I can't wait for this figure. He looks fantastic!

I don't really get all the hate this figured has garnered. The color scheme could be better, but the articulation makes it a winner in my book.

Okay, I never hated this figure, but I was definitely on the fence in terms of whether or not I'd like it enough to buy it. Well, consider me sold, and sign me up for at least three....

I don't hate the figure but I realy don't like it and I save the money for some other future figures

I think w/ every new set of pics I see, I'm starting to like it more. Color scheme ain't too bad; posability is definately superb. I like OP having a sword too. Haven't been any sword-barers in these new lines. Now off to fight Skelato-- I mean Megatron

I can understand how the retro design would appeal to fans of the G2 figures, but on a purely aesthetic basis, I think it's a really ugly figure. Of course, that's what G2 was all about: making the figures as ugly as possible.

Ehhh, doesn't he look like some random products in Armada? It's a pass for me.

I don't hate it, but I already have too many Primes.

Maybe when the Scourge repaint comes out, I'll grab it.

He's nice and all. I just wish they had upped him to a voyager. Not that it's a deal breaker, I just wish I could see what the added scale and complexity would have looked like.

im ok with the figure, not so much with the paint scheme. ill wait for the repaint.

I like the mold, REALLY don't like the black hood, blue doors and roof thing. Have we seen a confirmed picture of what the Takara United version is going to look like?

I can't wait! It looks fantastic. I love the light piping in the forhead and I'm not even a big fan of light piping.

My only gripe is that the shoulders aren't independent from the missle boxes. Far from a real complaint, but it would have been nice

I agree, but I personally don't think we're going to see many more voyagers for Classics/Generations/Reveal the Shield/Etc.. I'd prefer that he be in a larger scale, the same way that Galvatron and Thunderwing should have been.

I was so determined to buy RiD Scourge. But look at this mold! The color scheme is awful, but we all know it's going to be redone in black, and when that happens, it will be more awesome than anything, ever! And just like Hot Shot, any motivation to buy the original will be gone!

(I'd be a lot more comfortable if they did Toxitron instead, but really, how likely is that?)

This may be a bit of a quick judgment call, but it looks like the hitch design may possibly be able to connect to the old G2 mold's trailer? Can anyone say anything about this?

I already wanted that toy and now we see that it has uber-leet posing ability? Fuck, I am so sold!

I think it looks frickin awesome, and as some others have mentioned, it has huge potential with some different color schemes. I'm picturing a Nemesis Prime repaint.

The head mold screams Scourge to me. I don't care for it, but my 6 year old says "that's awesome Dad, who is it?" So it's cool, just not Prime.

Ehhh...it looks so-so i guess, ill wait until Takara works their magic and see what he looks like.

I may get this to play around while displaying the Takara version, it it's better looking.

Do you just mean RTS? Because Drift had a big ass sword in Generations.

I was on the fence, but now I'm liking it. I'd rather have inevitable Scourge repaint, but that might end up being an impossible to find store exclusive.

Everything about this figure's robot mode screams badass. The vehicle mode is the only hindrance I can see, and since my shelves are standing room only, not a worry.

I can't believe Prime and Bumblebee are part of the "Reveal The Shield" promotion. Like anyone is going to even believe for a second that they're somehow not Autobots.

That right there is pretty much the reason why I never understood rubsigns. It says they're autobots on the frakkin' box!

I have to get this one, just so I can repaint him. I do like the mold. I like the mold alot. Just wish it was bigger.

Great looking figure, really digging the poseability. I don't want another prime though, so hopefully a repaint of this works with a new head and weapon or whatever.

There will likely not be a remold, as this exact body (with the slightly sinister looking prime head) will inevitably be repainted as RiD Scourge.

I love the mold, I'm REALLY loving the poseability shown in these new pics but that @#&% Ugly A** combination of the black, blue and red is just freaking horrid. If they changed the black portion to blue, yeah I'd be all over that like a homeless guy on a stack of cash, but that color combination (in my own opinion) just...really...sucks! He's fine in robot mode but I'm not spending money on a Transformer that I refuse to transform into vehicle mode because (again, in my own opinion) some toy designer has no sense of proper aesthetics. I don't know, I may yet get it if I can find a spray paint that is an exact match for the rest of the blue. I'm willing and very able to stencil the flames, transfer the design to tape and cover them so that they don't get over-sprayed but that's only if I get enough pressure from my youngest son to pick up this figure.

i can see some good ol' takara microman roots in that articulation & pose-ability

You are aware that the colour scheme is done intentionally, as a direct homage to the original G2 toys that this is based on, right?

Im not a hater but I still hate the colours on this guy. I like the fig now, but the colours need to be changed. Cant wait for a re-paint.

The more I look at it, the less I see of Prime. I mean the colours are spot on, the weapons are there, the bot mode is good and the truck mode is too, but it's not Optimus to me. Looks more like a doppelganger trying to be Optimus.

I look forward to having him on my shelf, but not as Optimus.

That you for pointing that out. I was wondering what it was that wasn't quite knocking it out of the park. It is definitely getting bought, but I think you hit the nail on the head with what you said.

This guy should have been a voyager, deluxe Optimus figures suck.

To be honest, G2 Optimus Prime looks like it's on an entirely different level than any other Transformers toy I know of with respect to its articulation ability. These photos of the toy show it striking poses that I've only seen possible on higher end Japanese action figures like S.H. Figuarts, Robot Damashii, and Figma. Having that kind of articulation alone is impressive but to have that on a relatively low cost toy(RTS G2 OP should be approximately a third of the price of the Japanese figure lines I mentioned), and one that transforms, is something that makes it a possible Toy of the Year for 2010(or 2011) for me.
