Amazon Japan has posted the new images of upcoming "Unite For The Universe" MR-02 Megatron figure. This is a repaint version of Transformers ROTF Voyager Class Megatron, with more screen accurate paint application.
Takara version of this figure will be released on 26th June 2010.

this look so much more accurate than the leader one! him and battle blades prime will be fighting on my display shelf along with voyager SS and blackout! very nice

So was the original green release from bad movie CGI... or just a setup for this repaint? Regardless, it's a character, and just a mold that I'll never like

Most likely simply that they got multiple versions of the CG early, and settled on one to make the Voyager from and one to make the Leader from.

I hate the wings on my green Megatron cause they are not movie accurate. Why couldnt they clip em ???

I kinda liked the green. It made Megatron seem oxidized or rusted or whatever the correct term is, which suits a robot that's been dead in the water for a few years. (And kids apparently like bold colors as opposed to neutrals, which may explain a LOT of toy color schemes)
This version looks very nice, though I'm happy with rusty Megs.
