions i remember so fondly :grin:

Way to pick on the little guy :P Half decent showing against larger opponents, although not the "millions of XP" you purples are used to I'm sure. We'd be glad to make more Level 3s for you to slaughter if you'll just get us the XP to make them.
