Hot on the heels of our first overseas sighting of Transformers Prime Dreadwing, we now have an extensive in-hand gallery of the highly anticipated Wave 3 Voyager courtesy of TFND. Fingers crossed that this guy starts showing up Stateside soon! Images mirrored below.

He looks really cool!

..apart from those hands in jet mode. What happened there?!
He's virtually kibble-free in both mode, and then he's got butt-hands!

This is a whole bag of major want!

Pity about the hands showing in plane mode but at least my biggest pet peeve doesn't seem to be a problem here (the robot head showing in alt mode like voyager prime starscream) + proper undercarriage and not much in the way of kibble.. This looks like one of the best figures this year

Robot mode? Could be bulkier in the back, but I still love it. This guy is a total must have.

Yeah the issue with the hands in alt-mode sounds unanimous around Dreadwing though awesome he still is. But as usual I'm wondering what to expect from the Takara version... :-? . What of his gun, does it look like it has a lame gimmick like Voyager SS and Voyager Prime?

Warning a mini-rant. Why... why must the weapons be giant blocks of technology with no way to lock into place. Why? Don't get me wrong. I like the mechtech weapons. I proudly display my movie trilogy Optimus with most of my Autobot ones. (Including many Optimus ones though I am missing a few). Even if they did not want it to lock into place, how come they could not of done like they did with mechtech and just made a gun that transforms into a 'larger' gun, UGH. The gun looks cool, but the intrepid collector has to rubber band the weapon to lock into place. Why must the weapons have LEDs? I mean why not a locking button to activate the LED. I am an engineer btw. I have no clue why this mechanic was even implemented. I love this figure. I love the gun. I was like, heck yeah! Then I saw a clear plastic band holding the gun into its gun configuration and was super depressed.

It is such a sad waste to see I am going to spend money on something I am not ever going to be able to use. I am sure people on here will hate me for saying all of this. These are my legit feelings on the matter. Megatron's is the only one that is cool since it can lock into place with some fidling + it is a gun no matter what!

I don't like that either. I look the shoulders and legs of older Voyagers like Mindwipe, Seaspray, Lugnut... then I look the new Voyagers... :BANG_HEAD:

By the way, how do the ball joints of these new Voyagers handle friction over time? Do they get loose easily? I have heard that Voyager rid Megatron can get very floppy...

I like the figure, but I still don't know if I should get it...

When i first seen pictures of this guy i thought the figure sucked but after seeing these im 100% sold, alt mode looks great robot mode is pretty good and the gerwalk mode is pure win. I just really hope the price of voyagers is still $20 when this guy comes out, prices have been fluctuating in my area and not for the better. So far voyager have stayed at $20 but we all know that can change real quickly.

You can take them apart and remove the spring. I've done that with Optimus, Starscream, and Bulkhead and they're not so bad once you do that.

Very nice to see someone actually take a shot of the undercarriage. That's the part no one ever seems to think about, but it really matters in terms of a realistic looking alt mode--especially for aircraft, since they'll be flying overhead relative to any other toys.

Yeah - RID Megatron gets pretty floppy over time. Same with RID Prime's legs. A little glue on his ball joints and he is solid again, but Megatron is going to be a pain to stiffen back up again. Arms and legs are getting floppy syndrome on my figure.

Agreed. I, for one, am quite fond of Optimus' weapon and Bulkhead's isn't awful (in robot mode). Starscream's is a tad too gigantic for my tastes though. It's an incredibly simple operation as well. And if you decide you really don't like the big block on the back, it's easily removed. :) Overall though...they are a GIANT step down from the Mechtech weapons. I know they get a lot of hate, but I also like them, they're novel, if a bit large sometimes. I do wish they'd put some thought into incorporating them better, but eh. *shrug* They've been made already and they are what they are, lol.

I like it. A lot.

However, I'm fully unimpressed by the hollowed out pieces. I mean, they're not even given us fully sealed limb pieces, anymore. Look at F.E. Bulkhead and Optimus and then PRID Dreadwing. It's not the end of the world as long as he's constructed well, but it's still an eyesore.

+1

Mine was very floppy/Knock-Off from the beginning. Atleast he isn't to short for a megatron. But it feels like a fake blown up deluxe. He's also very light. So are the new FOC figures, but I can take that, since I lurf FOC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good on you for retroactively remembering. :APPLAUSE:

Well that is more transforming giant robots for me.

I mean it isn't like Bandai and gang are much better at giving us jet transformers than Has/Tak.

Seriously, you should do an essay on why Macross is irrelevant to Transformers.

Bonus points on neglecting Kawamori's (the creator of Macross just an fyi I am sure you knew that ) involvement at Takara designing Optimus Prime, Prowl/Smokescreen/Bluestreak, Ironhide/Ratchet, and MP Starscream or the fact that Roller shows up in Macross.

Everybody's talking about the exposed hands, but at least the arms are secreted between the rear wings and don't alter the aerodynamic flow of the jet mode. What I believe are the big giant hips jutting forwards and out to the sides are far more jarring, to the extent that I didn't even notice the hands, because in every picture I was distracted by the hips sticking out like a pair of elephant ears.

Probably still not enough to make me not want to get him, but not the best kibble situation.

It's was the first thing i thought when i saw the head.

Very good looking robot mode i will get this and i would get his twin it would be awsome if he had the same gun as his commander figure.

The jet looks good can't grumble with the hands and whatever after the movie voyagers , i'm glad he's at least a tad bit taller than bulkhead and breakdown not for scale just for voyagers being taller.

Oh, let's not forget the great G1 Jetfire toy was originally Macross toy. VF-1S Super Valkyrie to be exact. If you didn't read my small text, I do not care how he came about, I do not like Macross.

But, yeah, they're totally irrelevant to Transformers. I mean, seriously.

PrimeStriker wrote:I do not care how G1 Jetfire came about.

I mean, it isn't like Macross is popular at all in the U.S. Everyone knows that. Robotech? That doesn't exist, you silly goose! :D

You're right, Macross had no effect whatsoever on Transformers. I'm not knowledgable at all of the franchise.

Now that the sarcasm's over, let's get on with the discussion at hand. Don't make me like Macross because they had an involvement in Transformers, because I honestly do not care.

I hate the gun. Everything else looks fine, but I'll wait for skyquake. Also, while those wing flaps seem like they're part of the transformation process, they do give the jet mode a touch of realism.

I want this! ...as Skyquake. :( I am not fond of Dreadwing's colors, so I hope Skyquake gets released. soon. mold looks good though. :) I def. need another f-35 ish jet to place next to breakaway, another of my fav jet-formers. I loved his robot mode. so cool.

Love how accurate this toy is in robot mode. I wonder if there's a way to leave one of those wing flaps hanging out the back to make that slightly more accurate?
