Included in the recent announcement regarding Shout Factory's upcoming Generation One DVD releases is a curious bit of information with regard to the DVD release of Revenge of the Fallen, set to be released in theaters in less than a month. Both press releases regarding those DVD's contain the following sentence:

The Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen feature film, directed by Michael Bay, is in theatres June 26, 2009. The DVD arrival in stores in Fall '09 will start the second wave of the Transformers frenzy.

If true, this would more or less follow the same path from theaters to DVD set by the first film, whose DVD release was in October of 2007 after it's successful summer theatrical run. As always, rumors of this nature should be taken with a grain of salt.

More information will be posted as it is announded.

Personally i think that sentence

"The Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen feature film, directed by Michael Bay, is in theatres June 26, 2009. The DVD arrival in stores in Fall '09 will start the second wave of the Transformers frenzy."

means more to the G1 DVD release dates (2 vol), rather than ROTF DVD release date.

Perhaps. Then again, Fall doesn't start until September 21st. That's why this is marked as a rumor.

My first post. Great site for keeping up to date with the film series.

You have no reason to take me seriously, but I did want to sign up and post about info I have. Usually I'm not in a position to "scoop" anyone, but I felt I could help out on this one. I work at the corporate offices of a music/movie retailer and have access to our buyer lists. Take it for what it's worth, but it shows the Transformers 2 release date for DVD as 10/20/09 (Drag Me To Hell and Angels & Demons are also listed for that date). To be fair, that is always subject to change, so that may not wind up being the final day, but as of right now, that's what Paramount has told our buyers.

Anyway, I'm very excited about this movie and can't wait for it to open. Keep up the great work.

While i was at wal mart last night , drooling over the now full shelves of Bots.. I noticed this peice of paper on on of the end caps. I picked it up and it was some kind of promo/shelf diagram with alot of sales figures, POS suggestions and general information about the transformer product. At the very bottom , in bold black lettering was "Wait until you see what we have in store for Fall this year".. This may not be a rumor after all :P I was going to grab the paper but I didn't get a chance too..
