Wow...Color me impressed...and that is saying a LOT about a Rodimii when that kind of praise comes from me, a self-proclaimed Rodimus/HotRod HATER! That is VERY pretty indeed!

If (when) I get him he will be in that pose with the matrix over his head. That picture with him "lighting our darkest hour" is the coolest thing I have seen this guy do... Just that pose along changed my mind about purchasing him.

Not a fan of skirt armor though, that's his only downside...

That is one nice looking figure. At first I wasn't sure if I liked it but I'm definitely sold on it now. I'd like to get the Hasbro version, so I hope that looks great as well (and hopefully that bonus item they were talking about is Firebolt).

Does anyone have any idea how tall he is, in both Hot Rod & Rodimus Prime modes?

Isnt it nice when a figure upper legs are in proper proportion to the lower legs, this allows the figure to adopt bended knee poses properly.

I wasnt going to get MP Hot Rodimus and I held off buying but now I think I want one and Kapow Toys is out of stock.

I'm actually getting excited about this figure now! I'm very happy to see his crotch plate moves cos I thought his leg articulation was seriously hampered. Love the blade attachment too.

I'm not liking that crotch plate, I wish it was in 3 parts like Prime's. It would look a little better that way. Grimlock's was pretty well-done too. I'm also surprised he's not as dark red as the G1 toy. The colors could be darker in general, especially the face and hands. Other than that he looks great! Too bad I can't afford it. Oh well, maybe I'll have the luxury of being able to choose between Takara or Hasbro.

I'm guessing he'll be the same size as MP Grimlock, and since their the same figure, I'm pretty sure Hotrod and Rodimus will be the same size. =L

I can't read what was posted but what I've seen looks really awesome. They even paid attention to upholstery detail. Gotta love that! They've outdone themselves w/ the welding matrix, torch, and buzzsaw accessories being included. If I were collecting masterpieces I'd definitely want this in my collection.

Yup, I am seeing nothing that is making me regret buying MP-09. The best $180 I spent on a Transformer in a long time (maybe since MP Grimlock). This is my Rodimus Prime, Hasbro's will be my Hot Rod.

im more impressesd than ever master piece that can actually hold matrix with there hans inside not outs of matrix that prime & repaints of does nice not likeing pinkish look to him but i can deal with it

I think I read somewhere that this Hot Rod figure will be coming out in the UK but without the trailer attachment, is that right? Just wondering if anyone knows when it might be coming out? Perhaps in time for Dark of the Moon?

The Hasbro release will not have the trailer. I don't know how wide the release will be though.

Speaking of Hasbro release, have we ever seen the trailer with the maroon-colored Rodimus? If we haven't, wouldn't it be safe to say:

- Takara's will be toy-accurate red
- Hasbro's will be show-accurate maroon

Im also beyond thrilled that he is magenta/maroon and not red. Im tired of red rodimii. Its back to the movie colors now.

That does look very nice. This beats FP's Protector in the awesome catagory and I absolutily adore the protector.

Anyone want to bet the supposed extra Accesory which comes with the english release is going to be the fishing rod. :grin:

Alfes 2010 has updated his blog again. This time with MP Rodimus Prime parts 4, 5 and 6. These galleries focus on Rodimus Prime and his alt modes. We get some nice comparison shots with MP Prime, G1 Rodimus Prime, Hot Rod and Rodimus vehicle mode and robot modes and a few shots of the differences in MP Prime's Matrix and Rodimus Prime's Matrix. The guns, saw and arc welder are stored in the trailer. Check out a sample of the images below and all the images here at the blog.

The magic died on me when they showed the front of Rodimus' vehicle mode is a clip on piece and not part of the transformation. I think I can now wait for Hasbro's Version and pick this up down the road. :/

I'm a little dissappointed how small his Matrix is, especially when he looked so good holding the bigger one in the other pics. Oh well, Rodimus still looks great overall, and his despite the size, his Matrix still looks good stored inside of him.

Its just a thought, but - maybe the Rodimus Prime mode(s) were an after-thought on the toy? They design Hot Rod transformation, then come up with the extra faceplate, and then come up with a way of allowing for the winnebago.

I am hoping the Hasbro release will have something awesome, like a Wheelie figure included.

You know what, that would be pretty cool. Maybe he could be around Scout sized, that would make for a nice little extra, and it would also go great with Grimlock. On the other hand though, I think a large scaled Firebolt would be a great bonus accessory to go with Rodimus and would probably fit a bit better together. Hasbro could always just release a Scout sized Wheelie somewhere down the road.

wow showing rodimus lullabye dont know what there showing us there smaller than in botmode & car mode i expected him to bee loitte bigger oh well, target master is hotrod is nice bonus feature

After this release, i just hope that third party transformer makers do something bout the height of Rodimus Prime. I wish they will include an add on for his feet to make him as tall as MP Optimus Prime

Never watched Headmasters, couldn't tell ya. Not to mention, scale in G1 was all over the place.

I said he'd be short but oh no, someone said the price point suggested largeness and I pointed out he cost the same as Grimlock so wouldn't be any taller and I was shot down but now we see that I was right :roll:

I never understood how the Hot Rod vehicle mode configured into Rodimus' truck mode. It's pretty neat how they figured it out!

I'm starting to regret ordering it now.

There are multiple reports of problems.

They are:

-Paint chipping from transformation and gimmick usage.

-Wing being scratched from insertion and removal from trailer. (A really, really tight fit.)

-He's incredibly fiddly, maybe even more than Megatron (though not as fragile) and if you don't line him up just right, his wheels won't touch the ground and he wobbles in vehicle mode along with the back of his head and his codpiece scraping along since they sit on the bottom of the vehicle mode.

-No matter how you transform him, he suffers from Protector's vehicle mode problem. The middle set of wheels never touch ground, just the front and rear sets.

-The slot in the palm of his hands just barely grips the rifle handles and if you wrap his fingers around it, the gun will either fall out completely, or sit there very loosely.

-And worst of all...someone posted a pic of the right forearm on their Rodimus, and the flap that allows the hand to rotate...BROKE OFF. That's right, broke off.

I'm starting to be really concerned here. Nothing I can do about it now, since it's bought and paid for, except hope that I got a good one coming from BBTS. *sighs*

I suspect that the problems with the Rodimus trailer are connected to my theory that it is merely a clever after-thought of having designed Hot Rod.

Also - why is anyone surprised about Takaras QC? Nearly every Takara figure I've ever owned has had QC problems.

I had an order running for MP09 Rodimus with HLJ, to be shipped with the March wave of United figures, but this morning finally decided I had to cancel the order, based on all the negative feedback and based on my own lack of enthusiasm for Hot Rod as a character in any way, shape or form.

Looks beautiful but I want to see what Hasbro do with him first or until TRU Japan discount the price down to around 10,00 JPY (around $120) which they did with MP Grimlock, Optimus Prime, Megatron, Ultra Magnus and the Seekers. (no, I didn't buy them all but I wanted to!).

Don't let those reports bother you. They happened with every MP figure yet. You get someone who can't be careful or treats the thing like a toy and whammy-blammy, intant internet sob story.

If you consider yourself to be careful, then you can be worry free.
