From the text BIO above the robots. They are blurry. But just enough can be made out to say its Depthcharge and Ransack.

I'm trying but all I can make out is a bit bold R for the Biplane and two bold De for the boat. Perhaps your right but I'll wait till we have better images of them.

Megatron_Wolf wrote:Cant wait to see how they justify a bi-plane. The boat guy looks good but i fear for the plane. Would've been a good idea for some spin off toy line but for the movie i dont know. Dont get me wrong it looks ok but just in the wrong continuity. Cant believe that hasbro is canning the Universe line for this crappy movie and animated.
I agree except for core characters. I'm gonna get as many of the 25th universe toys as i can afford. The only real problem i had with the univers line was how crappy the 25th prime remake was.

and 2nd i like biplane figure but the biplane should nt even remotlty be introduced into the film if they can introduce the biplane they cna introduce the dinbots, dinobots & biplanes are extinct, second whta dumb transformer would pick a slow moving vehical like that when it comes to air combat thats a bad disguise when fighting in the air.
i proaably get these figures but ill be sorley dissapointed if the biplane is introduced somehow in the film its just not possible or ligical

yes why a biplane and no dinobots

Or could be the case of the first movie, where many military and civilian vehicles were turned by Hasbro into TF characters, and this biplane, again, is part of the museum sequence.

The G1 Ransack was a locust, G2 Ransask was a old prop airplane (specifically a Chance Vought F4U Corsair), Armada Ransack was a truck, Universe Ransack was a backhoe, Cybertron Ransack was a motorcycle. Seems like this guy is a homage to G2 if anything.

As for them working it into the plot, I see no reason he can't have found his alt mode in a museam or an airshow. I'd love it if a Transformer landed at the Henry Ford Museam and scanned something vintage. There are some sweet vehicles on display there.
Not every Transformer must turn into a 2009 vehicle. Heck, it's more likely that some alien landing at random in on earth would bump into something vintage than the latest showroom models and prototypes like we saw in the movie.

I totally agree. Transformers toys should be all about cool, interesting alternate modes transforming into robot toys instead of the same thing over and over and over. Read: Seeker jets.

Agreed on both. I want clear pictures of that awesome BiPlane!
I can't wait to see the custom artists turn it into the HOS seekers.

I'm assumming these were prolly from a camera phone and someone took them quickly befor being spotted. 007 transformers move.

But it almost looks intentionally blurry. Even the crappiest phones don't look like that.

Second thing is: If the bi-plane isn't a toy-only or game figure, could it be that "senile bot" Bay was talking about when news of the movie came out?

But the little bastard may actually be in the movie, so we'll see how that goes. They gotta fill that 40+ robots quota some how!

80sgeek wrote:First: The reason why ALL first pics are so blurry is because they are taken quickly by people who work in the factory. They don't have time to make sure everything is in the frame and it will be in focus, they want to get the news out to us fans while keeping their jobs.
Wow. Way off their. First They don't care about the fans, the only thing they care about is selling a stolen figure for $200. The reason that they most likely keep them blurry is they know there is higher demand when someone is buying something as a collector that no one has seen before. This is the same thing that happened with the Sound wave prototype. Don't say that they took the time to take photos of it in every position possible, but didn't take the time to focus it.
Posted by Firebird on January 7th, 2009 @ 11:15pm EST
And if the boat really is named Depth Charge than I will be forced to buy him as well.

Stockade wrote:I'm really liking these new alt modes like everyone is talking about, but heres food for thought wasn't one of the combaticons a biplane too in starscreams brigade?? Anyway, both are very kool and hopefully and release date for the new ROFT figures will come soon!
Nope, IIRC all the Combaticons were World War II machines before Starscream added the personality componants.
EDIT: The two aircraft - what looks like a P-51 Mustang and some form of small bomber - become Vortex and Blastoff, respectively.

And they've already kinda blown the identity of the geriatric robot by previously posting the jetfire bio, where it says he's an older decepticon that joins the autobots... if i remember correctly...

Makes sense. It would make him a G1 & G2 homage. G1 for name, G2 for the Rotorforce biplane was named Ransack as well.

I never liked these movie figures at all, doing my best to ignore them, though they glut the toy aisles.
But really. I really hope these two figures are just photoshopped "gag" disinformation that Bay referenced he'd be engaging in way back.
