Shame I won't be buying any of these. I'm focusing on Universe and Classics at the moment.

No matter how much diecast they put into him, this is a 20-25 dollar figure tops.

It's only weapons are those arm-guns... meh, where are the G1 times, when the figures had more weapons than hands? I cry for rocket launchers, guns and swords for every robot!
Diem wrote:Just a pity it's yet another bloody Convoy.
True. Why can't they start with figure homages like Bludgeon, Shockwave, Overlord, or Fort. Max?

Because they want people to buy them.

And while I'm usually one to not like/care for a Prime or Convoy outside of a hoss big rig or fire truck, this fella is win. I totally plan to acquire him.

I'd rather they had continued with the BT line.
Looks good in die cast, I'll take shiny and reflective paint over boring plastic any day.

Someone looking for Shockwave?

I was skeptical of buying these because of the small scale and the Silver didn't do it for me but the red .... wow .... has to be one of the most good looking convoys of the past couple of years. That's how you celebrate a anniversary

That's pretty much what I'm gonna do. I got the Silver one on pre-order. He was NEVER gonna be a prime in my collection. Probably have him run his own crew and have Drift with him. I'm definitely loving his looks. Yeah, his alt mode has a lot of exposed lines, but he a TF, it's kinda expected sometimes. For me, it's total WIN.

Couldn't agree more!
As it is, I prefer the silver one, as a Nissan, he's a nice fit for an updated Bluestreak. I liked the Subaru Alt, but this works very well.
If I can score this for around $30 I may do it, but $50 = pass.

Silver is definitely the winner.

Yes it is a new line called Alternity!

Given the scale of 1:32, i think it's just about the size of Movie Deluxe Bumblebee.

still wonder wot other figures (if they do any) will look like in thsi line?
Posted by Tyrenol on September 26th, 2008 @ 11:23am CDT
He should be Runamuck or Runabout. Or another one of the G1 Transformers that hadn't seen the light of day yet.

I think the best thing to happen to TFs in the last 25 years was the Alternators/Binaltech and the Masterpiece lines, it's sort of the TF-equivalent of the Joe 25th line...
Old favorites, designed like they would have been back in the day, if we had today's toy tech... But updated, and generally well-done, with a few exceptions.
While this line has some nice new design elements, like the collapsing chest and other things I'm sure we're not even aware of, I think it looks too much like a mix between movie, Animated, and Classics, the only 1 of those I like is Classics, and I don't even collect that.
I was so excited to see the Skyline, as it's a badass car and glad that they have new molds of real car licenses again... which I wrongly thought was the return of BT/Alternators.
Also, a car doesn't fit Prime/Convoy, I'm sorry. No matter how badass.
I would have rather them ended the BT line strongly with something like this and given us one last hoorah, than start a new line with an awkward Prime that doesn't really work.
The new design has interesting features, but I stopped liking it long ago.

Seat weapons are aces though.

For anyone who's wondering why they would release Convoy first, it's mostly because the Japanese Market love Convoy. I wouldn't be surprised if they did Megatron or Starscream next. I will be picking these up for sure when they come out. After Hasbro botched most of the titanium line with poor die-cast placement, it will be nice to get my hands on a figure with good weight.
