The most recent wave of Animated figures has been released in Japan, comprising of Sunstorm, Samurai Prowl, Swindle, Rodimus and Waspinator. Seibertron member Diem has got his hands on Rodimus and Waspinator and shares the images with us:

A few items of note:
* Rodimus is very G1-accurate purple-red-magenta. He has the purplest red of any Rodimus figure I've seen.
* Samurai Prowl's Recommended Retail Price is actually higher than those of all other deluxes; on the shelf he costs 25% more than the others.
* Waspinator is described on his card as transforming into a "mechanical bee". However, since the Japanese don't have separate words for bee and wasp this may just be a translation error. Also his rank is "Decepticon Mutant".

Don't exactly see the difference in Waspinator, other than a slight tinge to his little itty-bitty mandable-things on the side of his beast mode. Dunno about Rodimus.

Is the Japanese Samurai Prowl different (more chrome or whatever) than the US release?

I'm a bit disappointed in the fact that the Rodimus car mode is almost hidden too low in the packaging. I had pre-ordered the Japanese version just to keep sealed on display, but it's quite a bit less viewable than the American Animated packaging.
Oh well, still looks great though.
