So is it safe to assume the hammer locks?

If the hammer locks, that's awesome.

My biggest gripe is the bland paint scheme on Magnus. It's not that impressive. Otherwise, I like them both.

I hope some 3rd party or other is already making a good weapon for Thundertron, but even without one he's a definite buy. Magnus is very much Animated Magnus for a Classics collection, IMO, just like RTS Lugnut or Prime Bulkhead. That's not a bad thing, by any means, I love the hammer concept. Not 100% sold on the figure though. Not really liking the vehicle and robot mode is, yes, a bit bland looking.

Agreed. Normally I'm not picky about paint aps, but those smokestacks look naked. Eh, nothing a silver paint marker won't solve though...

Also, I know I said this earlier, but I really, really hope Thundertron pops up in the show. A pirate lion is just so random, it's intriguing.

Wow. Those look even worse out of the packaging.

Magnus is just straight, plain awful. Simplistic AND ugly. Yay.

You know what would be interesting? If he appeared in a sequel to Prime; Beast Hunters.

Probably not likely, but I still want to pick these two up. I'll have to do Hasbro's job again.

Magnus looks great, if lacking in the paint app department. Thundertron looks pretty interesting too, the more I look at him, the more of a Zero Jager/Schneider vibe I get from him, haha.

PASS AND PASS. Believe me, I'm not complaining.......more more for the "names we don't speak of" and Takara MP stuff...

...well I'll continue to wait for Takara to release images. So are we to expect the Hasbro version to have only 1 rocket/missile?

Looking at them again... I think I am good just having "Arms Microns" Arcee.

Besides, right now, I am hoping to expand my Japanese Generation 1 collection in the future, not add obscure characters that have given me little to no enjoyment at this current time.

These figures could GREATLY benefit from a better paint job, or just more paint. Thundertron is definitely the better one out of the two, but they're both so bleh looking. I'll have to wait and watch reviews to see if they really seem that fun (poseable). Magnus could look amazing with a blue metallic paint all over him. Might need to contract some custom painting here

WOW! I'm so glad i didnt get into TF: Prime line, these two are awful! I mean I'm not downing the whole line, there are some cool, good molds out there, but these need to do back to the drawing board and start over.

I don't know if it was mentioned yet (though I'm sure it was somewhere at some point), but I could totally see Thundertron repainted as Steeljaw and the current color scheme and bot mode kinda have a Tigerhawk vibe to them. He's a bit more 'Cybertron-y' than I'd like for a beast bot, but I'll still get him.

Now I've really got to have both of them. The photoshopped pictures we first saw, as usual, didn't do them justice.

The only gripe I have is ultra magnus's weapon. Not the gimmick itself just the way it collapses. If they had made it collapse on the bottom instead of the top it would have looked like a huge drum magazine. Other than that I like the mold.

Thundertron looks great! I hope both their weapons lock into place.

My level of desire for Magnus has just been upgraded from want to need.

I have liked Ultra Magnus since the pictures posted from SDCC! He looks great! I love the head mold and really like the colors. I definitely will be getting him. I just hope he's easier to find that Dreadwing is. I've searched all over metro Atlanta and still haven't found him.

Thundertron looks...interesting? I don't know how I feel about him. It is exciting that there might be a new faction to combat the 'bots and 'cons, but I'm still not sure. If he's in the show then I'll probably get him. If not, unless he has a pretty good in-hand video review I don't think I'll be getting him. That's one more for those of you who like him!

As an Ultra Magnus fan I have to say i'm very disappointed in this figure. Far too much blue for my liking.

No. Hasbro never gave a specific reason, just that BD wasn't "made to the same standards" and is in a "no-man's-land" cost-wise.
Considering every other AM figure is one Hasbro CAN sell just with added ports makes it incredibly unlikely those are all that prevent Hasbro from selling BD.

Thundertron is really cool, but I wish his colours were darker. He looks a little too heroic in those bright colours to me. Magnus looks good to, even if his truck mode is uninspiring and his head makes me think of Sauron.

I hope to get them both, despite the MechTech weapons.

Yes, they did. Evil is right, it was because getting the AM ports removed would cost too much. Same thing with Unicron and (I know it makes no sense here, but...) Ironhide.

Magnus is looking the way I'm expecting him to be, but lets find out about the AM release.

Thundertron, well he can't be that bad either.

So far in my place, the stores either have just BB's, WJ's, CJ's, a few OP's and one or two of a different character, or the shelves have a right amount of characters (still can't find Airachnid, Vehicon, and I'll start to look for Dreadwing, Kup, and Rumble).

I like the colours fine, but definitely know what you mean about them appearing heroic (I'll likely be renaming my Thundertron Leoric after the Visionaries guy, so thats actually a plus for me) but I wouldn't be surprised to see a Razorclaw homage repaint and I think in those sort of colours he'd be excellent, very evil pirate Cervantes (from Soul Calibur).

They don't work very well when they have to support the weight of a voyager. My PRiD Optimus and Megatron can stand just fine, but if I try to put them in any kind of action pose their legs will slide apart.

Well, yes, they are more of a skirt I guess, but "wing" is a reletive term. Rear spoilers on Dragsters are sometimes referred to as a wing, as well, though they aren't there for flying. It would be much better if they could pivot up and flop over, even like the wing of an F14 folded back, but it seemed a better thing to call it than a skirt or a tribal dress. I still think he's the closest thing we'll get to a Vicorty Leo figure though,and he looks closer to him than does the Cyb Leobreaker mold. Now, if only someone could look like Saber... Or give the E Wingsaber actual legs...

It's more supposed to be the tails of a long pirate's coat than a skirt.

Though, most are saying his beast mode looks like a Liger from Zoids. Like a Liger Zero Scheider colored blue and white.

The HKGTF facebook page has shared more images of the Transformers Prime Wave 4 Voyagers Thundertron and Ultra Magnus. Enjoy the images mirrored below, hopefully these two will show up a domestic retail sooner than later.

With all those balljoints and heavy weapons, combined with the overall quality these days I see a floppy, floppy future for these.

Total pass on Thundertron, an awesome name for a lame-ass looking TF. They should change his name to "Old-Man-Winter" with that mug. So with all the blue paint found on UM especially in bot mode he screams to be made an example of by our friends at "Reprolabels". I think even for a character (correct if wrong) that's not in the show they can no doubt help this TF fav look much better. As usual I'm very curious to see what the Takara version will look like with variations and stickers to apply.
