New Movie Scout Repaints Revealed - Blue Maximus, Crosshairs, Drydock and Undertow

None look that great, the molds I mean, so I won't be getting any most likely...

i already have these molds... so i think im gonna pass.

Must keep adding to my squadron of biplanes.

Guessing that Drydock will be in the orange/white coastguard colors, but regardless of his paint job, he suffers from the intrinsic flaw of his mold - having possibly the largest alt-mode of any of the movie characters while being one of the smallest toys.

I'm gonna hazard one guess as to what colour Blue Maximus will be

Well, congrats hasbro, sold me a basic toy I dont want to so i can get another bi-plane, well played.

I want to have the complete set of Bi-plane seekers. But the rest dont interest me ay all.

Great job Hasbro your saving me more money!! If Hasbro keeps this repaint of "same old same old" figures, ill be able to retire way before im suppose too.. Nice Job Hasbro

Yep, only those two. Needless to say, Ransack wwas pretty unique when he was first released.

And I need to see the proper colors before I make a decision. I'm pretty surprised Shortround rears his head again, gonna have to keep an eye on him. For those wondering how they're compiled (Autobot is listed first, then Decepticon):

Crosshairs vs. Blue Maximus
Drydock vs. Undertow

It's not a bad mold, I just haven't cared for any of the previous color schemes.

although hard to make out, there's a pattern on Blue Maximus' fuselage. I did a bit of looking, and it looks like a fairly accurate mimic of the Blue Max Fokker DVII.

This means that I shall purchase him.

Crosshairs appears to be a dark color, so the odds are he may be UPS brown or possibly gunmetal.


Not too concerned about the other pair. I own the original release of both molds, and I'm quite happy with them.

I agree. It is enough of a difference that I can't get past it.

Has there been any further information on these 2-packs? I'm gonna guess they're Walmart releases, but any store save TRU will be fine.

I may pick up the one with Blue Max. in it just because I like the molds. But the other is a pass.

Shot Hasbro repaint the the crap out of all the molds they have and expect people to buy them, come on even little kids wont fall for that s@#t they know when they got the same mold but different colour

It took me a few to figure out what you were saying, but here's the deal (recite lecture #37):

1 ) New molds are expensive. Repaints of these molds provide the opportunity for someone to get that mold after the wave is long gone if they missed it the first time around, and the sales of repaints help offset the cost of new molds.

2 ) Repaints are a Transformers way of life. How many people still insist that any Seeker type toy be repainted as Starscream, Thundercracker, and Skywarp, and repainted or retooled as Thrust, Dirge, and Ramjet? And that's not even mentioning Prowl / Bluestreak / Smokescreen, or Rumble/Frenzy, Laserbeak/Buzzsaw, Rewind/Eject, Huffer / Pipes, Brawn / Outback, Gears/Swerve, Windcharger / Tailgate, and many more repaints or minor remolds.

3 ) You don't want 'em? Don't get 'em. And speaking as someone who was a kid back in 1984, kids may know something's a repaint, but that doesn't matter! It's a different CHARACTER! "I got Thundercracker!" "Oh yeah? Well I got Starscream!" Heck, even with He-Man, ya just had ta have Faker, even though he was just a blue He-man, because he was a different CHARACTER!

Meh. Gonna go back to my shelf and figure out how many actual new molds I have. And you know what? I won't care, I get the figures I want because I like them. And I'm probably going to get Drydock and Undertow, just because I like the molds!

A-hem. Botcon 2008. One sold kidneys to have the Thundercracker from that set to go with the Starscream and Skywarp, and the Dirge and Thrust to go with the Ramjet.

News for ya: if in 1984, the Scream/Cracker/War trio hadn't sold, that up there wouldn't have happened. They did, and so did it.

Soon as I see the Red Baron, I'm nabbing him (Indy has been slow on getting the old new stuff) and I lost the shoulder armor to the origanale navy bot when he jumped off a desk, so if I can find the Coast Guard, I'm getting him. And the second black one might be mine if he turns up for my character Sea Bee.

I just love his mold, the missle batteries, the finger torpedos, I love it all. Same goes for Ransack
