| Re: Images of new TF UNIVERSE 2.0 figures now up! (791438) Posted by Autobot032 on September 20th, 2008 @ 5:39pm CDT Animated: Blurr is incredible. He's everything I hoped for. Swindle is just...wow. He's better than expected. Classics: Brawn is perfect. Finally, the little bugger gets a figure design that looks good on him. (Although I thought we were going to be getting him in Animated, so I hope this doesn't ruin that chance...) Bumblebee...is odd. Looks like a mix between Classics, Animated, and G1. To a certain extent, it works, but not enough for me to be impressed. Cheetor is AWFUL. The Beast Mode head looks really good. They did such a nice job designing it. The Robot Mode head received the same treatment as well. (Kudos Hasbro, very show accurate.) Everything from the neck down is an abomination and shouldn't have been made. Not a chance. *retches* Cyclonus With Nightstick...DAYUM. He's gonna look so good standing next to my Classics Galvatron. (You can own one or the other without the other. It's like...a rule. Yeah...a rule. Inferno looks terrific. Not quite my cup of tea, but he looks intricate and that's just hawt. Vector Prime and all of the other repaints? (Animated, Classics, etc.) Over. Kill. Please stop. PLEASE. | |
| Re: Images of new TF UNIVERSE 2.0 figures now up! (791444) Posted by Tekka on September 20th, 2008 @ 5:43pm CDT I am disappointed that once again Hasbro's publicity shots look so much nicer than the actual on sale figure. The black and purple on their Animated Skywarp are so much nicer than the grey and pink we're getting on the sale model. =( The grey I can live with but I'd really rather have an actual purple than a Skywarp with pink feet. What I want to know is, how did the colour scheme get skewed from the original Hasbro idea to grey and pink? Where is the weak link in the chain? | |

He was actually a pretty creative little homage to a character I didn‘t know of until recently. He’s The Last Autobot if you didn’t know either.

What's with that grin on Perceptors face? The Heroes Cheetor looks better than the deluxe, which just looks awful. Cyclonus looks better and better with each new pic.

(791560) Posted by 8 bit on September 20th, 2008 @ 7:54pm CDT Man, I was really excited about the news of a Cybertron Scourge repaint, mostly because I missed him the first two times around. But I'm not so sure about those fruity colors; I'll need to see him in person to make a decision. *EDIT* Robot mode is outstanding though.
| Re: Images of new TF UNIVERSE 2.0 figures now up! (791586) Posted by Blurrz on September 20th, 2008 @ 8:47pm CDT Your post humors me
The genius behind the VP repaint should be thanked. That's a homage to... let's just see... "The Last Autobot", and for others who haven't picked up VP about 2 years ago, this is a blessing. The Scourge repaint is ridiculous. We finally get a homage to an RID character, that well... looks amazing brilliant, and not OVERKILLED. I really don't see why you couldn't have just said the Blazing Lockdown instead of Animated repaints, etc. Blazing Lockdown finally allows us for a Fallen homage. Which IMO, is awesome to people who've read alot of comics. BTW, Bumblebee is not a repaint, it's a rerelease. Skywarp is also enjoyable. What? Don't like it? C'mon, it's been done a trillion times already, and get damn well used to it. I'm just disappointed that not all of the seekers couldn't have been repainted at the voyager scale. Onto Classics, and what you say is really irritating. For most people when Classics first came out, Starscream was hard to find. Infact, I never even saw one. With the addition of half of the seekers being Botcon exclusives, this repaint is a blessing. Sure Acid Storm brought me the mold, but it's not the same thing. This Starscream repaint is the biggest blessing of them all. We get a more accurate cartoon version of Starscream, and all you can say is complain about it? What the hell is wrong with you? Your whining. Over. Kill. Please. Stop. PLEASE.

(791587) Posted by tigertracks 24 on September 20th, 2008 @ 8:51pm CDT Hasbro has released some high resolution images of product that many parts of the fandom are really looking forward to getting their hands on. These images include a slightly color changed deluxe Universe Starscream, Universe Voyagers Predacon Bruticus, and Vector Prime, as well as, 25th Cyclonus, 25th Cheetor, 25th Inferno, Legends Brawn, Beachcomber, and Bumblebee! From Animated the images show Shockwave, Bumblebee, Skywarp, Blurr, and Swindle. Finally, the images show in package images of Robot Heroes Perceptor Vs. Hardshell (Bombshell’s new name), Snarl (Slag) Vs. Sharkticon, and Beast Machines Cheetor Vs. Tankor. | Re: Images of new TF UNIVERSE 2.0 figures now up! (791612) Posted by Dread_Wing on September 20th, 2008 @ 9:49pm CDT I love the look of Cyclonus and Hound (they don't show him but Ravage is cool too). I am very tempted by the legends as well, awesome to see the minibots revamped. Inferno is nice, but I have the G1 version so I will give him a miss. If they find some way to retool him into Grapple, hell yes. The one that surprises me from that lot is the repaint of Vector Prime. I do not know much about the Last Autobot, but I am not worried. I do not have the mould, and I will be getting him and making him into one mean Decepticon, just gotta find a nice deep red high-gloss paint for the windscreen and 'gems'.
| Re: Images of new TF UNIVERSE 2.0 figures now up! (791666) Posted by Sowndwave76 on September 20th, 2008 @ 11:34pm CDT Hound and Cyclonus are the most impressive to me. I will get Inferno for sure, and who knows, even though I'm not into the Legends Class figs., who doesn't want a Brawn and Beachcomber? I may even look into that Vector Prime... It's interesting to me that Hasbro is releasing another Starscream... Yeah, I'm gonna say it- If the '07 Botcon set hadn't been released, this could've been a Ramjet repainted into Dirge. BUT, I'm really not complaining... Heck, between getting Henkei Thundercracker, Skywarp, and the City Commander set within the next month alone makes this a great time for Transformers!! | |
| Re: Images of new TF UNIVERSE 2.0 figures now up! (791671) Posted by Pyrostrata on September 20th, 2008 @ 11:53pm CDT I will be getting almost all of those sooner or later. Cyclonus is #1 on the list for sure...followed by Animated Skywarp and Swindle! They are just lovely. I will get Starscream, simply because it's Starscream...and it's cheaper than the Henkei version. | |
| Re: Images of new TF UNIVERSE 2.0 figures now up! (791684) Posted by Mkall on September 21st, 2008 @ 12:40am CDT Cyclonus = sexy!! Hound is very nice, I like how they modernized him, and yet somehow have kept him true to his original form Inferno = Pure Win Bruticus I'm still undecided on him. I may buckle when I see him. Vector Prime/Last Autobot is a lovely obscure repaint. I'll probably get him. I already have a classics bumblebee, so I see no need to get him, but I am still partially interested in Beachcomber and Brawn. I'll make my decisions on those when I see them As for the Animated and Robot Hero Figs; they look nice, but I'm not collecting those lines. | |
| Re: Images of new TF UNIVERSE 2.0 figures now up! (791694) Posted by Savage on September 21st, 2008 @ 1:43am CDT Cyclonus is amazing, I'll definitely be picking him up. | Re: Images of new TF UNIVERSE 2.0 figures now up! (791748) Posted by Autobot032 on September 21st, 2008 @ 6:48am CDT
Well, at least mine's humorous. Your's on the other hand? Bordering on frenzied. (not a good thing, mind you.)
You know who he is. I know who he is, but to kids and casual collectors, he's just more shelf warming fodder. Obscure characters like this one are nothing more than a fanwank. A nice nod, but certainly not necessary.
I really don't see why I have to alter what I have to say to appease you? Oh that's right, I don't have to. Like you said: "get damn well used to it." Your attitude really sucks, but I'm used to *that* when it comes to dealing with people on message boards. Still, you felt compelled for some reason to go off the reservation with my post, so I figured I might as well return the favor. Anywho. I don't read comics, and not everyone does. I couldn't give two craps about The Fallen. I most certainly don't care about an homage to him. Whoopty friggin' doo, it's DA FALLIN'! If he floats your boat, great. He does absolutely nothing for me, and the fact that it bugs you that I don't like what you like...is pretty pathetic.
I'll ask you the same question...WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU?! You seriously need to put yourself in check, because you're going nuts over what I said. I have no idea what your malfunction is, but seriously, go get your bolts tightened. 1.) I'm not a Classics collector. I got rid of my Classics collection. I do, however, own Megatron, Galvatron, will own Cyclonus, and Hound might be worth picking up. the rest? Not so much. Not in my book. In your's? maybe. Not mine. That's the problem, you can't seem to deal with the fact that I don't share your love for your beloved Classics. 2.) I don't care about Classics repaints. I don't like them, I don't collect them, I feel no need to do so. (why this bothers you soooo much that this post of your's needed to be made is beyond me.) 3.) I can complain about anything I want. You obviously can, so I might as well jump on the bandwagon. I didn't know you had the market cornered, cupcake. Just because repaints are a given, doesn't mean I have to be pleased with their existence, and again, the fact that my point of view, aimed at the toys, (not you) bothers you, is INSANE! Yep, repaints will rear their ugly heads in the current TF lines, but this year, so far, is getting out of hand. Universe is chock full of them, with proposed repaints of the new figures already on the drawing board! It's one thing to have them as filler where necessary, but relying on them like they are now, is just ridiculous. All of that time, money, and effort could be put to better use. One repaint? Fine. 2-3? Okay. But last I checked, between Animated and Universe, we're looking at at least 12-15 and then some. That's not using them as filler, that's a habit Hasbro needs to kick. If you want Starscream, great. More power to you. If I don't want him, also great, *MY* RIGHT TO NOT WANT IT! I don't know if you think my opinion is so important that Hasbro will read it and automatically stop making repaints, or what, but this post of your's was totally uncalled for. The tone of the entire post shows you were geared up for a fight, and this was really nothing more than a chance for you to unleash your apparent lack of self control, and it's just one giant piece of flamebait. It's all of the countless posts like your's that cause the server hard drive(s) to fail, The hardware just can't take the amount of stupid and fail on a constant basis. You seriously need a cool down period before hitting the submit button. You also need to reexamine your problem with other people's opinions. You don't have to like the opinion, or agree with it, but you have serious problems if you can go batcrap insane over a person not caring about the same TOYS as you do.
| Re: Images of new TF UNIVERSE 2.0 figures now up! (791750) Posted by Sledge on September 21st, 2008 @ 6:50am CDT Please stop bitching about repaints. If you can't handle the idea that they will happen A LOT, get out of the hobby. This is clearly the wrong one for you. | |
| Re: Images of new TF UNIVERSE 2.0 figures now up! (791756) Posted by Autobot032 on September 21st, 2008 @ 6:58am CDT
Please stop bitching about bitching. You're just carrying this over from the Magnus opinions thread (which is now dead and should remain that way, it was a trainwreck waiting to happen.) I can handle the fact that there will be repaints, I just don't have to like it. There *is* a difference. If you can't deal with the fact that people don't see eye to eye with you (which is apparent, considering this is your second thread to show this absolutely ridiculous side) then quit interacting with the human race, this is clearly a problem for you.

| Re: Images of new TF UNIVERSE 2.0 figures now up! (791761) Posted by Sledge on September 21st, 2008 @ 7:11am CDT Ok, I got no idea where all this is coming from. I've clearly walked into some pre-existing argument, so I'm going to walk away slowly and hope none of the crazies go for my throat. Isn't this the first time the Vector Prime mold has been released on it's own in the west? Or was it just the Starscream in that pack that never got individually released? | |
| Re: Images of new TF UNIVERSE 2.0 figures now up! (791764) Posted by Mkall on September 21st, 2008 @ 7:16am CDT
I think it was the Voyager Starscream. We got the supreme King Starscream in the west. Huge disappointment.
| Re: Images of new TF UNIVERSE 2.0 figures now up! (791766) Posted by Autobot032 on September 21st, 2008 @ 7:19am CDT
Vector Prime has been released several times here in the US. 1.) Original colors. (though the beige/gray of the Takara original was replaced with bright white.) 2.) VS. 2-Pack with Starscream. (you are correct, 'Screamer was released only as a Voyager in the US through that arrangement. The Legends and Supreme Class were apparently the main focus for the US market. This Vector Prime was also the same as the first Hasbro run.) 3.) Gold and orange repaint (forget the name..Final Battle or something of that nature I believe.) So this will be the fourth coloring of the mold. (Takara original, Hasbro white, Hasbro gold and orange, and Last Autobot.)

(791767) Posted by Tekka on September 21st, 2008 @ 7:22am CDT Pity they didn't do more Seekers with the Voyager Cybertron Starscream, I loved that design, beats the WW Titanium version hands down. | Re: Images of new TF UNIVERSE 2.0 figures now up! (791770) Posted by Duke of Luns on September 21st, 2008 @ 7:27am CDT I missed Classic's Starscream when he first came out, despite seeing him everywhere(and I didn't have a job then). Then his price sky-rockets on E-Bay and such cause the movie was such a hit(or so I assume). So I have my brother order me the Henkei version cause it was on sale last week, and now I find out their reissuing him.... BLAST!!! Oh well, it was only a few dollars more. Hope everyone that missed out on him the first time will have another chance to score him this time. I really don't see a reason for something cool to be expensive anyhow. As for the rest of the stuff.... A Scourge repaint? Depends on how much cash I have when he comes out. I wouldn't mind owning all the dragon molds someday, and I never got him when he was out, so I might get him. Vector Prime? Hmm, I kinda wanted him too, same boat as Bruticus. Hound, Cyclonus, Beachcomer, Brawn, ah yeah!!
| Re: Images of new TF UNIVERSE 2.0 figures now up! (791772) Posted by Sledge on September 21st, 2008 @ 7:34am CDT I wonder if we will see a Thrust from the Voyager SS mold? Galaxy Force Vector Prime... I happen to like the mold a lot, and this looks like an amalgamation of the original Takara colors, and the repaint GF HASBRO colors. I know what it is supposed to represent, I just don't see it very well. Need to reference LAST AUTOBOT, I guess. | Re: Images of new TF UNIVERSE 2.0 figures now up! (791825) Posted by Rijie on September 21st, 2008 @ 9:28am CDT Bruticus is actually an homage to RID Bruticus, a Deluxe figure with a Dragon-like alt-mode, not the G1 combiner. It looks nice, but I'm happy with with my GF Flame Convoy/Cryo Scourge figures. I like the mold, but this one will be low on the priority list next year. I'm very happy about the Minibots, Hound/Ravage, Cyclonus/Nightstick, Inferno, and Vector Prime. Hound especially looks great with his updated alt. mode. The new Animated figs look good, too. I'll also be picking up the G1 Robot Heroes. Hasbro, please, give us Wheeljack and Trailbreaker. Retool the Prowl mold into Jazz and Smokescreen. Give us Red Alert from Sideswipe. Please. Just...please. Let's see Sunstorm and Ghost Starscream, maybe in the form of exclusives. Oh, and I want some Diaclone repaints(Police Sunstreaker!!). I'm not asking anymore. Just do it... ...please. | |

RiD Bruticus was a "lost" Beast Machines mold, he was to be released under the name "Cerberus", which is what he was. For the non-mythologists, Cerberus was a three-headed dog that guarded the entrance to the Greek Underworld called Hades. I'm defintely getting him, both my wife and I love dragons. I don't care if I already have GF Flame Convoy and C-Cryo Scourge

Cyclonus- Well if I never got a Beast Wars mold as a KID, I probably don't have any G1 molds right? Swindle- I liked the character and the mold is awesome. Bruticus- Never got the Cybertron mold and I like how they made a nice homage.

Cheetor, Might just pick him up, to put him next to my original Cheetor, and see the advancements in design. Vector look amazing, wonder if his sword is still made of that soft rubbery plastic. Then re-tool a head for it and give us Brakedown. Please do the same thing for Red Alert so you can make a Deadend fig. as well. Because you love repaints, go ahead and re-tool a head for the Sunstreaker mold so we can have Wildrider too. And since it's obvious that you like the Classics Mirage mold, why not re-tool one more head for Dragstrip and make it an even 4 Stunticons. If we could get all of these before you repaint Inferno into Grapple, that would be great. And the new Scourge fig., well, if we can have that before ROTF is released, that would be swell too. We can wait for the new Dinobots and Insecticons until fall 2009. You're the best. Sincerely, 20+% of your Transfomers customers

I also love the mold and the only versions i broke down and bought were the hasbro gf, and botcon alpha. This version will be a great replacement for gf as the coloring on it is very bland imo. Its a shame that he will inevitably get stuck with that same bendy sword that i have to rotate every couple days to keep a decent shape...
| Re: Images of new TF UNIVERSE 2.0 figures now up! (792125) Posted by Foallen on September 21st, 2008 @ 7:57pm CDT To me Cyclonus easily looks like the best of the bunch. Still, I'm sure I'll end up with others... Of the Animated, Shockwave is probably the only must have for me. I will need Cheetor to go with my other 12 different versions of him. I think he actually looks pretty decent, his arms are obviously mis-transformed and that's the only bad part of the figure for me. Hound is decent, but mostly I'll want him for Ravage. Although Inferno looks good I may or pass on him. He's just not a character I feel I need another version of. I've got Vector Prime, GF Vector Prime and Alpha Trion, I don't know if I need another repaint of that mold... On the other hand, Bruticus maybe worth getting, just because I love that dragon mold. If they're going to go crazy on the repaints, why not give us this Beast Wars Megatron from RID Megatron: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Mtmt ... gatron.jpg That would make me pretty happy... | |

Thank you so much for saying the part about SS, for whatever reason a lot of people have been complaining about it. The same thing happened to me cause I missed his initial wave release. I am so sorry that I paid for one on Ebay (not a henkei one). I am going to get this one anyway but I wonder should I sell my first one? Do you think they may ever re-release the Botcon seekers like they are with this SS? Ya know like if Takara releases them as Henkei and Hasbro re-releases them without the chrome? Too far fetched or too much potential collector back lash?

It'll immediately tick off the people who went to Botcon 07, as they went there and paid big bucks for everything. The seekers are also figures showcasing that they went there. The Botcon seekers being mass released will also tick off many of the non-Botconers who ended up paying big bucks to get the package sent to them, or other non-Botconers who spent even bigger bucks to get the set off of Ebay. So in the end, it would pretty much piss of a large amount of the fanbase who ended up with the Botcon seekers. And seeing as much of the fanbase who goes to Botcon is pretty TF hardcore, Hasbro would anger the wrong crowd.
