Jon Voight's role in Transfromers: Revenge of the Fallen is now offical. In a recent interview with Collider.com Voight confirmed he will not be in the sequel. He does state that he is happy with how well the first film turned out. You can read the interview here.

Out of all the secondary charecters his was the best. How are they going to have Simmons back but not the Secretary of Defense? Not to mention he was the older wiser charcter for the movie. Dissapointed on this I am.

Cast a new Secretary of Defense? ROTF isn't going to be out until next year, right? Since this is an election year, there's going to be a new President in office by then. He'd appoint a new Secretary of Defense, I'd assume.

this SUCKS, i love jon voight. he's an incredible actor, this is lame.

although, unlike most people, i actually liked agent simmons, jon turturro is awesome.

Seriously, I can't begrudge Bay a misdirection of Project Mayhem or Discordian proportions.

I won't trust a thing about this movie until after the credits end.

No surprise. Actors of Voight's caliber rarely reprise these kind of roles in sequels anyway, even if he isn't as prolific as he once was. As much as I enjoyed the 1st movie(and was surprised it wasn't a big budget crapfest), every time I saw Voight on-screen, I kept thinking "well, I guess even Jon Voight needs to make a living."

Of all the human characters in the movie, only Jon Voight gave the best and most credible acting. Without him, all the other human characters look like a big joke.

It's sad he won't be in TF2.
