Wouldn't surprise me in the least if we see a Takara (or maybe even Hasbro, if they feel like it) retool of Fireflight as Slingshot and Dead End as Wildrider, just to cater to the G1 team fans.

I'm only interested in Thundercracker if he comes with Buster.

Man!
I think I like the Gen Prime mold better as Huffer than Prime.

Kinda wish we got a G1 Skyquake from that mold instead of Thindercracker. But oh well.

Combiner Wars is looking solid. Can't wait for Superion and hoping we get a stronger Bruticus

Thundercracker looks amazing, but is this really a character that should be in leader the class size/scale?

As someone who does not read the comics, please tell me; is this a comic accurate depiction of the character? I just don't think of him as towering over his fellow cons.

What about the other seekers? I really do not want to drop the cash on a full set of leader class seekers. (because seeker molds always get repainted)

In terms of design, it's pretty close to the current IDW design, minus the air scoop shoulders:

Size-wise, the Seekers aren't really bigger than the average (deluxe) size. You might argue a voyager, but not a Leader.

Still, it's kind of cool to have Seekers of appropriate size for a jet.

thundercracker... wow, that is a *heavy* remold. Really he'd be better as a voyager, and I would have loved to have this version of the seekers in voyager clas, but I love thundercracker so I might end up with this figure. I'm not sure however that I would buy three of this remold however, because 50$ each is steep candy for the seeker trio, so it'll be awkward if that's in their planning. I'd ditch the leg guns though, and maybe mold 5mm ports onto the upper arms.

Huffer is an unfortunate victim of mold overuse and it's just the wrong mold. Alt mode isn't bad but altogether it's still a bit too optimus. could do without the roof scoop/shoulderpads altogether, and maybe retool the legs but you're pretty much stuck with that opening/closing chest that just doesn't cut the gravy.

but that thundercrackes is very good, a lot of real re mold going on there

Right? It took me a moment to realize it wasn't the legends version. Still gonna be a BIG thundercracker, but as long as we don't get leader class skywarp and starscream I'm okay with that, and so is my wallet.

*looks at pictures over and over and over again*

Well, the Aerialbots are a cheaper alternative to TFC's version, saving HUNDREDS of dollars, but on the flipside, we have to have a 3rd party finish the set for us now... (I'm sure Hasbro will come along with a G1 accurate set to milk the molds dry.)

The Aerialbots do look a bit...off. Still, they're quite serviceable.

I have FansProject's Menasor and nothing tops it for me, so Hasbro's is out. (Ugh.)
Optimus still looks bad. BAD. Zero interest in him and I see now that my money spent on ToyWorld's Orion was the right choice. (Probably my favorite Optimus mold, ever.)

I'm surprised by the packaging and it's darker tone. I'm impressed that Hasbro went that route and that they even show Autobots and Decepticons forming a combiner, that's pretty cool.

That said, Combiner Wars is a mixed bag for me and probably not one I'll be opening much.

Now, onto Thundercracker... I like the shoulder and chest remold, I really do, but to make a redeco/repaint out of a Leader Class mold? Wow. I can't imagine it's going to sell well, at least not to kids, so I kinda hope they made it in limited numbers.

2015 isn't a complete mess, though.... Robots In Disguise is coming and it's showing promise.

I have two versions of that mold and the chest bit doesn't work right on either of them. FYI to those wondering, it was said at BotCon that Prime/Motormaster have a front/back thing going on so you're right there.

Pity re huffer, I have a new found interest in smaller classes since I got metroplex. Besides going well with the big bot, think I was impressed enough with the engineering and detail of scamper yo feel I was missing out a bit. Anyways, a new mould woulve been nice.

Thunder cracker works well, tho he is perhaps one of the few iterations of a a size appropriate to his jet form, i think I'll be sticking with my deluxe seekers. Jet fire was at least meant to tower over the others. The retool works very well though and took me a few seconds to realise it was a jetfire retool when I saw the thumbnail. obviously the cost is a big issue cos...

I know I'll be spending a lot of money on those frickin combiners. Even prime looks tempting there,

$17 for a deluxe this is getting out of hand, i barely buy anything now because of these idiotic prices. If their goal is to alienate people its working, im one price hike away from abandoning this toyline completely.

16 Deluxes... 4 combiners. I'm betting a portion of those will be redecos/remolds. Yay.

3rd party to the rescue!

To all those hating on Thundercracker's Leader size, please keep in mind:

(1) Generations Leaders are closer to Universe Ultra in size (i.e. shorter than the ROTF Leaders)
(2) We are also getting a Generations Leader Megatron, so TC should fit in with Megatron nicely

That's not to say I'm super happy with the fact that TC is Leader-sized (I would have rather seen a healthy voyager that could more directly compete with iGear's Raptor Squadron), but I am saying that the size is acceptable, IMHO.

I wonder who the 4th Voyager will be.

I reay like that Thundercracker. So different, uet so similar. I'm just not sure if I want a leader class version of him in my Decepticon collection.

And Huffer... I'm...not sure how I feel. It looks good, but it also looks like somebody put Huffer's had on Optimus's body.

Well, that Thundercracker was kinda out of left field. It works, though, and I'm glad we actually have a jet-former who's relatively in scale with Deluxe cars. Having a jet-former be a Deluxe just...doesn't work (unless you're putting them with Legends figures). Also, I really hope that shiny finish he seems to have is on the actual toy.

Would have preferred Skywarp but oh well.

Huffer looks pretty cool, I might very well get him.

I'd love to know what made them choose Thundercracker. Seems very left-field. That said seeing that figure in blue, and with the original white mold and abundance of upcoming Aerialbots in mind, I'm wondering about the potential for a custom G1 Dreadwind and Darkwing.

Meanwhile these Legends figures are really starting to annoy me. Every time I successfully talk myself out of getting involved with them Hasbro go and reveal yet another Minibot. :-x I don't have the money right now to go back and collect an entire line of figures I've been trying to ignore.

i was thinking of it as a skyquake / dreadwing thanks to their prime incarnations. It does seem that thundercracker does not come with jetfire's backpack, could it be left out and might lead to a cheaper price (i have a feeling it will be w/o the pack but same price as jetfire)

They're not taking the backpack out - that's what makes up the rear of the jet in alt mode, and is essential to the transformation.

You can guarantee ideas are being thrown around already for the Combiner Wars gestalts.

Working with what we have seen so far could we expect the likes of Dr Wu, Prof Heiesenberg, Dr Killinger, SXS and Beelzeboss banging their heads together to create...

Weapon set - G1 inspired guns and swords?
Replacement head(s) - G1 inspired individual bots and/or gestalt head?
Replacement hands & feet - Articulated fingers/combining hands and feet into weapon?
Replacement Legends bot - Improved and articulated replacement?
Replacement Deluxe bot - Improved and articulated replacement?

We have already heard news that Beelzeboss may be working on replacement parts/entire figure. :-?

mm I was referring to the detachable backpack that came with jetfire, it's not being shown in either the pshopped images or the comic con photos. It might not be shown as it's not ready or they decided to do without it as it doesn't contribute to thundercracker.

Sorry about that.

We may not get the jetpack with Thundercracker, but we are getting null rays.

yeah the jetpack thingy - though that one is of the prior generations version.

in the photos there's also a 2nd hand blaster though I reckon since it's not in the pshopped image, it won't be included.

I do like the new thundercracker detailing, though the mould's inherent flaws still bely what would have been one of the best figures in years.

Actually, I pulled the 6 out of thin air  5 is the minimum, with Optimus as an "extra". And we have no reason to speculate Optimus will get a team of his own.

16 Deluxes and 7-11 Legends have been confirmed to appear tho. And Huffer is a must-get

The cheaper bit is yet to be determined. What we do know is that the 2015 Legends have no partners at all, on the account of the new mold releases becoming accessories for the Combiners. Those include

- Powerglide (gun for Superion)
- Blackjack (based on G1 Motormaster's car, becomes chest plate)
- Bombshell (not yet determined)

The repaints have no partners, they include:

- Huffer (from Optimus Prime)
- Thundercracker (from Starscream)
- Windcharger (from Tailgate)

for everyone wondering "why thundercracker first?" i bet its just marketing strategy. he's probably the least desired of the original seeker trio, being the first is better for sales. theyve done it before (titanium). also ad its already been said, SS isnt first cause the colors are too close to jetfire.

he looks good. but damn thatll be one giant set of seekers...

That, or it's because of how great a character he's been in IDW, what with this also being modeled after his IDW body. :D

The funny thing is that if you put him next to a deluxe car Transformer (which are usually fairly consistent in size, even between lines) he actually scales perfectly in vehicle mode. Jets are big things, and a jetformer would definitely be bigger than a carformer.

(I do have a headcanon that jetformers aren't actually much bigger than carformers in robot mode, but in vehicle mode they "puff out" by decompressing their compacted robot modes, creating a jet mode which is the "correct" size but is mostly hollow, which also reduces its overall density and allows for better flying. Obviously this can't be replicated in toy form very well, but oh well.)

Prime does look better...but it's still lacking. all that silver on his belly. It should be red. I collect primes, so I'll pick this up but I've been waiting on a perfect g1 incarnation to come out (that isn't a masterpiece or third party) and it looks like that just isn't going to happen. Oh well, still looks good. Motormaster looks amazing.

EDIT: didnt mean to post right after the other. sorry. didnt think.

I'm down for the combiners but I'm not really down for Prime or Thuindercracker. I still like the old original Classics Seeker mould, even if it is too small. Leader class is too big for my collection. I'd have been down for a voyager, though.

Funny they don't need partners now because they are partners for the future combiners. Look back at the list, I really want Powerglide and Bombshell and so don't care about them being accessories or not. Hasbro should do Kickback too so I can complete the Generations legend Insecticons. Strongly consider Huffer, too.

Thundercracker is the least desired for most but most desired for me out of all the seekers. I understand the appeal of Starscream but never for Skywarp. He's pretty much a dum-dum guido from Jersey Shore.

damn delta... it must be hell living inside your head

im aware how things scale in real life if coarse. and even though i care about scales sometimes, its usually just for bot modes. ive never cared much about alt mode scales.

i figure, between the two modes of any given TF, only one will completely be accurate and to scale. id prefer it to be the bot mode.

For the combiner Optimus, what if, instead of repaints of Jazz, Mirage and crew from that episode when they pretended to be stunticons, instead, these Stunticons get repainted as...THROTTLEBOTS? I mean, you got the vehicle types to make a few of them.

Hasbro please stop with the simplified Transformers.

Seriously they don't just look bad, but they defeat the purpose why i buy Trasnformers.

I don't like what i am seeing here.

I think it's great that Hasbro is finally making combiners, but why do they have to half ass them. Third parties are going above and beyond and then Hasbro comes with this?

Sorry for this negativity but i am seriously disappointed in their lack of creative design.

So we're getting a legends Thundercracker AND a Leader version? Also according to the press release all the legends become an add on for the combined figures so does that mean Huffer, Thundercracker, and Windcharger are going to be slightly remolded to do something else?

Since these are remolds and redecos, we know you'll want to see the originals these figures are based off of, and you can see the origin molds in all their glory in our galleries, located here for Jetfire (Thundercracker) and Optimus (Huffer).
