Seems Generations is the best line to collect this year!
And do mine eyes deceive me, or is that another new OP mold?

We see, in order:
- Legends Optimus Prime with Roller
- Orion Pax
- Beast Hunters Optimus Prime (possibly the Voyager)
And keep the cars coming, Hasbro!

Also it looks like Clayton Crain is doing all of the art work. I know he is doing the cover to the Hoist 1 shot, but this looks like his style across the board. Clayton is also doing the card art for Marvel Legends.

I agree, I was looking for Skids but only saw what looks to be Trailbreaker (sorry, old school)...

The art still looks kinda blue on my monitor anyway.
Posted by frogbat on February 24th, 2013 @ 11:20am CST
Re trailbreaker Tho the blue and gun say skids, I think when they come to do a skids homage they'll focus on his being lanky and his doors becoming wings
My only complaint re Orion pax is the vehicle might be too earth like
I'd really like a new classics set of leaders at this point. I have the crumby deluxe op and galvatron as my leaders.. Never thought Meg's or voyager op were worth the expense...

Crain is doing the cover (RI) artwork for all the Spotlight comics.
As for the Trailcutter Decepticon logo, compare the summary for his Spotlight story:
STEALTH ATTACK! Trailcutter has a problem: the Lost Light has been taken over by the Decepticons—and no one else seems to have noticed! Can the Autobots’ defense strategist singlehandedly see off an army of infiltrators? And even if he does, will it convince his crew mates that he's got more to offer than kind words and forcefields?

Now that we have confirmation that they're (at least) trying to make FOC Seekers, I'll make sure to pick up Starscream when I get the chance.
Hoist was a no-brainer.
Blitzwing's package art.... That's one box I'd be happy to save.

I just had a thought - what is the likelyhood that we will see a Springer Spotlight comic?
Oh, God, please let this happen!

It's still the FoC mold and the FoC character, that's what they're getting at. Don't be nitpicky (sheesh, look who's talking...).

Doesn't matter, it's Thundercracker that uses the same mold as Starscream.

Yay Thundercracker! I wish we'd get a Skywarp too, but maybe I can spring for the Takara one. All the rest are buys except maybe Hoist, if he's just a simple repaint of Trailbreaker.

He'll most likely have a new head, new weapon, and a different back end for his vehicle mode.

Oh, God, please let this happen!
The character has been MIA for about 3 years, it would be interesting if he did get a Spotlight, but really there are a bunch of characters in the IDW-verse who are more deserving at the moment.

Last mention is that he's on the planet Debris in a coma. Don't think he'll be part of the Ongoings for quite a while.

I thought that OP with Roller was going to be around scout size? Which I know isn't much bigger then Commander size now a days. I must have missed that legends size news.

I'm no economic expert, but I believe we won't be seeing preorders until we're closer to the middle of the year.

Autobot Genocide wrote:The skids? Repaint to me and i know it wont be looks like rumble its probably just his face/visor .
And the Decepticon symbol on his chest.
Could very well be Rumble. It ain't Skids.

It's neither Skids nor Rumble. It's Trailbreaker. The "blue" we're seeing is just a lighting effect. The red Deceptivon logo is more than likely a mistake in the drawing phase. And if the toy has a red visor, it's probably an homage to the original G1 toy.
And for those saying that they don't match up with their package art... I have yet to see one Transformer package that depicts an exact match-up (other than stock photography) of the figure it's advertising.

Arm cannons for both, and wings (hoist) or Cannons)Trailbreaker on the shoulders.

Nuh uh. The toy will most likely be IDW Thundercracker, who currently shares a body-type with his WFC/FOC counterpart. The FOC phase of the Generations line will be over after the Wrecker combiners come and go. The next phase of the Geenrations line is IDW toys.JelZe GoldRabbit wrote:Manterax Prime wrote:You guys do know Thundercracker's box won't say Fall of Cybertron right?

It's still the FoC mold and the FoC character,
But because they share a body-type, this toy can be repurposed into WFc/FOC Thundercracker.

O yeah, completely forgot FoC designs were being repurposed in G1 by IDW Kinda like I'm doing, except it's official now

And while this mold isnt the best representation of Hoist, at least it is better that ROTF Hoist. I hope it has a tow hook of some kind and no guns in alt mode.

Tell me about it. I'm in desperate need for a Classics Voyager Optimus, and I was very optimistic (no pun intended) about him being Voyager-scaled to match against the Voyager Megatron without giving in to
scalpers.

I third that. The art looks SO GOOD, but the toy does NOT look like the art. The proportions are so funky.

With a name like that, it would be a missed opportunity to not repurpose him as an Optimus vs. Malignus continuity character.craggy wrote:I didn't want to buy Thundercracker, but now I kinda do, just to call him Frederico and have him be a character from the RID/Car Robots continuity just as an example that it doesn't really matter what you think is intended, or what is written on the packaging or press-releases, re: names or continuity.
Also, RiD and Car Robots aren't the same continuity. Car Robots never gave any indication of being a different continuity in Japan, with it's characters having come form the future.

Classics Blitzwing and springer!
This could be the best classics line yet, with re-introduction of classic (pun intended) like orion, bee and megs in the IDW lines. I sorta hope Ironhide and Ratchet get a new IDW toy. I missed classics Ironhide/Ratchet but they not that good anyways.
As for Thundercracker... I swear Skywarp will stay a Takara Exclusive just like what happened in DOTM. Oh well, time to pre-order Takara Skywarp.
