Well, that's the first piece from the animated line that I think is a complete FAIL!! Yeucch!!

It IS in the most glorious colors of all time (orange and blue...GO Gators!), but it looks terrible.

Well that's disappointing. Gimmick looks good, but boy have the figures suffered for it.

I'm sorry, but this doesn't even look like it deserves to be in a Transformers line. I wish they would take some notes from G1 and make some combinations that might actually work.

This a joke, and I only hope it's not a sign of the decline of the line.

i can get past the fact that they have no hands,my only complaint is the alt.modes(they look like red and blue colored protoforms wih jet nosecones)

The set sounded good in theory... In execution, not so much.

Ignoring the noodle arms, in robot mode I like how they look. I’m thinking those might be gun arms? Anyway, I despise how they look in every other mode though, they just look bad. You combine them by putting one jet beneath another? Fail.

These have to be some of the worst designs I’ve seen in a long time.

This is the first set of Transformers animated toys that I do NOT want...

The sad thing here that all the modes pretty much sux golf balls and the alt modes dont even look like a jet or any flying machine i know of, more like Colorful Crocdiles do-do

one nobody is being forced to buy them two it is something different . I actually think it is cool think of it the two personalities mixed could be interesting in the show something like Blitzwing

Only Blitzwing's toy is so many levels of cool above these hilarious power ranger suit looking things.

well err........ what do i say i was really looking forward too these guys. When i heard about them i thought oh wow i bet there gonna look cool like all the others buuuuuuuuuuuut well to be honest with ya when i first saw the strange design for the plane mode i thought hmm like the coulers i personally expected blue and red seeing as that would make more sense but hey they where ok. then i saw there robot mode i thought there a bit strange but at the same time something about them is cool BUT when i saw them put together omg seriously i dont know who to blame the person who designed it or the person that said yeah thats great well done. come on now seriously what happend it would of been better if it was like energon where they could swap being top half and bottom half that would of been better but no for some reason they thought this is.

Ughh...i'm with just about everyone on this one. HORRIBLE. I mean, I guess we were all expecting so much from Jetfire. These will be the first of the animated line that I am seriously disappointed with. Someone said Power Rangers? Reminds me of the same And what the heck is up with the feet-looking hands?

I smell a slight mistransformation on the individual and combined robot modes, like hands that should fold or slide out of something. Could be wrong, will wait and see.

I was also looking forward to Jet-modes that felt a little more... Earthy. But since these are a deluxe-sized set and they give me a "Cybertron mode" feel, I'm holding out for either Voyager-size earth mode versions, or another delux set with earth modes.

Also, I find it hard to believe THAT's how they combine in vehicle mode, someone must have screwed up. I don't wanna dash my hopes for a Dreadwind/ Darkwing/ Dreadwing kitbash/repaint

Wow ... I think I've even got to thrown in my 2 cents and say these look terrible. Hopefully they're mistransformed or something ... but the combined form looks horrible with the multi-colors like that. How'd this get out of quality control?

Would have been a great concept with the Clones I think, Cloudraker and Fastlane, and if they had one uniform color scheme.

Jetfire deserves a much cooler homage in Animated. He's a legendary character!

WTF these are complete FAIL it kinda remindes me of counterpunch for some reason. Where are the wings in jet mode? And why the hell does he have a two-face combined mode? wow i expected something way better than this shit. Animated fails yet again.

... I'm really hoping these guys are mis-transformed and they actually have hands somewhere, because otherwise, the robot modes aren't that dad. Jet modes are... Not great, honestly, but they're not the worst we've ever gotten either. The fins on the inside of the robt legs look like they should go on top of the vehicles, but I don't see that being a big improvement.

As for the combined modes? Same hand complaint, but I like the "Two-face" look, and I think this kind of combination's been used in some of Takara's Brave lines, so them using it here may be meant as a homage. I'm with you guys on the combined jet, though... LEt's just ignore that.

ALl in all, they look... Meh, average. I'll probably buy them if I see them in a store, but if I had to choose between them and Shockwave, I'd pick Shockwave in a heartbeat.

Wow! these look, wack! I'll pass on these. They don't even look like jets let alone real Transformers, and what's up with the mirror image thing? Colors, layout, detail, overall transformation, all weak. They're really changing it up this year with these weirdformers. Oh well then, if that's what kids want, that's what they get.

The only Jetstorm I can remember would be that BM Vehicon Jet/goose thing.

in the show they should be like gaogaigar's hyoryu and enryu,
2 robots that are complete oppoosites of eachother,but combine into a bigger robot that is a complete fusion of the 2 robot's characters(ie jetfire=arrogant kid,jetstorm=mature adult,
"firestorm"=normal person)

You know, looking at it again. It's nice that they tried to go for a Kikaider look for the combined forms.

But like I said, it's a good design, just very poorly implemented, and like what Seibs said, if they had a more uniform color, or one that complemented the other, it would be good.

Why do I get the feeling that these are going to end up as repaints for the next Botcon as Dreadwing and Darkwing?

The concept is interesting, but the figures had to suffer for it unfortunately. I would'nt mind as much if some hands came out of the feet in the combined form, but it just seems like this design was rushed somewhat. I'm going to go ahead and get it, but I get the feeling that the boards are going to be whining about this for a long time.

Color scheme wise, they oughta be call punch/counterpunch, but that would show major disrespect to his character as well. I cannot believe how excited I was.... then the pics arrived...Boo!

Well that's too bad. 2 of the same figure in different colors...neither of which is a G1 Jetfire homage.

They look okay in jet mode, but rest is pretty bad.

Oh well, one more thing I don't have to spend my money on!

Okay, I get it... JetFIRE and JetSTORM. They have a fire-ice thing going on there, just look at the transparent parts. It's an interesting concept, but the execution is just bad.

The combined robot mode is the only part that I actually liked, for about two seconds til I realised he had legs for arms.

Lets take it mode by mode.

Separate Vehicle modes. Not too bad. the front looks o.k kind of Starwarsy. but o.k. The rear section clearly suffers from the gimmicks. It has feet hanging of the back. Really needed some wings there to complete the look.

But all in all not a complete failure.

Robot Modes. O.k they work. they are very thin. But look poseable enough. Not too bad. Lack of actual fists or hands is a major negative.

Combined Jetmode: total failure. They are not even trying.

If they where going to make them combine into a bigger jet. They should add something to jet form, not look like you just sandwiched them together. Heck they could have chosen to use the same gimmick as in robot mode, and make them turn into half of a Jet. Instead of that monstrosity.


Combined Robot Mode: I dig the concept. Kind of reminds me of Gill from the Street Fighter III series with the Fire and Ice powers.

I believe the concept is fairly interesting, and could have worked. But they definitely would have benefited from being at least voyager sized for the gimmick to function correctly.

Overall, a cool concept that sadly did not get a good execution.

Most people are swearing they won't buy them(how many times have we heard that before, and then everybody goes out and buys the figure). I'll just wait until they are out and I can see them up close to give my final judgment on them.

But for now I will say I am quite disappointed on them. I was expecting something better executed.

i do not know if i will get them now cus i have to see if there is some characters of them in season 3. untill then i will think abot getting them cus the colors are awesome. but i would rather get setilal prime then thoes guys and i dont like setinal that much.

What really surprised me though are that these are "Animated" figures? Am I the only one that thinks they look nothing like Animated? I mean, the Animated toys all have a certain 'look' to them and they all fit in together and look like they go together. For lack of a better term, they're kinda 'cute' and rounded looking.

I don't think these two look anything like the rest of the Animated line, I don't think they look like they belong in that group at all.

They look more Armada or Cybertron to me.

I have been impressed so far with the animated line, but i guess they were going to start rushing crap through sooner or later.
My local Tesco has been selling off TF Animated @ half price lately. Maybe a movie line - Animated line - New Movie line upcoming could be over kill? General sales are what counts and i hope Hasbro dont try to cash in too much
