Hasbro has released some new pictures of the upcoming TF Universe Superion repaint. The first picture below shows Superion in Revenge of the Fallen packaging, which has never been seen before. It is unknown at this time if this item will replace the 25th anniversary packaging that we've already seen for this item or if this is a running change.

Looks pretty cool. Let's just hope that the fancy packaging costs don't get passed on to the buyers! Yeah, like that's not going to happen.

Far be it from me to be a skeptic... but hadn't we seen a standard Universe 2.0 box pictured before for the Superion re-release?
Or is it being re-released in both series?

Probably both -_-

Look in the background, you can see hieroglyphic-like writing.

Wow, the RotF line hasn't started and we're seeing repaints already? That's fast!

That's a definate jump, don't even release new molds just trot out the repaints, again.

The box is cool but the thing inside is still a pass.

Maybe they are trying out packaging on other combiner figures and it will be used for Devastator later on.

If they did scrap the idea to release this in the Universe 2.0 line, we probably wont be seeing this for 4-5 months or so...

A bit unrelated - has anyone else picked up a storm jet from universe 1.0? And if so, does it have a backwards shoulder flap? Mine does and it makes the bot mode loose and stupid looking. Hope they fixed it.

Okay, it looks cool, but...I AM SO EXCITED TO SEE THE BOX WORK(man in background:*Cough*Nerd*Cough*)! The box is much more cooler than the toy. Oh well, simpleness is bliss.

woah that face @ the top looks like something i drew for a movie style unicron... can someone explain why it's in a rotf box i don't quite understand

I didn't get the Energon combiners and now I'm getting Constructicon Maximus but I decided I will pick these two box sets up. We saw them in the Universe packaging and now we see Superion in ROTF packaging. I'm going to try for the ROTF packaging. It really looks superb! That face... I am really hoping for The Fallen. It's pretty obvious there's the Cyberglyphics in the background/the back of the inside of the box. The packaging looks quite nice and I love what they've done with the logo - it looks fantastic and the Autobots aren't stealing the light of Transformers any more.

That's some great looking packaging! I've never said that before ever! If I see either of those in a store, I'll pick them up. But not likely over interweb.

Early movie promotion most likely...Mr Bay is looking to cash in before the movie even is released in cinema's...the bastard...

But then again it's to be expected...afterall it's Micheal Bay for godsakes... >_>

Not likely, no reason for Hasbro to actually share the profits out of a mold/molds that are completely theirs. Bay has nothing to do with those molds.

Bay would only get profits form the figures directly spawned from the money, if he even gets profits form the toy sales that is.

Anyway, Probably just a packaging test, though this puts the release of these guys further into next year.

The Positive point here is we get to see what the packaging design will look like for the movie.
And it does look pretty good.

I like that packaging more then the Universe packaging.

I like the look of the "glyphs" on the background of the packaging. Heavy emphasis on the movies plot right there. Also looks like there is a face on the top middle of the box too.

i love that box artwork.. very, different.. and the hyroglyphs.. nice..

either way im definatley picking this set up.. i missed out on superion last time round.. as the only place that had him was tesco and that was individually.. not in one box.. so yeah.. superion for the win..

I don't like the edges on the packaging, it should be more like the first movie packaging, mechanical and brighter.

As for Superion being in there, this is just a packaging mock-up. They threw in a random figure to see what it would look like.

I think you mean bottom left. And no, it's a totally different figure. That's Energon Starscream and this is a different mold but is this colour because it's Air Raid.

Has anyone noticed the colors for the A-10's? I mean come on, pink and brown?! *sigh* Guess im better off with the original...

And the first ROTF figure we've seen is a repaint of a figure thats 4 years old? Wow hasbro...wow.

Mock-up packaging people, they just put a random figure in there.

it looks alright, not digging the wavy lines on the side though.

It's fun to finally see some official source actually recognizing the fact that this movie is actually being made - but a box doesn't have quite the same punch as a poster or teaser trailer...

HINT HINT.

I feel the same way. Seems like an unnecessary use of the budget to make the wavy lines.

But the colors, hieroglyphics, and "face" look cool.

Right.... And that's why they went to the trouble of putting new headshot art on the box, adding in the correct text, throwing on a Target Exclusive sticker and doing a different vac mold for the figures inside....

i dunno, makes me think of a "legos" box. The color scheme of gold and bright reds, kind of turns me off. I think i would prefer a darker color scheme t offset the the figure.
I dont think the "face at the top is actually a face *squints eyes*

According to TFW05's insider the eyes at the top of the packaging belong to the Fallen.

The face at the top of the package reminded me of the leaked Soundwave figure's face.

Anyway, all the Target, WalMart, and TRU exclusives from the first movie were repaints from previous lines--I'm sure the 2nd movie will be no different.
