The poster shows Shockwaves head behind the moon, which bears the Decepticon symbol, the date 7.1.11, and the tag line "Be afraid of the Dark".
If you want to see it click here.
However, the photo is similar in style and timing to the "first teaser" poster for Revenge of the Fallen which turned out to be a fan-made fake from Poland. So keep that in mind, as this might be from the same artist or a copy-cat.

And I believe the head from Chicago will be very close to the final Shockwave look. That's why I think it's fake. Still a good one.
What do you mean!? Its the exact same thing, onlu turned to face us! ITS SHOCKVEV!
There is a big difference in the eye, the ears and the mandible like things. Also the shape of the head.
It still looks the same to me. It just looks like they put in less detail in the poster, like the mandibles look bigger and like they take up more space.
Less detailed? Kind of like someone hand drew it? Why would they use a lesser quality image for a teaser and not the final CGI rendering?
It may be fake, but I think its real. I mean it has the Paramount signature thing at the bottom.
This means nothing. It can be faked. Signing my posts "Michael Bay" doesn't make me him.

I don't think the head is complex enough to be real.

This is definitely a fake. No one associated with Michael Bay would come up with any slogan that clever.
To all you Bay-defenders out there: That was a joke!

That one was taken on a public show. This looks like it was taken on at least a business meeting, which aren't very... public.

One interesting note here: has anyone else noticed that this picture was taken in a hotel room? Business presentation, trade show, whatever...makes me wonder. I would expect a fake to be in someone's house or basement. But even if it is, it looks awesome. Can't wait for it!

Been soo soooo long since I've posted here.
Anyways I claim "Offical Procrastination"
What is this you may ask?
It's when too many people have too much say on the direction and art and design of a project that nothing gets finalized and properly prepped for any kind of promotion. Case in Point, Megatrons goofy head and production merch from the first film, Soundwaves made up alt mode from ROTF, all the screwed up tooling for the ROTF toys, Arcee combiner concept tossed, list goes on and on.
So what I think happened here, is that the studio kind of needed a promotional piece for there biggest 2011 release....needed a final render pic of the key villan (Ala "Fallen" face poster) but it didn't exist because most likely this guy and many other robots are still going through developing and conceptual stages. So they used a piece of concept art, which would explain the inconsistencies with the Chicago filming piece, which itself could just be placeholder concept art. Anyways they grabed a designer, told him to slap together a poster, gave him a piece of unfinalized art, printed out a poster and slapped it up. Not really planning on anyone else seeing it.
Or it could be fake, which is the simplest explination...but I don't believe a word Bay says reardless of how trustworthy he's proven himself to be...and as complicated and twisted as the above theory sounds...it really is how marketing people and such work. I should know from deling with and developing a healthy hatred for marketing people. So if something doesn't look up to par, tha doesn't mean it's fake, it just means they're procrastintors. Hazzah!

I believe that this one might also not be official, but...
Mainly it's almost the same as the one with Shockwave, only Decepticon logo on The Moon is differently and instead of Shockwave, we can see Soundwave's head.

This one looks more realistic.

Yeah, but the "Be afraid of the Dark" line doesn't seem so real to me: It doesn't quite seem in the text-design they use with Movie headlines. At least the color seems too...
well, I don't know the word, but the coloring doesn't match the rest. Seems more like some reddish metal than silverish and highly reflective.
And, remind me if I'm wrong, but Soundwave didn't have a visor quite like that. It was more like multiple optics lined aside each other.
