New Details Regarding MP-11s Sunstorm and Encore Sixshot

Some information has come in pertaining to the MP-11s Sunstorm. The Takara/Tomy Sunstorm will be limited to a 1000 pieces for Japan and a larger scale release for Asia. No information on a western version at this time. This rare seeker will be packaged in the traditional black MP box and is set for July/August release date at 12000 yen ($150USD)! The Encore release of the Decepticon six changer, Sixshot, will also be packaged in a Movie MP styled box with a view window. It is reported to have a "premium leather material finish". Currently scheduled for a July 2012 launch date, it also has a 12000 yen ($150USD) price point.
Both figures will support the Takara collector coin giveaway that started with MP Rodimus.

Does TT seriously justify a $150 price tag on a $75 toy just for a leather case??
I was excited to hear about this release, but now... I may well have to wait for Sixshot to go to clearance. The only G1 reissue worth $150 is Fort Max.

It's not TakaraTomy's fault, but the weak Yen against the Dollar. Normally it should be roughly 100 Yen for 1 Dollar.

Can't say I'm too trilled about the prices for these 2, but I'm still eager to get them. Especially Sixshot! Though news of Sunstorm being limited to 1000 pieces somehow makes me want him LESS, not more. 
BTW? How do I get the collectors coin? I want me a Sixshot coin! Do I have to pre-order from Robot Kingdom or HLJ? One of the Asia based toy stores to get it? I can't just order from BBTS, right? Somebody please tell me! I need that coin!

Pretty disappointed re the six shot price..granted he's a large figure but considering he's a reissue
He's always been very high on my list of must haves and was looking forward to having him but I cannot justify that price...

Limiting Sunstorm to 1000pcs is what really grinds my gears! Cue the assholes on eBay!
If TTakara say that the majority of their business is the adult collectors then 1000 is nothing, why even bother! By the time importers etc get a cut of the 1000 that's not much left for the punters in Japan.
Both Has and TT really seem to know how to piss off their fans.

For that kind of money it should come in packaging more fitting a robot.
A hard acrylic case with a Chinese puzzle box style opening with out of this world graphics laser etched or die-cut in to it.
At the end of the day this reissue should sell for no more than $60-$100 range.
I am going to assume that by saying it is "Premium leather material" it is actually faux leather. When I think of Sixshot I don't immediately think of leather. They managed to package mini-cons in a hard plastic shell w\ a CD
and they look great.
At such a high price when you are obviously paying such a high price for a complete product the total package should reflect the MSRP, and this reissue doesn't.

I would like to make everyone aware, when I posted this story, I confused the information, the article has been updated. the 1000 piece limit is for Japan. There will be a mass release in Asia, whatever that means. The informant asked me to clarify. I apologize for the confusion.
Personally, $25 Wal-Mart exclusive on the discount shelf is the only way I would pay for MP Sunstorm.

Yeah, problem is that auction is by Wheeljack's Lab. And NOBODY should buy from Wheeljack's Lab. I've heard many a story of him ripping people off on there. Plus, I despise the act of piecemealing out a complete figure just so you can squeeze a few more bucks out of it. Nobody looking for say a complete BW original Rattrap should have to go through the trouble of having to buying 10 separate auctions just to get the whole figure. This isn't a fucking G1 gestalt like Menasor or even Monstructor! This is mother fucking Rattrap! Nobody will/should have to buy "Rattrap's right foot", "Rattrap's left foot", "Rattrap's right leg", "Rattrap's left leg", "Rattrap's right arm", etc. etc. etc. FFFFFF! I hate that practice and I hate Wheeljack's Lab!

I got a G1 Six Shot complete from Transformerland on ebay in June last year (had to look it up as I couldn't remember what I paid) for $96 so unless this reissue is wildly different (which I'm certain it won't be), I'll be skipping it.
The one I got was complete and looks great (no yellowing thank goodness) and the stickers even look decent.
As for Sunstorm, I don't have any MP seekers, but the only one I plan on getting is the upcoming Starscream that TT is doing. I'm quite happy with my CHMS classics KO.

I just bought a complete Punch-Counterpunch from wheeljackslab and I had no problems. I see that he has a 99.6% positive feedback rating on over 50,000 auctions. Also, the Sixshot auction we're talking about is for a 100% complete toy, nothing piecemeal.

I already have G1 Sixshot, but Movie Masterpiece-style packaging? WTF? That would be really annoying, not having G1-style packaging.

The source has asked to remain anonymous, although his track record is unprecedented. His last report included the ill-fated yet 100% accurate Botcon list that caused such a stink.

Considering iGear already released theirs for $50 cheaper (and I'm sure that $150 doesn't even include the US store mark-up!) I don't see this flying off the shelves. Not to mention the update where that 1000 is only for Japan. I'd put my money on these hitting the clearance racks...

Considering iGear already released theirs for $50 cheaper (and I'm sure that $150 doesn't even include the US store mark-up!) I don't see this flying off the shelves. Not to mention the update where that 1000 is only for Japan. I'd put my money on these hitting the clearance racks...
