Well, it's better than the one from the first movie, that's for sure. At least the alt mode looks like something this time. But I still don't plan to buy it, unless I get it on clearance next Christmas for like $20.

I'm all over it...But what's that set they've got him in? That's pretty cool looking...

It is cool, but I have the leader from the first movie. This one is a pass.

I prefer the previous bot mode. And this guy has mis-transformed (or hasn't shown) the feet.
Bay said Megatron is only shown in flashbacks and is not alive in this movie. The box bio says he's been rebuilt from other scrapped cons. I wonder which is true.

Is he really gonna be that white? If he is, then I'm going to do my first ever repaint...

Bay lied about him being in the movie at all. What do you think?

Seriously, for a guy "only shown in flashback", he's getting 3 figures, including a leader class.
What do you think?

UltraPrimal wrote:I want that background!
I *think* those are Gundam backgrounds. They have several floor plates and several wall plates you can get.
I've seen them around, and they are pretty cool.

Watch there be some Allspark power thingie maneuver he does to steal the treads or body off Devastator to combine with The Fallen or something.
Well, THAT or he activates the Allspark power just as he's getting thrown into a building where cutlery is made.
This figure is so hard to get into. It's as easy to swallow as the US government dropping a large piece of alien technology into the ocean instead of dissecting it further.

Or an old robot who needs a cane to walk.
Or hick robots that are inbred and stupid lookin'.
(Please god, if you exist... make this crap go away.)

Why is Megaton reminding me of Scary Movie 2?
Here Devastator! You'll have to take my Strong hand!
Other than the arm I love it.

this is sweet! love the white armor
the tank mode looks really allot like the armada megs
Is it too hard for Hasbro to cover up an exposed head! I mean Megs has had a head sticking out in the armada and energon series and the first movie Megs(which had a little face plate)
hah... glad to get that out of my system!

You would only know this if you read the comics [which Ive only read a few movie-verse ones] but they comment on that situation.

Seriously!! That's what I hate the most about the first movie fig, this one doesn't seem as bad from what I can see

They didn't quite capture the badassedthrashyoarse-ness of the concept art on the tank mode, imho, but it ain't bad at all. Don't care for the gimp arm really, but other than that its pretty hoss for a Bayformers Con. Colors could use some work, kind of reminds me of Skullman from the MegaMan games. Snazzy background they got going, btw.

Wheeljack144 on March 20th, 2009 @ 8:49pm CDT
meh. I prefer the TF1 megatron premium.
Sure, this one looks ok...the head is a better fit for megatron, thats for sure.
But honestly, the tank looks vaguely like a tank, like the jet looked vaguely like a jet.
And the arms...they dont match. Not even the fusion cannon arm. I just dont like the aesthetic of this figure.

People need to stop complaining about this kind of stuff. Yeah, it's stupid as hell. But it's stupid as hell in exactly the same way G1 Transformers was, in case you forgot how lame it could be sometimes. You remember Grimlock dressed as a waiter serving drinks, right?
Re: New Images of ROTF Leader-Class Megatron (900923)Posted by

I had in my head an idea for a story where different worlds had been brought to life by "Primus", "The Allspark", or what have you, and certain concepts remained ingrained in their collective consciousnesses - like the idea of the type of being an 'Optimus Prime' and a 'Megatron' is. All the different worlds have transforming robots, but the application on each world is different.
In this concept, 'Cybertron' is basically like 'Earth' - a term for what the planet is made of, not originally intended as a planetary name, that BECOMES a planetary name. One world has the Cyb/Galaxy Force / Classics aesthetic; one is beastformers from BW and the beastlines of Cyb/GF; one is the Animated aesthetic; and one is the Movie aesthetic. Of these, the Animated are the most 'human' in their outlook, and the Movie the most 'alien'.
The idea of two different Megatrons actually vaguely makes sort of sense in this concept if Megatron is taken as a title, the way Prime is.

So......the "the old stuff had stupidity people loathe, so its okay for the new stuff to have dumb crap too" mentality is the line to be towed? I'd have thought cutting out the stupidity would have been the better option, rather than first badmouthing the old material then using the items badmouthed to justify the new stupid crap.
Guess it's just me.

That looks to be the simplest transformation of a leader class I've ever seen. What? You bend him in half and move his massively oversized arm around to his back. It's more like a damn FAB. Or one of those TF: Animated figures that you press the bumper and the back of the vehicle pops up to show you a facade of the character.
And it's not white, it's over-exposed. The person taking the shot has used too much flash.
I'm also hearin' a lot of people saying that they're only going to buy him once he goes on sale for $20. I wish!! Over here we're lucky if leader class figures reach less than $50 when they go to the "sales" tables. RRP over here is anywhere between $70-100 (depending on where you buy them from). Hasbro Australia likes to gouge us.

They Bay-ified Armada Megatron, for Cybertron's sake.

The tank mode is alright. Robot mode? The sinister megagimp. Stupid arm design. From part 1 to part 2 megatron continues to look giant metal snow man(not so sinister). Fans project should put out a transforming rudolph with an led nose light. Then they could find lost lonely toys a home together. By the way the color massively sucks also.
