It's my little secret
Thanks to having a daughter ... I discovered small clear rubberbands that girls use in their hair for ponytails/braids and such (polybands). You can buy them at Walgreens in their hair section where hair ties/bands are.
This is the one I bought recently:

I just wrap the small little rubberband around the part that needs to be held in the open position and it works like a charm. I did the same in a lot of the Rescue Bots galleries and all of the galleries that have Mechtech-like weapons. Same with the "Powerizers" Voyager Class figures from TFP RID.

Take the springs out. They work better too, especially Starscream's blades.

Hip-Hoptimus Rime wrote:Simply taking the springs out doesn't always give you good results. You'll often end up with a weapon that flops open or closed depending on how the figure is holding it. I always stiffen the mechanism, by working the plastic around the moving internal parts to create a snug interference fit, and/or shortening the posts that hold the weapon halves together, so the halves clamp down tighter. FWIW.
While I haven't experienced floppiness per say, I can see what you are getting at
as it moves much smoother with the lack of friction.
I wonder if those Polybands are small enough to use as a sort of rubber washer\gasket that can create the friction need, or if they are too big for the internal screw posts.

Are the polybands really visible in my galleries? If not, why don't you guys just use them in the manner that I do to keep them open?

Wow that is good news for fans wanting a cheaper alternative for a movie Prime with a trailer. Wal-Marts are far more common. Please post your pics and in what area you found the figure.

Meadville, PA.
After midnight.
I was incorrect, it's $29.96.
