The fact that they are packaged as a giftset I would assume.

Oh, so the regular retail release will be individually-packaged figures?

Yep, as far as I know anyway.

I have a feeling it won't be easy to walk into a Walmart or TRU and find all five figures in stock, and I don't want to have to hunt all over town or keeping going back to the stores over and over. How much you wanna bet Onslaught will be hard to find? The scalpers will probably swoop into the stores and buy all the Onslaughts so that everyone has to come to them to complete the set.
I think they're also slit among the waves.

Well, that pretty much guarantees it'll be nearly impossible to find them all at retail, since most stores will stock too many of the first wave and never stock the final wave at all.

UK fan site Full Metal Hero is reporting that Amazon will also have an exclusive giftset featuring the Fall of Cybertron Combaticons in the bright colors that were originally revealed. This set is apparently slated for release in October.
EDIT: Misread the article

Actually, no. For the first time, Hasbro heard our cries. All five come in a wave, 1 per, with other single packed FOC figures to round out the 8 figure case.

Which is exactly why I'll be buying a Wave 2 case from BigBad.

Oh really? That's good news I guess. I've pretty much lost interest in these. I'll get them eventually just for the individual modes, but I don't see me displaying them combined.

Yeppers. The one thing Hasbro's doing right out of this horrendous mess.

I wonder if this means they might have a different color scheme, or if this is confirmed to be it. I would love it if they realized the regular release should be less bright, but I doubt it.
I also wonder if it's a possibility that this box set may make it to Canadian TRUs, since that's what happened with Amazon Unicron.

Individual figures are definitely getting released. The only thing exclusive here is the fact that they come in a giftset. Colors should be the same.

In before one or two individual figures get so understocked that we have no choice but to buy them at stupid prices from a Ebay scalper.

Wait wait. 1 combaticon per case? Dammit, I imagine brawl being insanely rare... since my TRU only opens cases once all the figs are removed... so if some other figs are on shelf, they are not gonna get new cases opend.

No, no, no, all 5 per case, so each case should have a complete Bruticus. However, since cases aren't fully put on the shelves, well...

I meant 1 of each per case... That mean's it's PRID vehicon syndrome X5.... The PRID Vehicon Syndrome is happening here!
