I like "Bulo" better, since that preserves the pun in both languages. To elaborate:

バッファロー (baffalou/baffarou) = Buffalo
バロ (balo/baro) = Bulo

Don't you just hate vowels between Japanese and English? I know I do.

Yeah, but the Romanized form of the name is "Baro", hence the "Ba" pronounciation. Though, we could say that the pun is more of "Buffalo" instead of "Buffalo".

Here's what wikipedia says about puns. Shortening a name by removing the middle of it isn't a pun, unless Bulo, or Balo or Baro means something in Japanese that makes the naming of a robot buffalo funny.

That Shadow RA figure is actually at Aeon stores. It's katakanized as イオン. TF Prime figures have been pretty thin on the ground in Aeon department stores in my area, so I don't hold out much hope for that guy, but it's worth checking in one location while I'm at the Toys'R'Us next door. I'm suddenly glad I haven't bought any Prime figures yet. It's time to go hunting!

EDIT: AND Yamada Denki? Dammit, can't afford all three. I'm not used to so many exclusives showing up in my not-as-cool-as-Nagoya/Kyoto/Osaka/Tokyo city.

The campaign figures have arrived on schedule at Toys'R'Us and Yamada Denki. The YD folks didn't understand how the promo works, so buying 2 figures to reach the ¥3000 yen threshold netted me 2 of Shadow Bulo and 2 of a strange multi-character foil sticker sheet. It looks like it should add tribal tattoos, bullet holes, license plates and faction symbols to whatever figure I feel like. It's marked "Not for Resale" and "Custom Label" and, very roughly, "stick it where you like on your Transformer figure."

Now for the pain of deciding how much is in the budget to keep and what needs to be sold to pay for the rest of them. The sprues make it so much more difficult not to open the packages.
